It was a warm Saturday of May,the final exams were getting closer like the end of the year but,despite that,you could feel happiness,calm and love in the air. No anxiety,no worrying just excitement for the forthcoming last match of the year between Slytherin and Gryffindor.
Everything was set up to start in half an hour,so all the students had already gathered at the Quidditch field. The last people coming were you and Draco with a few others of you friends.
<<Let’s beat those Gryffindor once again!>> Zabini shouted coming out from the Quidditch field while raising his broomstick up at the bright blue sky,his voice was deep,followed by a laugh of excitement and a little funny scream of joy. You smiled while Draco surrounded your shoulder with his strong arm,you played with his finger and then twirled the Malfoy family ring he had always brought with him. <<I miss seeing you playing sometimes>> you said to the boy <<I know it made you going crazy over me>> he teased,you laughed and bite your lips <<I’ve never came to see you practice on accident,Malfoy. You were so attractive>> <<And thank God you came,if you hadn’t we would had never started dating>> the angle of his mouth was arrogantly lifted up as he came closer to leave a rough kiss on your lips <<Y’all don’t make out in front of us!>> Pansy yelled from steps away,Draco turned and glared at her <<Shut the fuck up Parkinson,it’s none of your business>> you hide your laughter covering your mouth as soon as the girl’s cheeks turned red for the embarrassment.
<<Is anyone fighting here?>> asked Fred <<Freddie-you shaked your hand in the hair to greet the boy-good luck!>> the Weasley smiled and did the same <<Thank you Y/n! You better get a good sit to watch me beat you boyfriend’s house>> he joked;Draco was ready to Avada Kedavra the hell out of the ginger boy but you glared at him <<Don’t say a single word,Malfoy>> the boy mumbled something incomprehensible and le it be.
A few more members from the Gryffindor team came out from the Quidditch field,followed by Adrian Pucey and Miles Bletchely. As soon as you saw Harry and Ron you greeted them too.
<<Seems like your girlfriend feels the urge to be friend with all the boys at school>> Pucey suddenly said;<<Excuse me?>> Draco raised his right eyebrow,and you turned to Adrian <<What does it mean?>> you asked trying to stay calm. The Slytherin laughed and shrugged his shoulders <<Absolutely nothing>> <<Stop being such an idiot>> Harry called him out <<Uh,uh here comes the chosen one>> Bletchely taunted him <<Shut the fuck up,Potter. It’s between me and those two assholes>> Draco made a step closer to the players <<Already got mad Malfoy? We haven’t said a word yet>> Miles replied ironically <<Stop!-you exclaimed-we don’t have time to waste on them,Draco. Let’s go>> you took the boy’s hand and told him to follow you into the field to find a seat.
<<She’s cute tho. I’d like to be her friend too>> Pucey kept talking,you ignored him and tried to bring Draco away from there before that idiot could say something which had no return. <<Is she good?>> the Quidditch player asked again <<Good at what?>> Miles asked running the string out <<You’ll regret the answer,Pucey>> Draco said in a firm voice <<The only thing I regret was not taking her when I could to try how good she’s at sucking>>.
The air froze.
Your eyes were wide open at the boy’s sentece. Students began to gather around you to see what was going on;Pansy and Blaise were both unsettled and you thought Harry was almost fainting together with Fred,George and Ron. Even Hermione,who had reached you right in time to hear what the Slytherin had to say,was left speechless.
Draco was standing in front of the two boys,with you holding the sleevee of his jacket,praying for him to not lose his wits. His face was inexpressive,his eyes cold as ice. A sudden smirk appeared on his lips while he was playing with his Malfoy family ring.
Pucey burst into another laughter <<For real Malfoy,I’d pay her-he looked at you and licked his lips-let’s be friends babygirl>> you stared at him disgusted.
Draco finally made a move:stepping closer to the Slytherin. <<So weak Malfoy,so- >> Adrian’s sentece got cut of. Draco pushed him to the ground. A feet compressing the boy who couldn’t even breath,and his wand pointed at Adrian’s chin.
<<You...you little,filthy,revolting son of a bitch,pay attention to my words as they might be the last ones you will hear in your entire life. You don’t fucking even try to be disrespectful towars my girlfriend or any other girl out there or,I swear to God,I’m gonna Avada Kedavra you. No,wait,better...I’m gonna torture you until you get the painful death a cockroach deserves>>.
Draco’s eyes were now filled by a light of madness you had never seen before. Every single student was petrified. Adrian was gasping for air <<S...sorry...I...was joking...>> he whispered out of breath because his diaphram wasn’t able to lift properly.<<Oh no my dear,it’s not the right way to joke. Mommy didn’t tell you?>> Draco growled. His sharp teeth were showing,he looked like a dog ready to bite.
<<Detention for cussing and threatening a studen,Mr. Malfoy>> Piton suddenly interrupted the fight with his usual calm voice. <<Detention? For me,professor? It’s clear you haven’t heard the words Pucey delighted us with,today>> Draco glared at the boy who was now sitting but still gasping for air <<What did you say?>> the teacher asked <<Come on,tell him how you verbally harassed a girl and take responsibility of your own disgusting actions>> <<You did,Pucey?>> Piton demanded.
Adrian swallowed his spit,looking with terrified eyes at Draco who was still standing there holding his wand <<So?>> Snape asked again,the Slytherin nodded.
<<Fine. Fifthy points taken from Slytherin for cussing and threatening,and you Mr. Pucey,we need to talk. I don’t think you’ll attend your final exams this year. The match is now postponed>>. Snape ended,leaving with the Slytherin.
Draco adjusted his jacket <<Fine,has anyone else anything to say?>> the boy looked at Miles who run away as fast as he could <<Fucking coward>> he growled once again and then turned to you,clearing his throat <<I’m so sorry sweetie,nothing like that is going to happen ever again>> he said <<I’m sure about it>> you replied and then sighed a breath of relief.
Everyone was still shocked.

The days went by,you and Cedric started becoming closer. And what about that blonde Slytherin? He had been ignoring you for weeks now,he was leaving in his world where he was the king of Hogwarts and Astoria was his queen. They became the popular couple because they were hot and so much into each other. You thought Draco was into Astoria more than he was into you when you were dating,and you didn’t know whether to be happy he had forgotten you or to be so disappointed because apparently you weren’t so important anymore,and,maybe,you had never been.
You looked at the bracelet made in sapphire and emerald Draco gifted you with for your first anniversary:you didn’t know why but you were still wearing it,you couldn’t get rid of that jewel.

The two students were now pushing and hitting each other,rolling on the floor to decide who was the strongest. They yelled curses against each other until Malfoy grabbed Cederic’s neck,blocking the boy on the ground. <<If it’s not enough I can kill you right now!>>.
<<Stop,stop! You’re not animals!>> you shouted in fear,grabbing Draco by the hood of his black robe,taking him away from Cedric.
<<Are you fucking mad?>> you shouted,slapping the boy’s face <<Fuck off>> he mumbled. You offered your hand to the Hufflepuff and helped him standing up <<I’m so sorry,are you okay?>> you checked on him <<It’s not your fault and I’m fine thanks. Draco stood up,pushed Cedric away and grabbed your waist gently,kissing you on the lips. A hand caressing the side of your neck. <<Choose>> he said <<What?>> you asked <<Choose. I’m tired of pretending I like Astoria when the only thing I keep thinking about is you!>> the light of anger in Draco’s icy eyes had already left,leaving a space to a sad one. <<Let’s talk about it once you had brought Cedric to Madame Pomfrey and you had apologised to him>>

Your smile got bigger as you saw his reaction,it had been months since you last saw Draco smiling. You hated so much that man,today Draco didn’t feel so bad,he laughed and he was in the mood for studying,but Lucius had came and ruined everything once again.

You got petrified,but Draco turnded and wrapped his arms around your neck,sinking once again his face in the cloth of your shirt.
You caressed his back and sighed. Things were getting out of control and you had enough.

If you want to be Voldemort’s personal servants it’s okay,I’ll kill each one of you as soon as the war comes but don’t you fucking involve Draco. He’s not like you!>> you yelled at him <<Look at this Hufflepuff,I’m surprised of your courage,Mrs>> the man came towards you,his wand already in his hand. The silver snake on the top of it was staring into your soul:it seemed he was ready do bite and fill your body with its poison.
Draco immediately came between him and you <<Don’t you dare to hurt her>> he said,looking into his father’s eyes <<Draco,move>> he replied <<I’m not>> Draco kept staring at the man who step back <<Let’s go. You’re no longer a student of this school>> the man suddenly said,you looked at Draco <<Please don’t go...>> you muttered.
<<I said:let’s go,Draco>> Lucius kept talking in a firm and cold voice,but the boy didn’t move,he just looked down and swallowed his spit,then he held your hand <<I’m not leaving>> he said in a cold voice.Your heart ached:Draco seemed so confident but you knew he was facing his biggest fear and risking his life at the same time <<I’m sorry father. I’m not evil>> he said.
Lucius looked at him <<Stop pretending to be the hero of the situation,Draco,you got an assignment>> <<I’m not doing it,I’m not going to kill a person. I refuse to take someone’s life,father,I wouldn’t be able anyway,and you know it>>. Lucius glared at his son,a disgusted expression slowy appeared on his face <<You’re the disgrace of the family>> the man said,walking away.
You saw those words hitting Draco deep in his heart,for years he had been trying to receive appreciation from his father,he had been trying to make him happy but he had always failed and now all his chances were gone,forever.
<<You’re not a disgrace Draco-you said hugging him-you’re the best person this world could have,you’re the strongest boy I’ve ever met. Draco you have taken your choice,as you wanted>> <<I know-Draco’s arms wrapped around your shoulders,a gentle kiss was left on your head-but what’s happening know?>> he asked <<We’ll know soon,but don’t worry. Hi! So this is going to be a longer series with multiple parts and it's kind of a slowburn at least at the start but it'll get good later on I swear!
"I could kill you right now, y/l/n"
He pressed the knife deeper in to my neck, forcing me to tilt my head up. I opened my eyes and met his cold grey eyes, he was smirking. My eyes had started to tear up from frustration and I cursed myself for showing any weakness.
"…if I wanted to" he continued, letting out a small chuckle as he leaned forwards, close enough that I could feel his cold breath on my face and his hair tickling my forehead. The knife still pressed on my throat, he let go of my arms and lifted his free hand to wipe away the tear that had started its journey down my cheek.
"And nobody would even know"
Part 1, New beginnings

I shivered as I walked down the platform 9¾. The weather was starting to get chilly again.
I hopped on the train and felt the warmth seeping back into my body. I looked for a place to sit and found an empty compartment since I was among the first people coming in the train.
I sat down and let out a deep sigh. I was going to an entirely new school and leaving behind all the memories and friends I had made in Beauxbatons.
The train had started moving and I was starting to feel anxious. I would be the new girl coming to the school in their third year when everyone had already made friends. I was scared I'd get too many eyes staring at me and make no friends at all. I hated this. I wasn't really the outgoing type but I also didn't deal well with loneliness.
I was getting lost in my thoughts when I felt a tug on my sleeve. I looked down and smiled when I saw a small furry creature tugging my sleeve and trying to nip at my hands. My ferret Kelmi had climbed out of my pocket and apparently gotten tired of me not giving her enough attention.
"Hey don't bite me!" I shook her off of me. She had sunk her teeth into my hand when I hadn't pet her. I gave her an offended look and lifted her on my lap. She looked too cute to be angry at.
"At Least I have you with me right?" I scratched her back and she relaxed in my arms. I looked out the window and my thoughts started drifting.
I had fallen asleep at some point and when I woke up, Kelmi was gone. I assumed she had climbed in my trunk where she had her own little magic-made bed and cage.
I pulled out a book from my bag and started reading it. Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, I had always been interested in magical creatures and animals in general.
I didn't get far in the book though, when the train stopped. I looked out the window but we weren't at the Hogsmeade stop yet.
All the lights turned off and the temperature dropped. Screams were heard throughout the train. I saw a hooded figure floating towards me and I heard spine-chilling raspy breathing as the creature entered my compartment. I closed my eyes. I started feeling weak and helpless and felt as if all the joy in the world was fading away.
It ended almost as fast as it started. The creature had gone by the time I had opened my eyes again. I noticed the tears in my eyes threatening to spill. I felt numb. I sat there trying to get myself together for the rest of the train ride. Students were walking in the corridor and there was a slight feel of panic in the air. By the time the train stopped I had calmed myself down.
I got up and walked out of the train with the crowd. As I was heading towards black carriages that had horse-looking creatures pulling them, I heard my name being called.
"Y/n? Y/n y/l/n is that you?" I turned around to find the source of the voice and saw a curly headed girl staring at me with a shocked look on her face.
"Hermione?" I was taken aback. I hadn't seen this girl in three years. I ran to her and hugged her as she did the same.
"What are you doing here? I haven't seen you since primary school! Wait, you're a witch?" She seemed to be as confused as I was. We were best of friends in primary school before my family and I moved to france. I had no idea that she was a witch.
We hopped on a carriage together and she introduced me to her two friends, a ginger boy named Ron and a black haired boy with glasses, his name was Harry. We spent the whole ride catching up, trying to tell everything that had happened in the three years we hadn't seen each other. I told her how I got a letter from Beauxbatons and how we just recently moved back to London.
I hadn't been this happy in a long time. We were still talking excitedly as we got into the castle. We had to split up as I was instructed to go straight to the deputy headmistresses office to discuss my exchange and house sorting.
"See you at the feast?" Hermione asked
"Definitely!" I smiled as we parted ways.

I knocked on the door and came face to face with a tall and stern-looking woman.
"Come in, y/n y/l/n is it?" The tall woman said.
"Yes professor..."
"McGonagall", She smiled
"Come in and have a seat, please"
She opened the door wider and motioned towards a soft looking cushioned chair. I followed her inside and sat on the chair and felt myself sink into the soft velvet cushions. She followed and sat on a chair opposite me.
"You sent a letter asking us if we could have the sorting arranged privately, am I correct?"
"Yes," I said. I didn't like to be in front of a big crowd and even the thought of being the only third year in the middle of first years made me anxious. I didn't want people looking at me and definitely didn't want people mixing me up with first years.
"It is a tradition that first years get sorted in front of the school with a sorting hat," She started.
I shifted uncomfortably and started nipping away my nail polish nervously.
"But since you're not a first year and there's no other older students coming to Hogwarts this year we might be able to have your sorting arranged privately after the feast."
It felt like a weight had been lifted from my heart, I had never been good in front of big crowds and a private sorting was all I wanted at that moment.
"That would be amazing, thank you." I said.
She smiled down at me and said "Wait in the great hall after the feast ends, i'll help with the sorting"
"Thank you professor McGonagall" I said as I started getting up from my chair.
"No problem Miss y/l/n"

I was scanning the tables wondering where I should sit when I spotted Hermione. She met my gaze and smiled at me, motioning me to sit next to her. I walked over and sat down next to her, in front of her friends Harry and Ron. We didn't have the chance to talk much as the headmaster started his speech.
He introduced a new defense against the dark arts teacher and everyone started clapping.
"Of course, that's why he knew to give you the chocolate, Harry" Hermione said to Harry while still clapping. I didn't have a clue of what they were talking about but stayed quiet.
"Potter"
I heard a voice from the table in front of me. It belonged to a platinum blonde boy with blueish-gray eyes and green robes. I seemed to be the only one who noticed him though, so he started again:
"Potter"
Harry and Ron turned around to look at the guy who was calling for Harry.
"Is it true you fainted?" a friend of his put a hand on his forehead and mocked Harry.
"I mean you actually fainted?" he laughed and for a split second I met his cold blue, almost gray eyes.
"Shove off Malfoy" The ginger snapped at him. And they both turned back towards us.
"How did he find out?" Harry muttered while hanging his head.
"Just forget it", Hermione said.
"You fainted? Are you okay?" I asked
"Yeah I'm fine" he replied quickly and I realized he didn't want to talk about it.
"Who was that guy anyway, what's his problem?" I asked
"Draco Malfoy, he'll find any reason to piss us off. He tried to make friends with Harry in our first year and Harry denied. He has held a grudge since " The ginger said
"He's that petty?" I laughed
"It's not just us who dislikes him, he bullies people, mostly muggle born since he's what they call pureblood" Hermione scoffed
The headmaster interrupted our chatting by continuing his speech about the teachers.
Then he got to talking about the creatures in the train, dementors. Whispers were heard throughout the hall. I had to admit, they freaked me out but I knew that I'd be okay as long as I stayed away from them. He finished his speech and so began the dining.
I got to know the two boys in front of me a little better. They both liked playing quidditch, Harry told me he was the Gryffindor seeker and Ron told me about his family and how he plays with his brothers, the ginger was very eager to get to know me as well, Harry on the other hand was less talkative, I figured it was because he still felt bad about fainting.
We had finished eating and Hermione wished me good luck when the trio started heading towards the doors.

As every student had left I started thinking of sorting. I wished I'd be in Gryffindor with Hermione. I'm not really that good at making new friends and I'd really love to catch up more with her.
Ron Weasley told me about how he despises the Slytherins and the idea of becoming one didn't sound that tempting. My thoughts wondered and I remembered the blonde boy from earlier. Was he really as bad as they made him be?
My thoughts were interrupted as I saw McGonagall carrying an old, dirty looking hat into the great hall and I got up from my seat and started walking towards her. She motioned me to sit on a chair near the teachers table. She then placed the old hat on my head. To my suprise the hat started talking and moving around.
"Hmm, interesting, very interesting" the hat started.
I felt anxious. What if I didn't make any friends in my new house? What if they were all horrible? What if I got sorted into slytherin? I started thinking about how much I missed my friends back in Beauxbatons when the hat started speaking again:
"Very brave I see, also a lot of ambition.. I think you ought to go in... slytherin!" it yelled.

Draco Malfoy had no so gracefully hurt himself in quidditch, well atleast pretended very well to. As soon as he heard that you were in the great hall, he made up some ache so he he could find a peaceful place to rest with his teammates with absolutely no other intention in mind. ofcourse.
It was a lovley saturday and everyone was winding down from the extra classes to complete portions.
You were happy since a bit, a group of you were sitting in the great hall whiling away some time. You were sitting on a table with Fred on your right and Cho on your left. they were sharing food that they had stolen from the kitchen and having so much laughter and jokes shared between them, it killed Draco a little in the inside.
Draco was there, in the very same room as you.
