I just realized that the message you get if you put the titles of the final 3 TOH episodes together is a message from Luz to Eda and King.

The message is “Watching and Dreaming, For the future, thanks to them”. When Luz was sinking in the in-between she was literally thinking she should thank them. And now, thanks to them, Luz is watching and dreaming for her own future. She’s been able to embrace her weirdness and find people who she fits in with. And at the very end, Luz gets to thank Eda and King for everything.

I was rewatching the owl house and I noticed that among the graffiti Eda put on the locker in Something Ventured Someone Framed there are multiple ‘hoots’ written.

Since she went to Hexside before she was cursed it can be assumed that her love of owls predated Lilith cursing her. In addition, since the sisters seem like they used to be very close we can assume Lilith knew Eda had a thing for owls. This presents two possibilities

1. Lilith was pressured to curse Eda and since she had to do it she wanted to at least have Eda transform into something she liked

Or (the one I believe to be more likely)

2. Lilith took something she knew Eda liked and turned it into something traumatic for her as an extra way to spite her

I think the latter is more likely considering how Lilith is smart and it’d be dumb to think that Eda would still like owls as much when she’s literally cursed to turn into them. I mean, Eda does own the whole owl motif but I don’t think Lilith would’ve seen that coming

I feel like Aunt Peg from 13 Little Blue Envelopes and Eda the Owl Lady from The Owl House would get along real swell

I just watched todays episode and I feel like I just ran a marathon the emotional whiplash is strong. on another related note LETS GO LESBIANS YES IT IS CANNON AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-

when lilith said that eda had no attachments, it struck me as odd. even before luz showed up, eda had king, owlbert, and hooty, whom she loved dearly and openly. lilith must have known about owlbert and saw him every time eda had her staff, and saw king following eda around all the time. it would be understandable if she’d dismissed hooty as a home security system/monstrosity since that was the only capacity in which lilith herself knew him, but it’s interesting that she disregarded king and owlbert. eda wasn’t some loner who oh-so-secretly cared about certain people; she had friends whom she hung out with and lived with and laughed with and loved. yet lilith didn’t notice this. because none of them are fellow witches? because they’re not blood-relations? because they’re eda’s “inferiors”?

even with luz, lilith perceived her as eda’s “pet” and was visibly shocked at how much eda cared. it’s as if she expected eda to be just annoyed enough to show up and fight to get her pet back, but not angry enough to go all out with her powers as she would to protect a person she really cared about.

whether she truly knew her sister when they were kids or not, lilith doesn’t know eda now. if anyone lacks attachments, it’s lilith, whose only “friend” is her sister whom she cursed and barely talks to anymore. lilith is supposedly amity’s mentor but barely interacts with her and exploits her when she does, and isn’t seen interacting positively/respectfully with anyone else. she’s noticeably rude to those who serve/follow her. she thinks she’s better than all of them and she’s so upset thinking that eda might perceive her in the same way.

after her “crafty” win over eda, lilith said that eda was with her real family now–

–but lilith had actually taken her away from her real family. the family that loved and understood her. the family that wanted to help her, not control her like both lilith and belos wanted to do.

of course luz is important and brought light into eda’s life, but eda wasn’t alone before luz. eda had found a family of her own after lilith betrayed her and was happy that way.

on some level, lilith clearly values biological family over found family, but she also values friendships between “equals” over friendships between an “inferior” and a “superior.” if eda had befriended another powerful witch, i don’t think lilith would have been so quick to dismiss that witch as irrelevant to eda. it’s because eda’s found family consisted of non-witches that lilith so easily ignored their significance to eda. she did notice that luz was special, but only to the extent of being…a favorite pet, not a beloved person–because how could one’s “inferior” be treated as one’s equal as a friend? essentially, in lilith’s hierarchy, the most important attachment is biological family, acceptable attachments are equals/fellow witches, and frivolous attachments are inferiors/pets. it’s no wonder she values control and power over love and understanding if this is how she values others.

lilith loves eda, but she loves power and control even more. so here we are.

STILL HURTS TO THINK ABOUT THAT EPISODE, AND HOW MUCH EDA CARES ABOUT LUZ! I came for Lumity, but in the end I stayed for Eda 🥺

Luz Stans: It’s cool to have a Disney show with a protagonist like her! She’s weird, and she knows and accepts it. She’s had to put up with bullying, but she stayed strong and didn’t let it change her. She’s passionate, and when she makes mistakes, and she makes up for them. And she’s Latino!

Eda Stans: Its important to have a character like her who questions authority. She understands the way powerful, intelligent, and talented people like her are being controlled, and she never caves into pressure. And with all that, and being chased by the emperor, she still truly cares about and loves her fake children.

Amity Stans: I love her cause she’s GAY

Every time someone has found out that Luz is a human, it was by mention of it. Eda knows that Luz is a human because one of the first things she actually said to her was “That’s strange for another human to say.” When meeting Lilith, Eda has let her know that she has a human apprentice. Willow and Gus know that Luz is a human because she outright told them when she had saw them before heading to Hexside. Oh and Amity, yeah she found out after mistaking her for an abomination. Everyone else on the Boiling Isles knows because it’s hard to keep your mouth shut when you live in a magic based island and some human starts learning magic even though they don’t have the inherited ability to do so. (plus we’ve only established theories that there might be other humans there, but there aren’t many. the only thing witches, wizards and demons know about humans is that they exist, it’s not a Harry Potter; Hermione is a muggle kinda situation.)

So if Mama Clawthorne isn’t put off by the ears or have someone mention Luz is a human then maybe she’ll be put off by this:

Might I add that Luz is still getting used to things out in the Boiling Isles? So if Eda, Lilith, Luz and Mama Clawthorne went on some adventure all together she would definitely find it strange to hear Luz ask questions about common beasts or demons they encounter. She would possibly even question how long Luz has been attending Hexside as Luz is in all of the tracks. It would just be a question of basic (Hexside) student logic.

From what we know, Hexside isn’t just any school in the Boiling Isles as we’ve quickly learnt that Boscha, Skara and Amity all attend classes there. With these three witches having come from upper class / high ranking families, we know that it means something to go to Hexside. It’s like how in our world it means something to have attended USC, Stanford or Yale.

It wouldn’t be unlikely that Luz would ask questions about beasts, potions, history, or biomes while around Mama Clawthorne. In fact I think she would feel as if she’s near an older, wiser and just cooler version of Eda. So of course she would ask questions. Which is why I think Mama Clawthorne wouldn’t be put off by the ears and instantly know that Luz is a human but instead be put off by Luz’s knowledge.

If it’s not that then I think maybe she would have knowledge of what a human looks like and instantly know that Luz isn’t a witch. Kinda how Gus knew she was a human by already having the knowledge of what humans usually look like and such.

Look at all the bizarre demons in the boiling isles and how varied they look, would round ears really be that off-putting for Mama Clawthorne to not think Luz could be Eda's?

But we gotta consider that those demons are actually pretty common thing for her – she was born and raised in the Boiling Islands!

And since every other witch reacted to Luz being a human, I guess it won't be different for her;

so i need a bit of help with the eyes on this bc the line art is softer but the eyes r kinda harsh and ive tried doing lighter colors but it doesnt seem to work 

also if u have any advise/tips on anything else lemme know =)
