One last voyage: Prologue/Backstory

Pairing: Pirate!EddieMunson X Siren!Reader

Summary: Whilst Eddie and his fellow pirates are on a quest, one by one, members of his crew start to go missing. Eddie is adamant to find the culprit, whatever it takes! What happens when he falls in love…with the one who caused all of it?

Warnings: Reader has long hair, I tried to make this gender neutral but I may have mentions pronouns (I’m not sure) mentions of murder and drowning

AN: I know absolutely NOTHING about pirates and how they work so it probably won’t be correct but let’s just pretend it is😭

Fury. That’s all you felt. As you ripped your razor sharp teeth into the rotting flesh, trying to savour the taste. You don’t know when you’ll get this luxury again. It’s a rare occurrence that anyone dares to cross into your territory. Most people avoid your home unless it is absolutely necessary. Even then, they will merely pass by, never making themselves comfortable. They’ve all heard the tales of a malevolent creature, with sharp teeth, white creamy eyes and a voice as soft and sweet as honey. Terrified of what it will do to them.

So of course when you went on your morning swim only to be met with a crew of men, rooting through your possessions you felt…confused. No, angry. No…furious. Who do these men think they are? They think they can wander into YOUR land and scrabble with your belongs? Just come and go as they please? No.

You simply watched, as their grubby hands man-handled your things.

“Hey look at this!” One of the men said, holding up a gold necklace, gaining the attention of the other 2 men.

“D’ya think it’s real?” The man with dark curls asked. ‘Looks real.” He then added.

The man holding the necklace held it closer to his face, analysing it carefully. He then pulled it away and put it in a small sack he was carrying and shrugged “I’ll give it to Captain, see what he says.”

They’re stealing your things. What are they going to do with them? Are they going to sell them? Keep them for themselves? You don’t care, because you won’t let them.

Swimming slowly over to them, you make sure to keep your eyes on them. Make sure they don’t see you, at least not yet.

Once you were about 10 feet away, hidden behind a giant rock, you stopped and watched.

“Captains gonna love this.” The same man who stole your necklace, now holding up a Pearl tiara.

Your brows furrow and your eyes switch, a milky, ghostly colour. You bare your claws, releasing long, edged nails.

You swim up to the man with red hair, he looks easy. He has his back turned to you when you get there. You reach up and start to slowly caress his spine with your delicate fingers.

The man let’s put a horrified shriek and turns around, now facing you. When you finally make eye contact, his eyes go from panicked to captivated. He drops to his knees and leans in closer.

You lay your hand onto his forearm and begin tracing up his delicate skin. The man seemed to be in a trance. Not once questioning who, or what you are. Once you reach his upper arm you stop, and slowly pull yourself up so your lips are having above his ear. He can feel your breath dancing on his neck.

In your soft and sultry voice you say “come with me.”

Without thinking, the man nods. You smile, but there’s something sinister hiding behind it, something evil.

Abruptly, you dig your claws in the man’s arm, piercing the skin. This seemed to awaken the man from his hypnotic state.

He let out a bloodcurdling scream, but before he could do anything else you dragged him into the water.

Placing both hands on his neck you dragged deeper, and deeper and deeper. The terror in this man eyes stirred something in you. Excitement. Until suddenly, that terror disappeared. No emotions was left and you knew he was dead. You dropped the man and watched his limp corpse sink.

You swan quickly up onto the surface of the ocean and saw the other two men searching frantically for the now deceased man.

“VIKTOR!”

“VIKTOR WHERE ARE YOU?”

You saw this as an opportunity.

“HELP, HELP ME PLEASE OH MY GOD HELP.” You screamed, mimicking Viktors voice perfectly.

The two men turned rapidly and started running towards ‘Viktor’. Well, you but they didn’t have to know that.

“VIKTOR! Viktor where are you?”

When the men were close enough, you pounced. Grabbing one man’s leg and dragging him in, clawing at his neck and slicing the skin there. Then grabbing the next and wrapping your arms around his neck and twisting as hard, and as fast as you can. He fell limp in your arms and you leg go, giving him a light push so he starts to sink. You grab the other man and drag both him, and yourself out of the water and begin feasting.

You savour the taste, not wasting even the tiniest amount. You could get used to this. Well, chances are…their crew will come looking for them. That means more for you to feast.

A smile creeps it way onto your lips. You can’t wait.

Part 1

“What did you just say?” Eddie growled.

“They’re gone Captain.” Eddies trusty sidekick, Dustin repeated. He continued on “We only found Benjamin’s body, it was horrible, Captain. He must of been attacked or something, no sign of the others.”

Eddie furrowed his brows and turned his head to face Dustin. “Attacked? By what?”

“I don’t know Captain, must have been a shark or something…” Dustin paused, then squinted his eyes, he was deep in thought “although whatever it was definitely had claws, and last time I checked sharks don’t have those.”

“Huh…” Eddie nodded his head once and lightly bit his bottom lip, thinking. “Well, whatever it was we have to find it. It can’t just kill our men and get away with it.”

Eddie turnt around and faced the remaining crew members. “We sail at dawn!”

A crowd of rowdy crew mates burst into cheers, then “Ay Ay Captain!”

Eddie swung his body around and made his way into the quarterdeck. He sat down in his chair, laying back and staring up at the ceiling. Who killed them? Why? His head was racing with unanswered questions. Will they come after us now? No, surely not. It was probably an animal!

Eddie laid his head back and relaxed, eyes fluttering closed letting him enter into an eternal dreamland.

You could see it in the distance. The imposing figure of the pirate ship loomed of the otherwise empty void of the ocean. The enormous sails bulging with the force of the cold breeze. A group of clearly drunk pirates danced and paraded around the deck, not a care in the world. The rhythmic sounds of pirate shanties, songs of the sea, echoed through the wooden pirate ship as the crew sang all in unison.

You were ready. Oh, you were so ready. But it was not time. Only when the sky dims and the moon rises, will you attack.

Hours passed, it was time. The vast horizon of the midnight sky stretched out before you. Littered with twinkling stars and the glowing moonlight, illuminating the sea of water beneath it. You swam slowly, making you way around the ship when you eyes fixated on your next victim.

The pirate sat on the deck, transfixed by the beauty of the oceans vast expanse below him.

The siren crept closer to the ship, your eyes fixed on the lonesome pirate. As you approached, you sang your haunting melody, your voice drawing the pirates attention to your captivating glow.

Your haunting melody echoed through the still of the night, drawing the pirate closer and closer. Your clear, piercing voice beckoned the pirate towards you, as you pressed yourself against the side of the ship. The pirate stood frozen, caught in your spell as you sang your seductive voice straight into his heart.

When he was close enough, you grabbed him by the hand and pulled him into the body of water which you called your home. You bit a large chunk from his neck and spat it back out, letting it float and then slowly sink. Holding his limp body, you look into his cold, dead eyes.

In one swift movement you throw his body back onto the ship, and leave. You want to leave him as a warning. Hopefully now these pirates will realise. Realise, just exactly what you will do to each and every one of them if they don’t leave your land alone.

“Captain! Captain!” One of the crew mates begin, banging on The Captains door.

Eddie let’s put a deep sigh and rolls his eyes. What has a man gotta do to have some peace? He just wanted a nap!

He forced himself to get up, dragging his body over to the door. “Dustin I swear someone better be dead.” As he swung open the door to reveal the face of his right hand man, Dustin. Not one ounce of amusement evident.

“Captain…Michael’s Dead.”

Eddie had nothing to say. God, why did he have to make that joke? Especially now!

“What the hell happened?”

“Gareth found him this morning, right outside on the deck. A chunk was missing out his neck.”

“Show me.”

Dustin lead the captain over to the body of their friend. A small crowd had gathered around Michael’s corpse. Eddie pushed his way through the others and ended up right in front of the body.

The captains heart raced and he froze in horror. Eddies heart sank as he realised his friend was gone. Another victim of the unknown.

“Jesus H Christ!” A surge of anger rumbled over Eddie. He looked over at his remaining crew mates. What once was 10 of his closest friends and fellow pirates, was now 6. This mysterious creature that keeps killing of his team, had now killed 4 of his people. What if It attacked again? No. He wouldn’t let it happen.

Eddie vowed that whatever it was that is eliminating his own, will pay. No matter what, he will protect his people. The dead will be avenged. He will make sure of it.
