Well I just got a new fanfic idea this is so sad and yet so perfect at the same time

first night alone

Trolls AU (Hypnosis Au)

A unique idea I've had What If instead of music being the main ruling deciding factor of things in the trolls universe there was something else that also allowed people to have power hypnosis more accurately my manipulation as there's multiple different types of this

The best part is is that depending on your type of music it will determine what kind of manipulation you're born with naturally

Are protagonist Branch is a unique case as he's the only troll in the entire known trolldome to be born with out a hypnotic ability of his own which makes things a little more interesting for branch instead of being ostracized for this lack of ability a lot of trolls actually see him as a light in the darkness they see him as something special and that means everyone's going to be vying after him even our other lead Poppy who isn't in the best state

But trust me when I say if poppy is in a bad state to the point where she feels like she needs him in her life just imagine what everyone else in his life is going to be like

I'm talking every single character that branches met specifically in the movies with one TV show cameo as this character is just as important as the rest of them

All the other troll tribes want him too for different reasons some more selfish than the others and mind you this unique ability well it's mostly seen in trolls can work on any species and can even be developed on in any species like the bergens and Mount regions

Poor Branch is in for a wild ride as his life will never be the same

I love your Trolls Hypnosis Au so far! Floyd is giving me Poison Ivy vibes! I'm guessing that Brozone in this au is evil as well of the rest of the trolls. How does Branch react to his brothers in this au?

In the beginning (because of a few spoiler things that I won't say just now) he looks up to his big brothers and will believe anything they tell him. He sees them as heroes and trusts them more than anybody else (at least for now)

But as the story progresses he starts to slowly realize that something was definitely off about his brother's behavior

And while he tries to give his brothers the benefit of the doubt he will inevitably find out their true nature, their true intentions… and what they've really been doing with their powers when he's not looking.

He'll essentially go through an internal conflict having to choose between believing in the brothers who could be lying to him or believe in his friends who might be hiding the truth

But I'll say it right now his brothers aren't the only ones Branch needs to be wary of

And as for his brothers they're Not entirely good but they're Not entirely evil either. They're possessive, crazy and very Very manipulative, but they do care about the trolls around them… just to a lesser extent (but at the same time it could be a lie)

But to be honest after everything they went through… can you really blame them

Any questions about Floyd or any of the other brothers I'll be willing to answer but it's not just them there's a boatload of characters that I cannot wait to get into so if you guys have any questions I'd be more than happy to see what you guys can come up with

Do Floyd and Branch have a close relationship in your Trolls hypnosis au or is it strained? P.S, I love your design for Floyd!

Yes branch is closed with all of his brothers but Floyd is the one he grew closest to but not for the reason Branch thinks

He thought that they were close because they were close in age and since he looked up to his big brother and saw him as an awesome inspiration he loves spending time with him and learning as much as he could

Floyd on the other hand always knew they were close because of his love for branch but also because of branches curiosity and willingness to learn, unlike the other brothers he never got mad when he found out Branch would be sneaking out of the house but he also would never be happy about that either after all he's just as protective and possessive as the rest of them

but unlike his brothers he knows how to keep his emotions in check… or more accurately how to suppress and push down his negative emotions

After all… He's a master of reading emotions

Shadow house Shirley and Rum Headcannons

(This is implying if they did pass the debut also spoilers for the characters and the story)

Shirley

Speaks in the first person whenever she's alone with Rum

Because of Shirley's lively and mischievous personality she absolutely loves to pull pranks on the other shadows and also makes herself look like a victim of the older shadows it's her way of getting back at their dolls for hurting Rum

Unlike Louise who only sees Lou as her face Shirley loves Rum for who she is her shy, timid personality makes her want to hug her no matter what

The only person she actively lets get away with hugging and touching Rum is Emilico because she understands that those two are good friends and she trusts Kate

She sees John as like a big brother figure and he sees her in the same way he actually finds her pranks to be quite funny

Compliments Shawn for how intelligent he is and tells him to take good care of his master because she sees John as being hopeless

She's like MaryRose in the sense that she remembers that she was a morph which is why after they pass the debut she tells Rum that she wants to do a mirror impression with her

She's the one who puts her accessories and does her hair in a mirrored style to Rum so that way anytime they're out and about they can't say that they're breaking Shadow house rules since Rum is technically copying everything she's doing

In reality by doing the mirror impression she actively is defying Shadow house but she makes it seem like she's not because that's how mischievous she is

She gives Rum her lavender bow back because she knows for a fact that that lavender bow on her finger didn't belong to her in the first place

Because her soot power allows her to transform by wearing the soot she admits from herself she takes a great interest in learning sewing so she can make other people's outfits to make the transformation look more believable

She also never told the shadows house that she developed her soot power because she doesn't want to that's a Secret between her and Rum

Whenever she's outside her room she never admits any soot showing how she never lets her emotions get the better of her but when she's in her room her power is so high that she makes soot scalactites meaning she's on par with Kate with how much so she can create

She doesn't like Barbie but she doesn't mind Barbara, this is because from her own experience she knows that the living doll doesn't defy the actual Shadow mistress/master their representing

She knows for a fact that Barbara has a crush on rum which is why she purposely lets them dance together whenever she gets the chance

She gets super jealous when other people try to get close to Rum because she wants to keep her for herself

Because of her sewing skills she likes to dress up Rum like a baby doll in all different types of colors

She'll take off Rum's portrait whenever they're outside of her room on purpose so that way the two can talk to each other even when they're not supposed to be and will take the blame for whenever Rum is about to get in trouble and blame it on Edward since people genuinely don't believe that she's a mischievous person because instead of Rum making faces to represent her Mistresses personality surely actually copies Rum's shy personality in order to keep the shadows house unaware about her true intentions

Likes hanging out with a living dolls more than she likes hanging out the shadows

Even though her soot power is physical at first the more and more she practices it with rum the more becomes the third type of soot power in the sense of it can mess with other shadows and it's all thanks to Rum gaining soot from other Shadow Masters and giving it to her mistress to try for herself

When Shirley eats another person's soot she's able to transform into them even if she's never seen the shadow themselves and after a long time of improving her power she can also use another person's slip power if she's so desires allowing her to gain all three types of powers physical mental and the unspoken type

This makes her one of the strongest shadows Shadow house has to offer but they have no idea about that because she never lets them know so she's never gets to take the special lessons because she doesn't want to

She lets Rum where her clothes because she thinks she looks beautiful in them

Doesn't like to see Rum be treated as nothing more than a mere face

Will transform into the bow on rum's finger to follow her when she has to do morning cleaning

Thinks Louise is developing a crush on rum but at the same time she thinks everyone is because that's how highly she thinks of her living doll

Enjoys dancing with MaryRose but will actively take Rum's portrait off there since it's a private space for a few minutes before the other dolls can get there

Studying can be quite hard for her since she's as smart as rum but doesn't have the same memory so rum tends to remember things for her

Loves to admire the plants sometimes we'll even draw them if she finds the time and will take some back to her room to continue making outfits for Rum based off those flowers

After learning that the research team makes perfumes based off of the flowers in the greenery she tries her hardest to learn how to do that too

Her favorite instrument is a harp and she learns sheet music pretty quickly

She likes the fact that Patrick is a bit more gentle with Rum than any other Shadow she's seen

During the debut Ricky tells surely not to worry because he's sure Rum will come and save her, well after they pass the debut she thanks him for telling her that because in her eyes he was actively looking out for her "darling Rum" and takes him calling her (scary because of her silence) as a compliment

Purposefully uses her transformation power to sneak into the kitchen and grab different types of food for Rum to eat

Doesn't like Sarah but enjoys Mia's company (she won't admit it but Sarah sometimes scares her)

Rum

Her mistress gives her cute compliments and pet names, even when they're outside of her room she calls her that on purpose as a way to differentiate her the Shadow from her living doll

Always gets nervous whenever her mistress has her take off her portrait while they're outside of her room

Thanks to Emilico she's able to speak with her finger more often something surely tends to copy whenever they're outside of their room

Sleeps in her Mistresses bed more often than normal (Shirley tells her to come sleep in her bed because she doesn't like being separated from her)

Thanks to Shirley she's able to make friends with other shadows and living dolls

Secretly touch starved which is why she likes it when her mistress or her friends hold her in the way that they do

The youngest out of the entire debut class so everyone feels an immense amount responsibility to protect her

Always gets nervous around Barbie because of Mistresses Barbara interest in her

Gets flustered whenever John compliments her whether it's in public or in private

Patrick loves spending time with her and enjoys talking about flowers with her and was horrified to find out that mistress Shirley was in a trap with poisonous flowers surrounding her

Louise actively teaches her how to stay physically healthy and she lets Louise use her soot power on her on purpose so that way whenever she needs to act confident she can

Cry's tears of joy whenever Shirley tells her just how much she loves her

Get super embarrassed whenever she wears an outfit her mistress makes her

When she drank the coffee and was back under the brainwashing of the house she was surprised to have her mistress tell her to put on her outfit and when they looked in the mirror together she called herself her "Mistresses face" which terrified her Shirley's fear and worry for her is what helped her break out of the brainwashing

Collect soot from other shadows whenever she starts cleaning in order to bring them back to her mistress

The only person who knows about their secret is Kate that's because she told Emilico

Likes it when Emilico worries about her

When her patients is pushed to her breaking point her personality becomes the exact opposite of her normal personality or Shirley's. Instead of being incredibly mischievous and playful, or shy and nervous, she becomes angry and sarcastic rolling her eyes and getting pissed off at the smallest thing something surely definitely enjoys because it allows her to see a different side to her living doll but it scares everyone else

Because of how shy and timid she is as a living doll everyone assumes that her mistress must be the same and she gets nervous when her mistress decides to use that to their advantage

At first when she did the mirroring act with Shirley before they left their room she was worried she wouldn't be able to handle it so when surely decided to have them communicate with their hands more and made things much easier

After Shirley gave her the lavender bow she was of course terrified by that prospect but when she put it back on her finger she remembered who originally gave her the idea to do that in the first place and she was able to gain her memories of the outside world back much quicker than Emilio did

Because of her photographic memory she's able to remember a lot of things even under the influence of the brainwashing including the form mistress takes whenever she spies on her

Isn't used to compliments so when she was called the super living doll room because of how smart she is she was blushing out of her mind

Is good friends with Maggie a person on her team but surprisingly Doug has also taken a good interest in her and so has Oliver and Susanna

Because of Shirley actively getting mad at the twins for what their dolls did to Rum, whenever they have their daily cleaning the Bell twins sometimes will treat her better and over time actively try to become our friends once they realize just how nice Rum really is

Her innocence and pure Heart combined with her adorable face makes her attractive and easy to approach to many shadows and living dolls, but the one person SHE actively goes to however outside of her friends is Barbara

Her and her mistress are Dorothy's favorites they don't know it but Dorothy really enjoys them… she was the one who picked them out during the selection after all

Dorothy purposefully sent them a gift which was a pet morph the other adults knew about it too but they don't know why she sent it to them out of everyone else to begin with

Shirley doesn't want to become an adult because she knows she'll lose rum if she does and rum doesn't want to lose surely either

They're on good terms with Lulu and Lorelei mistress (Lorelei actively likes Rum and Lulu thinks it's cute because their personalities are so similar yet so different, same thing goes for Candy and Stella)

Matilda finds rum quite adorable and loves to tease her about how cute she is

Candy and Stella are also good friends with them. Candy tries to help Rum become more confident and Stella always hides behind rum and Shirley whenever candy gets angry at her

Has a crush on everyone in her debut class especially emilico

Actively tries to show Shawn what she's capable of, after he complimented her saying that she has guts she wants to show him more of that as a way to prove it to herself

Blushes whenever Ricky pets are on the head even if he's copying his master, and she enjoys when Ricky actively looks out for her so she tries to do the same for him

Always gets nervous whenever Louise talks about how beautiful Lou is but when they're alone Lou makes it clear that she thinks Rum is prettier not because of any makeup she wears but because of her genuine kindness and she never lets her emotions stop her from trying to improve

She gets her rejoicing party coffee sent to her personally because the last time they gave it to her she pretended to choke on it making it seem like the Starbearers were actively trying to hurt her, this was a part of Shirley's plan to get the coffee so she can grow stronger by drinking it since it has some of the Lord grandfather soot in it

Rarely wears makeup even when they're outside of her room she only wears it in front of Barbara or Louise

Sometimes will act like a veiled doll thanks to one of the outfits mistress Shirley made for her in order to find out more information for her team

Does Branch have any allies in the Hypnosis au?

Yes and no

At first when he wants to run away he doesn't have anybody but Poppy who despite the fact that he blindly trusts, she doesn't trust herself, so she herself doesn't see him as an ally

But over time he gains allies because of his kind and earnest heart and honesty including some original characters that I've been thinking up for a while like the Flower Children and own version of Rhonda (that isn't an armadillo bus)

You mention that a lot of other trolls like Branch in your au. Do these trolls have a crush on him or do they just want him because of his lack of hypnosis ability? (Sorry that I'm asking a lot of questions lately!)

That's a good question and here comes a vague mixed answer

Yes and no not all the trolls are as selfish as the pop trolls, but not all of them are as kind as the flower children are, not to mention not all of them are as perceptive

For example Prince D was able to figure out that Branch had no powers from the moment he met him but just wanted to get it confirmed by Branch first, but Barb when she first met him couldn't really tell not because she's not smart but because she's not as perceptive

It always varies from troll to troll what their intentions motives and endgame are when they meet branch

Who says the fun one can't be serious? He might look dazzling with all his crystals but do not get on his bad side… if you don't want him to learn your secrets that is… better keep your thoughts in check if you don't want them rummaged through… One Way or another and when he does so you're screwed

Even a heartthrob knows how to be in control. From making his fans swoon, to his fantastic dancing this handsome devil will always find a way to play with your heartstrings… resist him all you like but he'll ensnare your heart faster than you realize. Just don't say anything rude about his cooking or you're…dead meat

The scars on his face will actually be explained in the story but I wouldn't mind answering the question if anyone has it

Just like Floyd's The highlighted parts of their quotes (or my descriptions) give you hints as to what their powers are

But this time it also gives you hints of to their skills

Bruce was the first character I ever designed with partially closed eyes

(once I finish John Dory I plan on making a post explaining the brother's skills, and the skills are vitally important to why their powers have become the way they are and I'll actually reveal the names of their powers as well if you couldn't guess based off the photos)

I'm willing to answer any questions about the characters I've already posted about but if you have questions about other characters and I'm more than happy to answer those too. Also I don't think I made this clear my last character post but, these are basically like Posters. Their character designs will come after I finish Branches poster where you actually get a good shot of what they're wearing, rather than giving hints of their powers, (cuz that was the whole point of these posters just to have some fun with them). Design-wise I do have different outfits in mind for them

Are the Bergens and Velvet and Veneer in your Hypnosis au?

The Bergens and the Mount Ragions do exist in this world alongside a few other fantasy creatures that I'm going to come up with

However the Bergens are not the reason why the pop trolls had to leave the troll tree it was a different creature

The trolls power is also extend to these creatures, being more effective on some creatures than others and the Mout Ragions also have their own version of these Powers but instead of something they're born with it's something they research

John Dory

Whether it's the leader of brozone, or the sole proprietor of his family, John Dory will do anything in his power to protect the ones he loves. His songs are quite lovely don't you think as soon as they come out of his mouth it almost feels like you'd be willing to do ANYTHING he asks nobody ever questions it… not even his own family but why… why is it that when he asks you… or demands something of you you can't seem to remember after you're done… how strange

He's going to be one of the more dangerous characters of my story

Just like his brothers he's not completely good but he's not completely evil either

Has a massive rivalry with hype from kensit mainly because they're both leaders of their bands and they have different opinions on how they should take care of branch

I can't wait to start writing about his power it's one of the more difficult to pin down

Does Branch live his brothers or does he live in his bunker in your au? Or maybe they all live in the bunker?

I've been thinking about this question for a while so it's about time I answered

I've been wanting to draw this idea for a good long time. Branch does indeed have a bunker but it's actually two bunkers: one for his brothers and him and the other is for his other band Kimset, they didn't know that Brozone had already made a bunker because they only saw them in a treehouse a home that they made separate from the PODS of Pop village

I'm starting to realize I'm a big fan of this person's work. I mean just look at it it's amazing, even stuff that isn't lukanette based somehow still manages to take my breath away but how beautiful it is

(it's perfect for coming up with new fanfic ideas) 🤫

I came up with a similar head Cannon for shadow house if Shirley ever did this to Rum, but it sounds scarier coming from this perspective… I love it

(I mean who wouldn't want to be treated like a dress up doll)

I don't know why I think the brothers would mess with Branch's clothes, how they look at his wardrobe and say no, no, no.

I feel like they would try to make Branch wear something like their styles of dress or slightly embarrassing things just to treat him like a child they could disguise to their liking.

(In the case of Possessive Brozone, in case we manage to isolate him from the others I imagine I would almost turn him into a living doll, just to dress him up and treat him like a baby)

I have a lot more ideas for the troll strings and the world building of this world I just wish more people would ask questions cuz I can't answer those questions if you never ask

When it comes to my trolls hypnosis AU (or mind manipulation whatever you want to call it) I'd love to talk about it some more and while it is been a bit tricky to write my fan think about it cuz you know School I'd love to hear more people ask questions I'm always excited to answer them

Hi, I just wanted to say that ur Hypnosis Au is wicked cool 😎. I've read ur fanfic and I can't wait to read the next chapter 😁

I found it quite interesting when Viva referred brozone as that family. Will it play a significant part in ur au lore? And will branch begin to take notice how the trolls respond or interact with his big brothers?

Or how viva and peppy observe how poppy introduces herself to branch?

Or how branch's brothers actually take notice of how he's is "immune" to their gifts?

Or how exactly does Au Lore truly begin?

I'm so happy I make one chapter just for fun I didn't expect to get a question so I'm so happy you're asking all this and don't worry I ramble too

And let's just say there's always going to be lore hidden somewhere within each of these chapters you just got to find it, some of them will be a bit more lore heavy than others but I will always try my hardest to put small clues into each chapter when it comes to the lore

Anyway here are the answers to some of these questions

When it comes to Viva referring to Branch's family as "that family" that is going to be important because of the dynamic between her and Poppy vs branch and his brothers, (specifically for her Arc) She finds their relationship very sweet because she fails to notice the toxicity of her relationship with Poppy and the relationship between the brozone Bros. (I mean why would she notice it she's friends with Clay after all they have very similar mindsets)

Branch doesn't notice how people react to his brothers just yet because we're still in his childhood phase but he will notice it as he gets older and reminisces about the past

Ask for how trolls interact with the brozone Bros let's just say I have a few fun ideas for how brozone uses their power on the tribe before they leave (cuz currently they're still inside the troll tree)

Viva and Pepe will be there when Poppy finally gets a chance to talk to branch but that doesn't mean that she won't feel uncomfortable with having her family watching them (one cares about Branch, the other one obsessively thinks he's adorable, and Poppy just wants a friend)

As for Branch being immune to viva's power that's actually a point in the story that I want to dive into a little more, because Poppy and Viva have very similar powers however the way that they use them will be different thanks to branches influence. Viva's power is specifically to Make Trolls Happy which can be a good thing but at the same time can be seen as a toxic trait similar to toxic positivity, Poppy's power on the other hand is a bit different but I'm going to keep it a secret for now

At first Brozone genuinely don't even realize when branch is being immune to their powers because their baby brother is so innocent and sweethearted how could they notice, it's only when other trolls Powers don't work on him do they realize something's up (on the other hand, trolls who are better at observing others like their grandma, Poppy, and Creek for example do notice something up with Branch whenever it comes to their powers they just choose not to say anything because it's not hurting anyone, and because of their own personal curiosity)

Here's a little bit of my own info dump

So when brozone does find out about branches little immunity to other powers at first they're shocked and genuinely don't believe Viva when she tells them at first but when it starts to affect their lives that's when they see this as a problem, but rather than blaming Viva for it they actually ask her how in the world did it happen did they trigger this, to figure out how they can work around it not realizing that they can't

Branch being immune to other people's powers isn't a superpower that he has (remember branch is the only one born without powers even those that negate other trolls Powers he doesn't have that), it's just Branch showing his true colors in his own way without even realizing it. I plan on explaining it in a future post and in the story

I plan on explaining viva's power a bit more in the story itself alongside the bro zone Powers and a few other characters who play an important role in Branch's story

Ask for King Pepe well he's not a terrible father I'm just going to make this clear now but he does have his moments of being not the best, for clarification when he tries his hardest to be a good dad he ends up failing one of his kingly duties but when he tries to be a good King he ends up failing as a father and unfortunately he can't seem to find a good work around and it's not exactly his fault I mean anyone would struggle to be a good dad and a good King in his position

(this is my first time doing online drawing rather than doing traditional pen and paper drawing so apologies if it looks really bad the story I'm writing will do a better job at explaining each of these gifts and items he's wearing and how he obtained them apologies again if this looks really bad)

Before Branch ever starts his journey because he's in the troll tree and pop village he wears more clothes that highlight this fact about him for example his skin is still like his brothers it's a more tealish blue than the regular blue he has and his eyes are still up Bright blue

A special birthday crown made by his brother's Grandma and Poppy

The only part of his hair that is in blue is the strand that sticks out

However after he starts his journey he puts all of his special accessories back in his room as he doesn't want to lose them, his skin starts changing depending on the lighting and his emotional state because again he's a very moody troll, and instead they accessories surrounding him on the right are actually special gifts that he takes with him

Fingerless gloves that can turn into normal gloves by pulling the cover on top (was inspired by his brother John Dory to make these gloves)

Special goggles he got for his birthday but he tinkered with him a little bit to make them transition and night vision goggles

A dragonfly hair clip he got from Sky Toronto, (Sky knows about he's close relationship with Keith) so he got them special accessories when the boys were lost in the rain together

A special black leather jacket he made in memory of the two friends he made in Bergen Town Bridget and gristle (I'll talk about their connection in a future chapter)

Wears a special fishnet stocking he made doesn't even realize that Floyd has one that's similar because Floyd's are usually pinkish black instead of just black

Gifts during his personal world tour (specifically the accessory gifts the instrument gives will come later)

Rock troll nose ring

Country troll bandana

Techno troll glow sticks

Funk troll star earring

Classical troll handbag (a special storage kit, it was the classical trolls that taught him about wish stones and how to get one)

Bounty Hunter troll guitar pick (a special one made by the K-pop trolls but with the little bit of the other bounty Hunter magic inside of it)

Branch carries with him a special journal he made for this trip in order to help him remember the music that he's being introduced to, as he loves music so much he wants to bring them all together. He doesn't even realize the impact he has on other trolls because of his warmth, honesty, and kind-hearted nature

And don't even get me started with just how dangerous these gifts are not for branch but for others who try to harm him
