Enemy Design - Tumblr Posts
Brutes were the first enemies i designed for the game. They are slow and easy to stun, which is intended to make them into good punching bags when paired with their bulkiness. They are also one of the few enemies in the game that won't attack until provoked. Music: high seas by brainiac256 from opengameart
Many call combat in games a dance, and it's quite the appropriate comparison as your sparring partners matters as much as yourself during these performances. When you see the bosses and enemies that are most beloved, it's not a coincidence that they often are those most able to interact with the player and display their personality during the battle.
Bayonetta 3 Tone Critique - Enemies
Very minor spoilers ahead. I try to cut them out as much as possible, but this post won’t really be of much use to people who haven’t played the game anyway.

As the intended first level, Shaded Coast features a pretty tame selection of enemies, ranging from slow bulky brutes, cowardly spearmen, frail gunners, and troublesome shields. It's a common trope for early-game enemies to feature bandits and this game does not plan to be an exception. None of these ruffians are particularly dangerous, but each is meant to serve a niche as they ease the player into the combat and level design with simple attack patterns and mechanics. Do be careful around the flamethrower guys through, those are your first taste of a mid-tier foe and they hurt quite a bit.

Anyway, i think we should go. Our girl not having a good day.

Recently made an idle animation for the rivetgunner. It's nothing complicated but they are pretty useful to flesh out the world by showing the enemies' personalities and dynamics outside of combat.

The game has a rudimentary stealth system where lady can use the environment to sneak and ambush enemies. Her foes will quickly become aggressive if they see or hear her coming through.

hmmm, some creepy statues around here...

Been working on a few more forgotten(undead) foes. This one is a variant of the berzeker.

Krogue are fast and agressive but can only use melee attacks like claw swipes and pounces. You should be safe from them as long as you keep your distance...wait was it it doing?
Just realized that i didn`t post this old clip of Lady fighting a coven berzeker on Tumblr yet. Needed to rectify that since it's one of my favorites....Why?....reasons...

So that`s how you clean those high shelves...

Here`s a sample of what you can find in the almanac, your very own compagnon guide to the world of Narkaas and its residents. Here you will be able to unlock files about each of the characters, weapons, locations, bosses, and even some stories as you progress through the game and collect mysterious colored pages through exploration.
There may even be some secrets revealed to those who find every missing page in the game.
Couple of years ago, i saw a stream of an amazingly bad game called "Dark Shadows - Army of evil" Just take a look at this incredible story! "An army of evil, named "Dark Shadows", have been ravaging the country like a plague of locusts for over a year and are frightening the people with their scary get-up. Most people still think they are monsters. But they are only in disguise. While you were away these monsters stormed the castle. A woman named Katerina has been kidnapped. It is not just any woman. You are in love with her. They’ve also taken all the gold. All the taxes. And weapons! You are the only one who can help Katarina. You must hurry and follow them before they do something to her." Anyway, since i found the concept so funny at the time, i ended up spoofing it in a small fangame and came up with these "monsters"

So in order we got goblins, spiders, demons, skeletons (wearing those black suits with a skeleton drawn on it), and my favorite, the mimic. I wouldn`t really recommend playing it as its both very old and most of the humor is references to a small and obscure streamer i followed at the time (i dont think they even stream anymore) but for anyone interested aniway.
