@creekfiend​ keeps accusing my dogs of having small ears, which delights me to no end for the following reasons:

1) Haru’s ears are actually slightly larger than they appear, because they tilt forward. It’s part of the breed standard and makes them look smaller and more rounded when looking straight on. This is just a fact that I find fun.

2) Haru’s mom Cosmia has giant bat ears that she got from the Hosoda dogs in her background, which is a hunting line of Kishu who are excellent on boar and big on ears. I didn’t expect to improve significantly on this in her puppies, so it’s a nice surprise.

3) When Shoko was like 6 months old I sent a picture of her to her breeder, who replied “oh lol, I hope she grows into those ears!” and I have been embarrassed by the size of her ears ever since.

4) “Lia’s dogs have small ears” factoid actually just a statistical error. Lambchop “Longears” Creekfiend, whose ears are a mile high, is an outlier and should not have been counted.
