Notes: I know I said in a previous post that I'd clear out my Transformers requests then move on to my newest requests, but this one I felt like I just had to do right away. Also these headcanons are all over the place lol

Okay first thing, and no I will not be taking criticism on this, but Scar adopted Mei

This might also be me projecting, but for some context I grew up with single parents, and my mom was way more protective than my dad, so she'd date a guy for a while before introducing him to us. I only met two guys she's ever dated. It's a trust thing, and my mom had real bad trust issues

So, with that context, Scar would do the same thing with Mei

Yeah he'd talk about little Mei in passing, but you wouldn't meet her unless you've been dating him for a long time

Scar isn't very PDA oriented

He isn't very affectionate overall, really. Unless he's tired or drunk

Scar is a very private man, and he guards his past with a fierce aggression. He doesn't like talking about it

It would be a slow burn romance with him in the first place. He needs to trust you a significant amount before he even thinks about crossing into romantic territory with you

Back to the "not very affectionate" point, Scar would settle for small amounts of affection, but for the most part he wont initiate anything

He'll let you tug on him, kiss him, love him however much you want. But he wont return it in public. Behind closed doors and away from Mei? He'll return it, but casually

Will tease you about how you're shorter than him btw

Will absolutely rest his arm on your head and say "hello, my arm rest"

Scar's very strong, so he'll easily lift you up and place you on his lap or just hold you while walking somewhere

I'm fanning my face just thinking about it, tbh

While Scar isn't affectionate, he is slightly playful

He also likes being close to you

If he's jealous, he'll stand behind you with a glare, making it clear that you're his

If that doesn't work (idk how it wouldn't) he'd verbally say it

"He's mine."

After that, he'd most likely drag you away and do something else

He's gonna be super nervous when he has you meet Mei for the first time

Not because he doesn't trust you - if he didn't you wouldn't be in a relationship, much less meeting Mei

But it's mainly because he wants Mei to approve of you

That's another thing my mom would do - she would ask me and my siblings if we approved of the guy after he left, and told us she'd break up with him if we didn't

I feel like Scar would do that, too. Yeah it'd break his heart, but he has to think of his daughter and make sure she feels safe before himself

Thankfully, Mei and you would get along just fine

Mei wants to spend a bunch of time with you, and loves going to the park

I think it would be a year after you first meet Mei that Scar would ask you to move in

Scar's heart warms up and he gets the softest smile on his face when he sees you and Mei passed out on the couch, My Little Pony blasting on the TV

In the mornings, Scar will make fun of you for your bed head, but will gladly help you comb/brush/style your hair however you want (unless you don't have hair, then pop off, King <3)

Scar will also be more affectionate in the morning, but he's physically affectionate

Holding you from behind while you make breakfast for you, Scar and Mei, kissing your cheek before going to shower, sitting impossibly close together while you eat breakfast, Mei across from you two

When Scar is drunk, like I said earlier, he's a lot more affectionate than usual. He'll make out with you (obviously not in public or around Mei. Don't drink around minors, y'all) and paw at your body, but he wont do anything without your consent

When he's sleepy, he's a lot more calm about it. Instead he'll scoop you up in his arms and hold you. His head is in your neck, innocent kisses being placed there as he holds your body flush to his, tangling your legs with his, etc.

The most he'll do in front of Mei is holding your hand and sitting impossibly close with you. He doesn't feel comfortable kissing in front of his child

Fun fact he was the first anime character I've ever drawn, though I lost that doodle bc it was years ago; I'm trying to draw him more!

Also I focus his design in my style off 03 Scar rather than fmab, in case anyone was curious.

It's 3 AM I've been doodling for 7 hours straight.

I have some characters down of who'd be who in coordination of the au.

No, Roy will not be Yuugo or anyone important until the end (Alex).

SCAR is Yuugo bc that just. Shut up it fits the best. I was arguing with myself for like 3 hours to figure out where to put Scar. He's Yuugo. Shut up. I also wanted to give Scar an important role, bc idk about you all but I love Scar and he's a VERY important character. (Plus they both die, so fitting ig)

Plus this let's me get to be silly with Scar-Al bonding; Bc Al is in the place of Emma. (Ed is Ray, Rosé is Norman, Winry is Anna, uhh, etc etc. No I wont explain in this post.)

The only struggle I'm having is who'd Lucas and the other Glory Bell characters be.

I'm having a similar issue actually with the homunculi! I want them all to be demons, and I'm not revealing which homunculus is correlated with each demon yet, but there's so few of them. I will look over everything I can and then I might add in the fmab homunculi; As there's characters like Lord Bayon and then Lord Bayon the 2nd; Soo. Idk yet. We'll see:)

But it's like, a mix of both worlds in a sense (alchemy real)

I have had thoughts about this au and I want to throttle my brain, this is what I think of instead of working on chimera Ed au fic (I promise ch 5 will be done soon sbsbbs)

I hope you know that when i read that I fucking started stimming so hard I had to take a walk, I'm honored to be called that too?? Holy shit??? (I need to check out more of scarwasright 's content, this reminded me as well! You both can share the title, extra silly.)

And yeah! You got exactly what I was thinking, and I came to the same conclusion by listening to Pale White Horse for an hour straight tbh lol, it's a good song and I'm glad to have shared it!

I listen to a few Lord Huron songs, but I haven't listened to this one tbh. I'm listening to it now.

When the Night is Over reminds me of Scar and Lust too, the tune specifically??

The instruments play in a way that is somber and slow but holds a strong, steady beat throughout it - the (I think it's whistling) also fits it really well; And the music just, idk how to explain it but it makes me think of the more somber aspects of Scar and Lust's dynamic. Despite the tune being steady it can convey a sense of unsure-ness to me, like with the occasional sound of the music adding in instruments and then taking them away again as though deciding "nevermind", only to add it at the more ending part of the song - which FURTHERMORE makes me think of how they both were at the end when it came to their shared paths and how they portrayed it if that makes sense, as after all the instruments are added back in, as it reaches its loudest point in a sense, it then dies down and quiets. It's not abrupt or anything. It's calm, like acceptance to me.

I would be able to truly say this if I listened to it like, over the course of three hours on loop. I'm on listen 6 as we speak, because i keep re-reading this post for anything i should add, so I'm definitely liking this song and I see your vision as well. Very fitting, I love it. I'm gonna obsess over this song for a week now. :) Also I dunno enough about music to say if my words are actually right when it comes to the instruments, this is just the vibes I get from the song on my own.

I'll let you know if I find any other songs, I often am looking for songs to equate to fma 03 characters and whatnot.

I keep listening to Pale White Horse by The Oh Hellos and I keep thinking of Scar and Lust when it comes to the song. If you've listened to the song, do you think similarly?

I Gave "Pile White Horse" a listen, and wow! Yeah, I absolutely see what you're picking up here. These lyrics especially fit Scar and Lust beautifully:

And the final set of lyrics scream "Amestrian genocide of Ishbal" + Scar and Lust being unable to shake the sense of recognition of someone they once knew, their shared past:

The lilting voice of the singer and the deeper thrum of the backing choir lends this track such a tender, sombre presence to the heartbreaking lyrics. Perfect for Scar and Lust!

A song I also feel works for them, imho, is "When the Night is Over" by Lord Huron. Particularly:

Now the trail has gone cold I don't know where else to go And my time, I fear, is nearly over [...] When the night is done, you'll vanish in the sun Will I hold you when the night is over?

And the outro, as the music swells and the vocalist laments:

This song hurts my feelings without fail, every single time.
