Summary: Eunsoo was just looking for a new job when she meets a man who seems to be more than a pretty face. This man offers her something she hasn’t had in a long time. But can this flighty girl let herself fall for a man who makes no promises to ever let her go.
Minseok doesn’t know what it is about the little goddess that stumbled into his life that drives him insane he just knows he can’t let her little had slip through his fingers. He doesn’t care what he has to do he, he isn’t letting her go anywhere. Lucky for him, he has the means to do that.
I take a breath to stop my hands from trembling, I roll my shoulders a few times to get the nerves out, I can do this. I pull the heavy doors open and peek into the beautiful waiting area of the upscale restaurant. A pretty young woman is standing at a podium staring down at something, too distracted to notice I’m there until I’m standing in front of her.
“Excuse me,” I mumble softly to get her attention.
She jumps, dropping her pen and placing her hand over her racing heart, “Oh my goodness!”
“I’m so sorry!” I quickly apologize.
Her eyes scan me, taking in my tight fit dress pants, matching jacket and white button up, “You must be the girl for the interview.”
I nod, “Yes but how did you know it was me?”
“Our manager said you were a foreigner.”
“Ah, I guess I do stand out a bit,” I chuckle looking down at my tanned skin.
“I’ll go get the manager if you would like to take a seat right here,” She gestures to one of the tall fancy chairs.
I thank her before going to rest in one of the seats. My feet bounce anxiously though I know I’m more than qualified for the position as a bartender there is always the chance they don’t want me here. I let my eyes scan around the room, the high ceilings, crown molding, magnificent chandeliers; the one through the large archway draws my eyes into the dining room. I peek curiously, noting how expensive all the tables, chairs and dining sets look, making a mental note not to spill or trip or drop anything, ever. Someone staring in my direction catches my attention, finding a handsome young face lit up by the candle on the table and the soft light from the chandeliers.
Cat like eyes narrow on me, suddenly we are having a staring contest. Pink lips are pressed into a firm line, his soft jaw line sharpens as he sets his jaw, making him appear more mature than he did a moment before. He rests back in his chair, completely ignoring the woman in front of him, his fingers tap against the wooden table’s edge, far away from where the woman’s hand is obviously reaching for him. In a pinstriped suit he looks like a gangster sitting there, confidence and power pouring out of him. I bite my lip, my eyes run back up his body to find his eyes, noting the small smirk now gracing his handsome face.

“You missed one.”
He had never been told that before. His job came as natural to him as a hobby. He knew the process, follow, asses, and get rid of any evidence or witnesses.
His boss, Choi Minho, who assigned this job called Taehyung back to his office to discuss the job he had done a month or so ago. “This is really unexpected of you Kim. You have the cleanest record in the game. You’ve never slipped up before, yet you forget to dispose of one witness. She is a reporter, this could ruin our client’s career.” His boss sat behind the desk, setting the girls file in front of him. “Your job is on the line, Kim.”
“Yeah.” Taehyung sighed. As always, the clients he worked for were corrupt, in every way imaginable. Taehyung pitied him for that reason. He would do anything to get to the top, murder, theft, lies. Some might say he was one to talk but Taehyung justified his line of work, it was his job and it made him feel alive. His coworkers would joke about him, saying the hands he used to do the job were the dirtiest thing on the face of the planet, they said he was so unsuspecting and devious. He never thought anything of it, he thought, how could my hands be dirty if I use gloves? He had to laugh at his irony. He was going off subject but his thoughts were brought back when he was handed a file. His slender fingers pried open the folder and there was but one paper inside with a name and an occupation. “Is this all?”
“She occasionally writes for the crime column in The Times, all the other information about her is up to you to find out. Get to it.” And so he did.
Little did he know, soon, this very assignment would consume his every thought and drive him to the brinks of insanity.

His eyes slowly fluttered open to the blurry sight of what looked like his apartment, but trashed to the ground. He immediately squeezed them shut again when he felt a sharp pain gushing through the side of his head, his temple pounding with every heartbeat. As he hissed through his teeth, attempting to stabilize the twinge by applying pressure on the painful spot, he noticed he couldn’t move his hands. He kept trying to mobilize them again until he finally realised they were tied together behind his back.
‘What the…Fucking shit!’, he growled, frantically twisting and thrashing in all possible angles, struggling to free himself from the extremely uncomfortable position on his kitchen chair.
‘You finally awake huh? Had a nice beauty sleep pretty boy?’, a mocking voice resonated through the air, making Yoongi snap his head back up to meet the amused eyes of a man leaning against the wall in the door opening.
‘You…’, Yoongi rasped, his voice still wrecked from being unconscious for over an hour, but his eyes burning fiercely.

It was not present anywhere, not amongst the walls on which disorganized graffiti masqueraded all traces of its primordial paint; not in between quivering leaves; nor floating between the lips of enamored strangers. Love was an alien word, an insubstantial conceptualization that beared more resemblance to a joke than the significance it should convey. It had become simply a carapace — a skeleton, perchance — of a term long exterminated by the wickedness that sibilated thought the cimmerian-pigmented asphalt.
Midnight had long passed when the group of five men departed from the alleyway, walking hurriedly into the piceous veils of dusk. If seen, their vanglorious, prideful grins and shirts sprinkled by vermilion would have been an evident forewarning of their malevolent intentions; the laughs of mockery that echoed amongst the absolute quiescence of night causing for them to dwell in a nefarious atmosphere. Their assignment had been fulfilled, and now it was time to celebrate.
Above their heads, sailing away in the obfuscous sea of the twilight sky, the moon hid behind consolidated clouds once more; it, too, turning its symbolic gaze away from the scene that unfolded many meters beneath the vigilant stars. Anemic, its splendiferous glow forever shone on, casting a phantasm-like effulgence over the asleep town; though, it unable win against the neon phosphorescence that took over the shadows of vivacious clubs and bars.
It was near one of those monochromatic constructions that a man fought to keep his grunts of agony trapped in the cage of his clenched jaw. Through his teeth — some which had been incardinated by the blood in his mouth — he cursed his current situation with endless detestation, holding to his own flesh as if it was enough to cease the cascade of sanguine that dripped down his skin. He felt as if his cuts were supposed to be hurting far more than the sensations that cursed his figure, and the odd numbness at some places of his body caused for a dim preoccupation to emerge somewhere amongst the calamity of his thoughts.
Time and time again, he had attempted to get back on his feet, but the vertigo that monopolized his mind did not permit him to do so. Debilitated and fatigued, he could merely lean against the asperous brick wall by his side, feeling the humid surface touching his bruised cheeks as he did so. Never once had he felt so pathetically vulnerable, so humiliated.
Jung Hoseok did not know what hurt the most — the pain of his wounded arm, or his pride.

I've been thinking about this book a lot recently and trying to figure out why I am having to fight myself to write this. First I wanna say that I AM NOT DELETING THIS BOOK, don't panic it's not going anywhere and IS NOT OVER. I've gotten a couple of comments about how I've written this book, specifically about Tae's character and how he's reacted to certain situations, at first I brushed this off and kept going thinking that how I was writing his character was doing this book justice, however, I've realised now that it isn't. I'm feeling a disconnect to this book and especially the characters and it's just getting worse as I keep writing, I've been trying to keep writing new chapters whilst going back and adding detail to my planning at the same time and I'm realising that I can't do this anymore and I'm becoming less and less happy with each chapter I post. So, I am going to go back and edit/rewrite some bits, I'll be adding more depth to characters and their arcs, this means that the order of somethings may change or reactions to certain scenarios will change. I feel like my characters are getting to the end of their arc too quickly and there isn't enough conflict in the story, everything is too easy.
This book will stay up during the editing process but please do go back and reread this story as I edit it so that you don't miss anything. I love you all and thank you all so much for your support with this book and any other's of mine you may have read. All feedback is welcome as long as it is constructive because I'm sure as hell still learning as I go. I'll delete this once I'm happy and have fully edited everything and am ready to go forward until then I hope you enjoy what I go back and add/change, I hope I won't upset anyone but please remember that these will still be the same characters but just with more depth.
