Just like that, there's a whole reason to exist. Julian & Bea are over the moon to have this baby in their arms at last. After a lifetime of waiting, Julian has the kind of family he's always wanted and he vows to give his them everything he can. Welcome to the world little Eden!
in this together
A lot of work is being put into making sure that Eden has everything she needs. Spooky day takes a back burner to finishing work projects and turns taking care of the little peanut, though they manage to give out candy to a couple of cute pirates. Even exhausted at the end of night, Julian & Bea still manage to find a few moments to come back to each other. 🖤
the little things
Julian & Bea are finding the key to managing their newfound responsibilities is slowing down the pace & trying to be present in every moment. It's somehow making the time fly even faster.
a day to remember
Eden is growing more and more everyday. She gave her parents the cutest first smile! She's even grown out of her newborn bassinet and toys have slowly taken over what little room they had left. No one seems to mind if it means Eden stays happy & healthy.
out & about
Julian & Bea take Eden on her first outing to the local community center. They hope that she'll nap so they can both get some work done, but baby girl has other ideas. She's not sleeping unless it's in someone's arms. Julian takes the first shift - he might not be getting anything done, but Eden resting peacefully is more than worth it.
hitting those milestones
It's amazing to see Eden doing so many new things. Julian watches in awe as she conquers lifting her head and reaching for a toy in just one play session. After all that hard work, Eden ends the day having her first bubble bath with Bea. Look out world, Eden's on her way to doing big things! (just after this nap...)
what we have is more than enough
Julian couldn't muster up anything super special this Harvestfest, but truthfully he doesn't feel like he needs anything else. He has Bea, who he loves more with everyday together & Eden, who just keeps surprising him with all she does. His family is growing in the home he built for them - Julian is beyond grateful to be at this place in life.
morning with mom
With no room inside the house for her easel, Bea has been having to go into the art studio to work - which has meant a lot of early mornings where she's gone before Eden wakes up. The burn out was really starting to hit so Bea decides to take a day off to stay home with the peanut. 10/10 recommend.
on the move
Eden is sitting up all on her own these days! Julian thinks it's great time to introduce her to solids for the first time and although she's not too sure about hummus just yet, it was fun to try. When they're finished Julian puts Eden down to play. She's having fun learning new things, but still just wants someone to hold her & Julian is happy to cuddle her any time.
getting older
It doesn't seem like that long ago Julian was moving into Evergreen Harbor with nothing but a tent. Young adulthood brought so much more than he could've imagined. Today he celebrates the beginning of the next stage with his family & friends - bring it on!
a night to remember
To end off the birthday festivities Julian & the gang head into the backyard to enjoy unusually warm winter weather. Bea & Julian muse to Eden about the plans they have to expand the house. For now they use the extra space to capture some photos, so they never forget a night like this.
making improvements
Their hard work has really paid off! After months of saving Julian & Bea are able to reach their goal of expanding the house. It's amazing what a little more space allows you to fit in. With Eden growing like a weed they'll definitely have to add a second floor, but right now they still want to always have her close.

hard at work play
Eden sure knows how to keep Julian entertained. He's started playing lots of music for her when she's awake and her first words were babbling along to the record player. All that excitement leads to Eden's first creep & a nap right there on the floor.
crawling into the holidays
Julian couldn't be happier to have room for a tree this winter to show Eden the holiday spirit. It was mesmerizing for a moment, that is until she figured out how to crawl - look out Father Winter!
winter festivities
Julian & Bea like to keep it simple for the holidays - Julian is still a freegan after all. Despite not exchanging gifts, the Matos family share a grand breakfast spending quality time together. It's one of the things that fills Julian with the most joy in life. Grateful doesn't even begin to describe it.
taking care of business
It's not always sunshine & rainbows, but looking at that little smile makes the dirty work a little less bothersome.
the end & the beginning
For New Year's Eve Julian & Bea are way too tired to go out anywhere so they stay in to share a toast & some much needed affection. Let the new year begin!
a little assistant
With clients work to catch up on after the holidays Julian has to bring Eden with him to the community center to get things done. She mostly does great until she tries to crawl off, but Julian is right on her tail & Bea drops in on her way home to pick Eden up. Teamwork makes the dream work, ya know.
a labor of love
Winter begins to thaw & Julian surprises Bea with bee boxes, a flowering arranging table, and planter boxes. With the house more built out they can settle into the back garden, getting closer to their goal of being more self-sufficient. Love day for these two always includes their love for nature.
spring in bloom
Bea wastes no time of the first warm day of spring planting flowers and veggies in her new garden. She creates her first floral arrangement and feels so excited to have a new outlet for her creativity that includes her love of gardening.
