seriously not trying to be elitist about fanfiction sites, but can someone who actually uses wattpad please explain why every fic i click on forces me to scroll through fancasts and moodboards and sassy things the characters say and people explaining that inspiration for the fic before i get to the first chapter. i’m guessing the site doesn’t give people a space on their profile to put non-writing stuff. or maybe it’s just the culture there. i don’t mind extras in the A/N’s but the first chapter almost never being the first chapter is just annoying.

i’ve tried to read on that damn site for years but every time i rage quit. and the search functionality is trash tier.

again, not trying to be elitist but it’s very annoying when i just want to read fanfiction and end up being assaulted with pictures. ao3 allows you to put pictures, but people don’t abuse it.

and then, the ui is horrible and seems to force writers into doing tiny chapters because the text box is a third of the screen for absolutely no reason. it also doesn’t put the date the first and last chapters were posted so i can tell if it’s been abandoned, finished, or still updating. infuriating.
