you simply couldn’t believe it. some fucking friends you had. what kind of friends invites you to your favorite arcade just to ditch you for some upperclassman they just met there?

whatever there’s nothing i can do anyways, im suck in an arcade with no ride. i don’t think even playing games with make me feel better.

still, you went to play a few games of basketball but couldn’t help get distracted by a black haired boy poorly playing your favorite shooting game, you decid not to do anything since its none of your business and you were already having a shitty evening.

later you play a claw machine but end up continuously losing but seeing the boy continuously lose as well made you smile and you couldn’t help but say something. i mean, you know you said you wouldn’t but he really was butchering the game, its just simply helping. right? its not like your doing this because he’s also somewhat attractive or something?- shaking off your thoughts you get up from the from the claw machine and make way to him.

“your aim is pretty bad” you say teasing the boy thats trying his hardest but failing to concentrate on his game “i can help you? not to brag but im pretty good at this game.”

he looks back at you for a moment, nodding while trying to focus on both the game and you at the same time. “yeah go ahead” he says putting his arm out in attempt to pass you the toy gun from his hand.

you shake your head “theres no need for that just put your gun up”

he looks back at you confused for a moment but does as he’s told. putting his gun up and aligning it to his targets once again.

you stand next to him holding his gun along with him, carefully aligning it so its better.

you and the the boy were so close you were sure he could hear your breathing. you were also hoping he couldn’t hear how fast your heart was beating in this moment. disregarding all this you continue being close, not backing away simply looking at him for a moment, admiring his features. that was until the buzzing sound of *you lose* from the game started going off. distracted the both of you were had forgotten about the zombies you had to kill.

backing away, clearing his throat awkwardly from the whole situation that just occurred. niki began speaking, “uhm y-yeah it looks great uhm- but can you help me a bit more? i don’t think i have the hang of it just yet. theres still another round?”

you chuckle to what he was implying “yeah sure” going back to your original placement but this time holding the boys hand to hold the gun simultaneously is making your stomach flip. the game countdown starts 3,2,1 still you manage to perfectly place the gun, go! shooting its targets gracefully.

you back away this time to look at the boy face to face introducing yourself, “im y/n by the way” offering a hand out for a handshake.

niki chuckles a bit at your formality, shaking your hand back “im niki, you’re really good. you should give me lessons sometime.”

you think about it for a moment but theres no way he’s getting a date from you this easily so you being you, decide to milk it. “i dont know… ill make you an offer though?”

niki reacts with a downturn smile, “mm, that being?”

“you have to get me that minion plush” you say pointing to the claw machine behind him that you were previously struggling with.

niki smirks raising an eyebrow “of course, i can do that easy. just watch.”

niki slowly awoke to see you only inches away from his face with a faint smile as you admired him, “good morning” you said as you kissed him on his forehead. he backed away quickly, his widened eyes in shock, “w-what are you doing here y/n?” you laugh at his question like it was a silly thing to ask. “niki what are you talking about?” his eyebrows tightened, “but y-you’re at home? you’re not here with me...” his eyes became watery as his confusion shifted into sadness. he was aware you weren’t actually with him. “i- i miss you so much y/n” he said as he pulled you into a hug, tightly wrapping his arms around you as he began to sob. “i want to go home but i cant. you’re home”

niki awoke in his hotel bed with dried tears in his eyes. that dream was too real, too cruel.

niki’s day went on and finally ended after another draining concert. exhausted, he sat on the hotel bed resting his head against the headboard, he sighs deeply as he restrained himself from crying. it was all crashing down, all the feelings he pushed aside towards the dream he had this morning all coming back to him.

unwillingly tears trickled down his face, he couldn’t handle it anymore. his heart ached, he was so physically and mentally exhausted and you. you weren’t here to make it better. he missed your touch, your kisses and cuddles.

he thinks that ultimately it could be worse. you do call and text after every concert but— its not the same.

his phone next to him lit up as the words on the screen illuminated “incoming facetime from y/n <3”

he quickly wiped his tears before answering and made sure his face wasn’t showing on screen to prevent you from seeing his puffy eyes.

he only showed the ceiling of the room as he picked up. “h-hey y/n.” he stuttered and his voice came out shaky. you look at your screen took aback, it was obvious something was wrong. you softly asked, “niki, is something wrong?” you could hear faint sniffing coming through your end of the phone as he responded, “no nothing.. i just— really miss you y/n” his voice sounded dejected, it broke your heart to hear. “me too.. i miss you too niki” he slowly showed his face to the camera, the room was darkly lit with only the lamp on, his cheeks a pink hue and had tears streaming down his face. “but- it’s different, i- i cant do this without you.”

you sighed as you quickly adapted to the situation you have to be strong for him and for you, but being honest seeing your boyfriend in this state made you want to cry as well. be strong. you have to find out what happened for his emotions change so significantly in only a days time. “‘ki- what caused this, i swear you you fine yesterday? did something bad happen?” he shook his head, “no, nothing bad happened..” “is that really true niki.” his lips turned into a slight pout, “its just i ..i had a dream last night that you were here. it felt so real and i knew it was fake. i knew it was a dream but i felt you here. it was such a cruel dream.”

trying your best to shift his mood you put on a smile, “i know its been hard for us but we can push though it, we have before yeah?” he nods his head to that, “yeah we did.” you giggle, “and we will again.” he wipes his tears, sighing dramatically as he rolls his eyes, “i do miss your kisses though” you laugh, “ill make sure to give you tons of kisses when you get home” he moves the phone extremely close to his face, “you better, i’ve been deprived enough” you suddenly come up with an idea, “niki get closer to the camera” he lowly chuckles, “uhh okay” as he approaches to get closer you rush to quickly kiss the camera “there a kiss” he lets out a surprised laugh before saying, “wait i didn’t get to kiss you back”

when niki also received a text from his manager stating that he was going to do a tiktok challenge for your new comeback “easy” he was ecstatic. of course he was nervous seeing that this would be the first time he would be speaking to you but it shouldn’t be too much of a problem, he is an extrovert after all.

the next day went by quickly as he had you to look forward to seeing. he had just finished with vocal practice when he decided to wait earlier than told to just in case you came early; which would probably not be the case but he was too eager to wait any longer.

the clock was at 4:35pm as he entered the training room, number thirteen. he plopped himself down on the floor as he scrolled on his phone, not that it helped calm down his nerves though as minutes were seemingly to be going slower as he continuously checked the time.

it wasn’t until 4:58pm when he finally heard a noise. the entire training room remained silent as he listened to the noise that seemed to be coming from the door. was it you? to his displeasure, it wasn’t. the door opened to reveal a staff members bringing in lighting, a phone stan and you. wait what? it is you!?

you walked in the room as you politely greeted the staff with a smile. you’re finally meeting the boy your friends said was supposedly starting at you, being truthful you were also little excited to. you finished your greetings and finally made eye contact with the person you came for in the first place. he stared at you up at down with a death glare before he bowed slightly as he maintained eye contact. weird..? you did the same, bowing normally before speaking, “um do you know the dance?” he stayed silent as he shook his head no. “oh haha thats no problem i can teach you” he agreed and you started teaching him the moves of the dance, after less than 5 minutes he already learned the segment of the dance impressive.

the two of you began filming and got the perfect video after three tries, ending the dance by doing a hand heart with eachother that was recommended by the staff. you thanked staff for the work and politely said your goodbyes (including to niki) and went back to work.

it wasn’t until you left that niki realized he didn’t say a word to you.
