‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾ YOU HAVE RECEIVED A LETTER, LET’S SEE WHAT’S INSIDE! ☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙

salutations: INFERNO (villain!darling in sagau)

content: spoilers of mondstadt - inazuma archon quest, violence, angst/no-comfort, reader is def becoming a villain here, ooc!genshin characters, yandere genshin cult au

note: this is inspired by @nicebonescomrade who is one of my fav genshin writers so far (im obsessed with the disney princess trope with this au) <<3

part one (you’re here!) | part two

how did it end this way?

“how dare you impersonate our divine one!” huffman yelled, pointing his sword at you as you stared at him with a terrified look on your face. throughout the months of playing this game, you couldn’t recall seeing the familiar npc being as angry as he is now.

what did you do?

you look around your surroundings, panicking at the sight of most of the npcs in the city of freedom surrounding you with an intent of something despicable. what did you do to make them, the people who you thought were friendly, look at you as if you’ve done a crime?

“i don’t understand..” you spoke up, slowly backing away as they come closer and closer. “what did i do wrong?”

“don’t you dare act innocent!” donna yelled out. “you are aware of what you have done, you leech! what were you thinking when you decided to step foot here and act as if you’re our creator?!”

you continued to look around again, hoping to see a familiar face that isn’t among the hateful crowd.

your eyes then lands on venti.

oh thank the heavens.

without another thought, you immediately tried to run pass the crowd, surprising everyone in the process as your hand reaches out towards the bard, who seems to start noticing your figure running towards him with an angry mob behind you.

“venti!” you cried out, hiding yourself behind him (despite his small stature). “please help me, i don’t know why they’re after me, i didn’t do an—”

“get your filthy hands off me!”

you let out a surprised gasp when venti pushes you off, causing you to stumble backwards and fall on the floor.

he glares down at you as everyone else makes fun at your pathetic state. “you dare think i’d fall for your tricks?” what tricks? what is he talking about?

“please.. i didn’t do.. i didn’t do anything wrong.” you said, trying to stand up from the cold ground — only for venti to push you down again.

“who knew there would be a person who has the audacity to come here and mock our creator, pretending they’ve done nothing wrong with their life.” he said with a venomous tone, paying no mind to how you shivered from the sudden harsh winds.

“leave us alone before i give in to temptation and give you something worse than death.”

just what creator are they talking about? are they talking about celestia?

tears started forming in your eyes as people started throwing things at you — both big and small, trying to mute out those who have been saying foul words towards you.

of course liyue wouldn’t be different. what were you thinking?

you whimpered in pain when you felt what seemed to be a hot bowl of soup on the left side of your body, it will surely leave a couple of burns on your skin underneath.

“get out of here, you disrespectful idiot!” chef mao, the person who threw the bowl of soup, yelled out.

you just want to end this pain.

as you head towards the pathway of feiyun slope where the other exit of the harbor is, your eyes wanders around the area until you spotted another familiar face.

“zh-zhongli?” you called out softly with your eyes brightened, feeling your shoulders beginning to relax from the sight of the consultant that you grew to love back in your world — who turns around to see you.

perhaps… perhaps he could hel—

your breath hitched when he summons his polearm.

“you wench,” he spat out, causing your eyes to widen from his foul language. “you dare to try and fool us with your insolent disguise as our creator?”

“i-i didn’t do anything, i swear!” you cried out, alarmed from people suddenly coming out to the streets to see the commotion. “i don’t know who you’re talking about, i-i’m just a normal—”

you yelped when someone pushed you to the ground, causing your heart to beat faster in fear. what have you done to deserve this? when will you wake up from a seemingly ever-lasting nightmare?!

“pick an archon and start praying,” zhongli says, pointing the tip of his polearm at your neck as you cried.

“because what i’m going to do next will surely make you regret disrespecting our divine creator like this.”

who knew this world could be so cruel than your real one?

“you…” you shakily stood still as the raiden shogun slowly walk towards you with her blade in hand, you wanted nothing more than to put up your hood again and hide your face from the world, the cruel and cold world.

after getting a harsh beating from everyone in liyue, you managed to get a trip to inazuma, who started opening its doors with welcoming arms after the infamous traveler (who you still have not encountered for reasons unknown) helped their electro archon.

unlike your visits to mondstadt and liyue, you then decided to hide your face with a hoodie that you manage to steal from the boat you were riding in, hoping that you won’t have to go through the same thing as you did with the first nations.

much to your relief, no one seemed to notice your face, giving you another hope that maybe.. this was the right place for you to stay until you wake up from this dream.

you even made friends with the characters, who seemed to like you so well and never questioned the fact that you’re covering your face.

things were going well with your life in inazuma.. so how did they find out?

“you are a disgrace to teyvat for impersonating our divine creator,” she explains, not failing to notice the sight of your quivering form on the floor. “i’ll make sure this won’t slide easily.”

you look amongst the audience nearby to find who you thought were your dear friends watching you. surely they’d save you from the raiden shogun’s wrath right? didn’t they say they’re willing to help you?

when you finally spotted thoma, ayaka, yoimiya, and other people that you got along with, your heart drops at the sight of them looking away from your hopeful gaze.

they’re just like everyone else.

you felt yourself slumped, staring down at the cold ground as every hope within your eyes vanishes slowly, paying no mind to the electro archon coming closer and closer to where you are.

what is the point of living, if you have no chance to live peacefully here at all?

you thought this was a chance for you to start anew and tried things you had never experienced in your real world, only to find out in a hardest way possible that there’s no hope for you here, whereas everyone considers you as an enemy to them for simply looking like their so-called creator.

“any last words?” the archon asks, slowly raising her sword as you close your eyes in relief.

if this is the way to come back to your real home, then perhaps death isn’t too bad.

suddenly though, a lightning suddenly blasted between you and raiden — who immediately backs away in surprise.

you opened your eyes as people started screaming, confused as to what’s happening.

you then realized a large shadow looming over you and the electro archon, who seems to be distracted from the culprit who interrupted your supposedly execution ceremony.

you slowly look up and saw the familiar form of a thunder manifestation.

“your grace!”

after being saved by the infamous thunderbird of inazuma, you had officially decided that enough is enough.

you were beyond outrageous for the things everyone has done to you. you simply snapped the moment your so-called inazuma friends turned their backs on you when you needed them the most.

you wish to see the very thing you created burn.

even though your life has been given another chance to live, your hope has been long gone. what’s the point of hoping when you’ll end up being trampled on by people who thought they knew their creator so well?

you could never forget the disgusted looks on the archons faces as you cried and begged for their help from those who had hurt you in worst ways imaginable, only for them to join in and make you feel nothing more but pain and suffering.

there’s nothing more you desire than to see everyone regret their actions.

“your grace,” you turn around to see one of your precious thunder manifestations, the one who had saved you from the wrath of the raiden shogun. “the abyss has completed the sigils needed for the overlord of the vortex, we’re all waiting for your permission to use them.”

you smile sinisterly, feeling sadistic for being excited of what’s about to happen to the precious city of contracts. once liyue harbor has been flooded to cease it’s existence, you can move on to the next two nations that brought you hell and give them the punishment they deserved.

“release osial.”

part one | part two (here!)

there had been reports from adventurers claiming that there were no signs of hilichurls and abyss for weeks now.

the imposter had been long gone for what felt like months. everyone was more than happy that they had successfully defended their divine god’s identity with all their might and served justice to the sinner, who’s probably dead by now.

everyone concluded that the abyss disappearing was a good thing for the city - especially for the acting grandmaster jean, who was more than happy that she has less things to worry about now.

people started roaming around the nation of freedom without any worries besides wild creatures like wolves. hunters can easily hunt for boars without facing a hilichurl or abyss mages, adventurers can no longer worry about encountering those ruin guards and hunters in destroyed ruins, and dragonspine felt a little more safe now that there were no more frostarm lawachurls.

it felt like this was a gift from their grace that they oh-so worshipped to.

venti had also thought that this was a reward from the divine creator themselves for banishing the fiend imposter that dared to commit such blasphemy, only to think otherwise when the winds stopped talking to him.

everywhere venti goes, he could no longer feel the winds unlike before. although it was still there, it felt as though it had been ignoring venti for something.

he didn’t fail to notice the fact that dvalin and andrius have also disappeared, leaving the worried bard alone with mondstadt’s obliviousness to the situation.

just what is the cause behind all of this?

without any wind to talk to, venti could no longer keep on track on his long old friend who took care of the imposter and banned them from liyue as well.

not to mention the fact that there are three cases of people disappearing that caused the knights of favonius to panic.

venti was surprised to hear that kaeya, albedo, and klee have all disappeared. no one didn’t even see or recall anything regarding the three - especially from rosaria, sucrose, and timaeus, who were the closest to the two men who have disappeared.

although this case is most likely not involved, the bard couldn’t help but think that this must have something to do with the imposter.

so, venti decided to set out on a journey to visit liyue and check up on the retired geo archon, wanting to know if he too had faced such cases in his nation.

before he could step out of his beloved city, the winds suddenly grew stronger and harsh, causing everyone outside to stop what they were doing and process what’s happening.

it didn’t take long before venti heard the familiar sounds of dvalin’s roar.

“BARBATOS!” the bard felt his heart dropped from the voice of andrius, looking around the city in confusion. what is andrius doing here?

he then started to notice one of the men that mondstadt has been looking for, his eyes widens when he spots kaeya’s other eye that’s now exposed.

a shadow suddenly looms over venti, causing him to look up and see the spirit of andrius staring back at him with anger and hatred.

“you shall pay for the sins you’ve committed against our divine god.”

there had been reports from liyuean citizens that dogs have suddenly disappeared.

it was a strange occurrence indeed, but it wasn’t enough for zhongli to worry about. he thought that there was no need to intervene in such an incident that doesn’t endanger his city, thinking that the qixing and millelith can handle it on their own.

or so he thought.

not long after, there had also been reports from adventurers who claimed that there are no longer hilichurls or other monsters in sight – especially the infamous pyro regisvine and the primogeovishap themselves.

liyue was confused, surprised even. what is the cause of what one would consider..

a miracle?

the qixing then concluded that perhaps this was a sign from the divine creator themself as gratitude for defending their identity, causing everyone to cheer and consider this as a celebration.

as much as zhongli desires to send his prayers to his god as thanks for the kind gesture, he decided to check up on... a certain creature that he once considered as a friend.

when he visited the familiar cave that he and the traveler encountered, there were no signs of azhdaha around the place, much to his shock.

is this truly a blessing?

the retired archon could only think about how his divine creator must’ve been proud of his people and him for dealing with the sinner swiftly. just thinking about the praises he’d received from his creator makes his heart skip a beat.

“i wonder what happened that made you so happy, mr. zhongli.” childe spoke up with a smile as the two of them continued to dine in on wanmin restaurant’s finest dishes. “did you manage to win a lottery or something?”

despite what happened back then after faking his death, childe continued to hang out with zhongli much to his surprise (despite the huge tension around them).

though, he has to admit, the tension between him and the harbinger has grown.. stronger.

the consultant lets out a chuckle. “it is much better than winning a lottery, childe.” he replies, taking a sip of his tea before he continues, “have you heard of an imposter visiting liyue with the face of our divine creator?”

childe laughs. “oh i see now. you must’ve been proud of your people when they pushed the imposter to the sea.”

zhongli couldn’t help but shift a bit in his seat, feeling suspicious with the tensed atmosphere.

“i must say, i feel a bit jealous that the creator became generous with your nation. snezhnaya on the other hand became colder than ever.” childe commented, paying no mind to the consultant’s gestures.

it took a few moments of silence before zhongli spoke up again.

“...what is your reason for coming back here, childe?”

the harbinger continues to smile. “what do you mean? i just came here to see if the rumors are true, of course!”

“surely the tsaritsa would’ve given you another task to do, aren’t i right?” zhongli retorts, copying childe’s expression. “you would’ve come back to your home right now since the celebration has come to an end.”

“oh, but i’m not here just for your celebration!” childe exclaims, letting out an amused laugh.

the consultant furrowed his eyebrows. “what do you mean?”

“i’m talking about our god’s celebration, of course!”

as soon as those words slipped from the harbinger’s mouth, zhongli suddenly felt the ground shaking, now noticing how the sky has grown dark along with how the waves of the sea have grown stronger than ever.

it can’t be.

as everyone started panicking in realization that the harbor is in danger, childe could only laugh manically.

“you got me, mister zhongli,” he spoke up, standing up from his seat as everyone starts to evacuate.

“just so you know, i actually only came here to see the look on your face when you realized that you are no longer wanted by our divine creator.” he explains, watching as zhongli’s eyes widens in horror at the sight of osial rising once more.

“after all, it’s what you deserve for harming our grace.”

---

ei could only frown from the memory of the thunder manifestation saving the imposter from her wrath.

has the manifestation been fooled by the imposter and think that they’re their beloved creator? she wondered to herself, pacing back and forth in her plane of euthymia as her prototype-self deals with the aftermath of the failed attempt of the imposter’s execution.

not to mention the fact that yae miko had recently come up to the archon regarding a concerning amount of reports related to inazuma’s... change of state.

it confused ei that yae would come up to her just to bring up something the tenryou commission can handle on their own, only to think otherwise when she first read the documents.

some had reported about how the rain in yashiori island has returned once more, only this time it had begun to grow stronger and unstoppable. some had reported about how tsurumi island’s fog had returned as well and became bigger to the point where it had almost reached the rest of the islands. one had also mentioned about how the legendary maguu kenki has started to move away from his arena, killing anyone that comes out of its way to an unknown destination.

what made ei decide to come out was a certain document that mentioned both mondstadt and liyue’s troubles, all going through similar things as inazuma.

the thought that maybe, just maybe that the imposter that she had almost killed with her own hands was the very being that made her pursue eternity almost brought ei down on her knees in regret.

it can’t be them. she thought, her heart beating rapidly as she heads to the road that will take her to ritou and visit liyue —

she stops her tracks when a sudden explosion appears by the entrance of inazuma city.

“guards, head towards the commotion now!” she yelled and continued running once more, hoping that it was just an accidental experiment from yoimiya and nothing super serious as the guards followed her.

by the time she arrived, her eyes landed on yours.

there you were, standing in front of the huge smoke with a dull look on your face. no longer was the imposter disguised as someone else with the help of a cloak,

now stood the divine creator themself amidst the chaos around them and ei, whose breath hitches in realization and regret.

“you..” you spoke up, your voice now confident and vengeful instead of frightened and weak as you walked towards the archon. “you are a disgrace to teyvat for performing an execution against your god.”

ei’s heart tightens from the words you said that once slipped from her lips during your execution, now knowing that she had indeed messed up badly.

“do you remember me, ei?” you ask, walking towards the woman as the golden wolflord comes out from the smoke with rifthounds following, causing everyone to panic from the sight of the beasts that belong to the tsurumi island.

ei stood still, her hands shaking. of course she remembers you.

“tell me, did you remember when the kamisato clan offered me to you as i beg for your mercy?” you ask again, bringing out a sword that she used to try and execute you.

ei didn’t bother asking where you had gotten that sword.

“i… i didn’t know any better.” ei spoke up, slowly walking backwards as you come closer and closer. “i didn’t know it was really yo—”

“no one did!” you yelled, ignoring the lightning that suddenly struck down the city from your outburst. “no one bothered to think that i wasn’t an imposter - you didn’t even let me explain myself!”

the woman felt her posture falter, her heart couldn’t handle the fact that she had disappointed you, the very being that gave her a reason to not give up.

“forgive me.. forgive me your grace—”

“you have no right to call me that anymore, you’ve lost your right as an acolyte.”

her lips quivered, her weapon dropped to the ground. “please, give me another chance, your grace! i regret my foolish decision in mistaking you as an impo—”

you let out a loud laugh. “and why should i give you a chance when you haven’t given me one before? you and the rest of the archons are indeed fools!”

ei’s shoulders began to tense from the sounds of her people screaming and crying out for help as rifthounds attacked them. she should’ve known better- she shouldn't have believed those fools from the kamisato clan—!

she held her breath when you suddenly placed your finger under her chin, making her realize that you’re now in front of her.

you then made her look up to your eyes, the eyes that are now glowing gold instead of the original color of your orbs.

you grinned. “maybe I can forgive you and your pathetic city... when you’re on your knees and beg like the filthy dog you are~”

part one | part two | beloved creator masterlist ! | teyvat’s penpal service !

before the news of an imposter has been spread across the continent, everyone in teyvat was celebrating the arrival of the divine creator.

as the most devoted acolyte, zhongli had to see for himself if the news was true — so when he finds out that the divinity decided to visit the city of prosperity, he had to make sure to be the first person to welcome the creator.

so why does he feel… hesitant?

“...zhongli, is that you?” the divine creator asks with a sweet smile, eyes brightening at the sight of the consultant. “my, my, you’ve grown so well!” they exclaimed, cupping his cheek with their hand, paying no mind to the way he stares at the assumed “creator” in confusion.

“..your grace?” he calls out.

they giggled. “of course it’s me! you know me don’t you, my sweet rex lapis?”

he noticed how so many people were watching them, whispering words of devotion and gratitude that their grace had finally decided to appear in teyvat once more – and that the consultant of the wangsheng funeral turned out to be their supposedly dead archon as well.

with how.. familiar the creator is, how could he not believe that this isn’t his divine creator?

despite doubts still sprouting in his stomach, the retired archon slowly puts one knee on the ground, bowing down to the creator, who smiles menacingly kindly.

“your grace, i welcome you to liyue harbor.”

with how… considerate the creator is, how could he not believe that his grace is afraid of their own creations?

despite doubts still residing in his stomach, the retired archon slowly brings out his polearm, shoulders tensed from the sudden command of his creator, who's barking orders about getting rid of those disgusting hilichurls as they hid themselves behind his back.

“your grace, i’ll make sure they will be dealt with swiftly.”

with how… perfect the creator is, how could he not believe that his beloved divinity doesn’t want imperfections?

despite doubts growing stronger than ever, the retired archon summons his adepti in the raiden shogun’s residence as servants try to fulfill every single order from the now angered creator.

“your… grace, i’ll do my best to kill the imposter for you.”

now, zhongli could only watch as his city crumbled from his yet another mistake.

“it’s such a shame that you’re no longer considered as one of their acolytes now,” childe says with a fake sigh, hiding his grin at the sight of the retired archon’s terrified look on his face. “but i suppose that’s what you get for letting our divine creator suffer from your people and believe that ridiculous imposter that fooled you all. who knew the so-called most devoted acolyte would dare to try and kill the creator with his own hands?”

zhongli quickly looks at childe, eyebrows furrowed. “you’re a foolish man for believing an imposter like them, would you like me to remind you that the real creator is here?”

the harbinger looked unphased, his lips twitching upward. “the real creator? you mean the same creator who doesn’t do anything at all but lay down on the most comfortable sheets inazuma has to offer? the same creator who abuses servants and doesn’t bat an eye on those who beg for blessings? i’m done pretending that there’s nothing wrong with them–”

“the creator has their reasons–”

“despite seeing so many signs, you still refuse to believe that you’ve been fooled.” childe snarls. “and here i thought you’d know better.”

childe then glances at where osial is, chuckling to himself at the sight of ningguang and the qixing trying everything they can to take down osial once more. if only they knew that the overlord of the vortex’s wife is currently on her way too..

“tell me, morax. have you seen your so-called creator bleed?”

: *:* YOU HAVE RECEIVED A LETTER, LETS SEE WHATS INSIDE! *:*:

“maybe i can forgive you and your pathetic city… when you’re on your knees and beg like the filthy dog you are.” you said with a grin.

ei trembles, slowly going down on her knees and lays her head down on the cold ground.

“forgive me, your grace, for i have sinned.” she whispers, closing her eyes in dread. “i was blinded in fury for not seeing you as who you are, i was foolish for believing in an imposter who claims to be the creator, and i was cruel for trying to execute you in front of my people’s eyes.”

you stared down at the trembling archon with narrowed eyes.

“how pathetic,” you spat out. “how pathetic of you to assume that i’d forgive you so easily after your worthless begging.”

ei lets out a shaky breath, her head still lowered to the cement floor. she doesn’t care about the fact that some of her people are watching, all she cares about is you accepting her even if forgiveness is out of her reach.

“show me where that imposter resides.” you demanded.

you didn’t have to ask twice.

the woman looks up, pointing at her residence without maintaining eye contact with you. “they’re in my palace. they’re unaware of your arrival, your gra–”

without letting the archon finish, you started walking towards the tenshukaku with the golden wolflord following behind, summoning more rifthound skulls to ambush more of inazuma city’s citizens along its way.

every step you take brought more memories of what you did in the electro nation. memories of you helping out yoimiya bringing fireworks as you try to keep your hood up, memories of you chasing after thoma after he declares that whoever’s the last one will pay next dinner, memories of you being found out after a shogunate removes your hoodie, and memories of the raiden shogun ready to execute you with everyone watching in glee.

you did not forget the memory of spotting a person watching by the entrance of the tenshukaku, grinning as they wear your face.

as soon as you found yourself standing in front of the palace, you gripped your sword tighter.

“leave me be,” you said to the golden wolflord. “you may continue helping your rifthounds, but refrain from killing anyone. i prefer to handle the imposter myself.”

the nameless king bows for a moment before taking his leave, ready to cause more destruction to the people of inazuma city alongside its archon.

you slowly touched the doors of the palace, taking a deep breath. this is it, this is your chance to finally bring justice and ki—

“hm, i’m impressed that you’ve made it this far.”

without hesitation, you immediately turned around and pointed your sword at the person talking behind you, eyebrows now furrowed at the sight of a copy version of you grinning menacingly.

“it really was interesting to see those archons being so… desperate for their creator’s attention to the point where they’re all willing to kill someone. you should use that as your potential – if you can kill me, that is.” they said with a hum, unphased by the fact that your sword is close to their neck.

“you really are underestimating me.” you retorted, your other hand that wasn’t holding your sword clenches into a fist. “all the more reasons to kill you, i suppose.”

the imposter continues to grin, summoning their own sword as well before pointing it at your neck. “i’m sure celestia would love to see you once i’m done with you, your grace.”

you copied their expression, eyes glowing more golden than before.

“if i were you, i’d pick an archon and start praying, sweet copycat.”

: *:* YOU HAVE RECEIVED A LETTER, LETS SEE WHATS INSIDE! *:*:

it only took an hour before the destruction finally stopped.

it only took one single sound before every single creature stopped ambushing the cities of their land, slowly returning to their abodes and areas alike as the citizens watched in confusion and relief.

it only took one strong strike until the battle between creators had ended.

much to your surprise, the imposter wasn’t harder to fight than you expected. although there was a lot of damage taken in the tenshukaku, it ended where you hoped it would be; with the imposter beneath you scared and helpless.

“impossible,” they murmured, dropping their ruined sword in defeat. “how? celestia said i’ll be able to live! they said i will be able to rule the world! THEY SAID I’LL BE JUST AS STRONG AS YOU AND—!”

“how pitiful,” you commented, copying their grin that was once held before the intense fight. “it’s a shame that you oh-so desperately accepted such a false offer. do you even remember what you look like before, copycat?”

the imposter didn’t respond, looking around the place in panic as they mumbled out hushed whispers of repeated words.

you then gripped their face, causing them to yelp in pain. “now that you’re done playing as me, what should your punishment be?” you ask, raising your sword as they cry.

“should i just feed you to the golden wolflord? cut your head off and show it to inazuma that you don’t bleed gold? or perhaps go for a more violent method and make sure death goes slowly for you?” the imposter shudders in response, still unable to respond.

you rolled your eyes. they were so confident that you wouldn’t be able to kill them off, yet here they are.

“very well then,” you then let go of their face, fixing your grip on your sword. “i’ll just stab you to death instead.”

without letting the imposter try and protest, you instantly stabbed them straight in their heart, causing them to gasp out and held onto your sword in hopes of removing it.

“this is what you get for pretending to be me.” you said, pulling your sword away from the imposter’s body.

just when they thought it’s over, you proceeded to stab them at the same spot again. “this is what you get for ordering everyone to chase after me - even when i didn’t do anything wrong.”

another stab. “this is what you get for taunting me and watch me almost get killed.” another stab. “this is what you get for thinking that you won’t face the consequences.” another stab.

you continued to tell everything the imposter did as you stab them again and again, ignoring the way their blood splatters your armor and the way they try to stop you from your endless stabbing.

it ended a few moments later as they slowly fall limp, causing you to stop yourself from stabbing them once more as you watch them pass away.

finally.

finally you’re free.

you slowly stood up from the ground, ripping your sword off from the imposter’s corpse as you look at the destruction you’ve caused.

you can only hope that the creatures you’ve grown to care for aren’t doing too much destruction on the cities.

you then noticed the electro archon standing nearby, still refusing to maintain eye contact with you. “… your grace, i’ll make sure your room is—”

“i have no reason to live with people who have done nothing but try to kill me as if i’ve done something wrong.” you interrupted in a monotone voice, ignoring the way the woman looks heartbroken from your response. “i’m sure you and others can understand.”

the woman tries to come up towards you and protest, only to stop when you backed away.

“please let me go.” you took a deep breath, now realizing the injuries that the imposter slashed on you. “i just want to go back to my home..”

ei quickly noticed your now weakened state, causing her to now look at you with worry and panic. “your grace, i need to take you to the healers—!”

“don’t try to touch me.” you strictly said, focusing on your breathing. “i’m… i don’t need your help.”

the archon felt helpless, watching as you call out the golden wolflord, causing a brown portal to appear, followed by the giant wolf coming out from it to retrieve you.

“your grace, please…” ei begs. “stay with us - let us make up for everything. we were all fooled by the imposter—”

“what’s there to make up for?” you ask, keeping your sword away. “how could i forgive you after everything that happened? how could i forgive you after everything you and your people did to me? i didn’t even do anything wrong, i just wanted to—”

suddenly, you started coughing out golden blood, causing the archon to immediately come up to you alongside the nameless king - who snarls at the woman coming towards you.

you stopped her from coming towards you, shooting her a glare.

“send the other archons my warning. if they ever - or if anyone tries to find my location, i’ll make sure they’ll be punished and will send every single monsters to them.”

you then hold onto the wolf. “consider this as a goodbye, raiden shogun.”

Blind Faith (4)

Prev || Next

There was almost always someone with you now, aside from your ruin guard friend.

If it wasn't Albedo who answered your questions and told you about his experiments and theories, it was Kaeya who you fell into friendly banter with, his teasing remarks easy to turn against him and make him falter once you got the hang of it. If not Kaeya, then Dainsleif accompanied you as your shadow, silent and solemn until you managed to crack past his stoic disposition and got him to speak more than just your supposed title.

If Dainsleif, too, happened to be unavailable then it was either one or both of the Traveller siblings, both happy to simply let you be the one to fill the silence, listening with rapt attention to your stories and tales of Earth. While Lumine was the more intense of the two and Aether more expressive, they both still got the same smile when you called their names.

Your ruin guard buddy, Jingyi, was just happy to be included. He often sat you on his hand or shoulders, surprsingly chatty by his beeps as the two of you went around Khaenri'ahs ruins long after your bruises and aches were healed.

You should be happy; you had a warm room now, a shelter over your head and they gave you delicious food every day, keeping you company as well as giving you safety.

And yet. . .

You felt stifled, bored out of your mind by seeing the same scenerey evey day. When you had woken up and realized you were in Teyvat, you had been excited to explore, see the nations that looked so breathtaking even from your device's screen. You knew of course why they didn't want you to leave; there was still a manhunt out for your blood, unwilling to listen and believe you when you say that you truly aren't trying to impersonate anyone.

You didn't day anything though; you aren't ungrateful, especially not when they're keeping you safe.

What you hadn't counted on was that they knew.

"It's expected of someone like them to hate being confined," Albedo said, not taking his eyes off you. You were on Jingyi's hand, chatting with a pyro lector. He wondered if you knew that the electro lector and hydro herald were planning to also pull you into coversations with them, like a bunch of jealous children and not the feared monsters they were supposed to be. "It's a wonder they have not yet complained, if I'm being honest."

"They shouldn't have had to hide in the first place," Aether frowned, anger clear in the way he furrowed his brows. It was mirrored in the way Lumine clenched her fists.

"Teyvat was created by them, it is for them. They should be the last ones that have to hide and not walk freely as they please."

Dainsleif was to speak next, arms crossed. "And what do you suppose we should do? Those fools have yet to see their sin, their mistake. They are still advocating for the Creator's death, even if they refuse to see the truth."

"Surely we can take them somehwere with no other people around," Kaeya hummed, a hand on his chin. "The nations are many and wide, a change of scenery should make them happier. The ruin guard, one of us, and perhaps one of the lectors or heralds can go with them for protection."

Albedo was still hesitant; he still remebered the shock and horror he'd felt when Jingyi had brought you to them, bleeding and barely alive, a malnourished body in need of immediate help. And it was all because those arrogant, prideful Archons failed to recognize you.

But, he thought as he looked over to you again, laughing along to whatever the lector was saying. It would more of a crime to keep you confined and restricted.

Should anything happen, then you at least will not be alone this time.

            ──・──・・ ♡ ・・──・──

Somewhere between the Dunyu Ruins and Tianqiu Valley was chosen, with Abyss mages keeping guard around the area to inform them early if anybody was getting close. Dainsleif was the one to accompany you and Jingyi, whose name you decided after the group got you a book of Liyuen names when you asked.

Dainsleif still had preservations, worries ringing in the back of his mind but you looked so happy, so excited as you moved between the shrubs and the grass and held the chirping squirrels in your hands.

Dainsleif was so enamoured by the sight of his Creator practically shining in happiness that he would have missed the hydro-infused arrow shooting straight at you had it not been for Jignyi taking the shot instead, its eye burning red as it stood ready to protect you.

"It appears you're not quite as dead as we thought, comrade!" A shock of ginger hair, dead blue eyes and the Fatui insignia.

Tartaglia.

You sighed, still looking at the game-like system infront of you.

“10 status points for surviving them? This is crazy! My life is on the line!” You screamed at it, but that didn't do anything. It just disappeared and started the timer.

You tsked, forcing yourself to stand up but still being careful, not wanting to open up any fresh wounds.

‘The secret skill better be useful.’

“I SEE THE IMPOSTOR!" you heard someone shout, making you recklessly stand up and run.

You can feel your wounds open up, but that didn't matter anymore as you only have one goal in mind.

‘survive.’

You ran, activating your agility and speed skill. ‘I can't die here!’

As the time passed, your fatigue keeps increasing—slowly making your activated skill disappear.

‘Fucking useless. should've leveled up my durability.’

[ 10x Status points obtained! ]

‘Wha- It's done?’ You asked yourself as you looked at the timer.

‘It's pretty useful. Is the system siding with me right now? Heh- pathetic.’

You smirked as you saw green flashes in your body. As you were healing, you threw the apple you ate and examined your wounds. It still hurts but you can now move more faster.

Your Very Own Villain Arc

Oh, how you'd always wanted to do something like this.

Perhaps gaining this opportunity was the one silver lining of your endless suffering. Though you wouldn't quite call it worth it, you'd take what you could get at this point.

Before you, crowds screamed and cried, some running, others begging, the rest torn between the two. Bloodied stones laid scattered across the crimson soaked cobblestone, rivlets of gold beginning to break through the monochromatic puddle, and you laid at the center, the endless fountain of pain.

People are speaking. You can't hear them.

"They say there are five stages of grief..."

You'd not believed it at first, you hadn't understood the situation you were in and you foolishly followed the Knights when you'd been accosted; surely, you'd thought, surely they'll listen. The Knights of Favonius were kind and understanding, they'd always been that way in the game.

You forgot weren't behind the screen anymore.

"Denial."

When they'd thrown you to a cell and responded to your confusion with violence, you'd been indignant. You tried to dig your heels in, stand up for yourself like you were always told one should, and yelled back when the frustration grew too much.

You quickly learned to stay quiet.

"Anger."

When the Liyue Qixing themselves showed up, you'd had a glimmer of hope. They were the heads of the Nation of Contracts, they were level-headed and always thought things through, always looked at the facts and the facts alone.

You desperately called out to them.

"Bargaining."

When the leaders of the Tri-Commission and the Shogun herself arrived, you didn't speak. The most open-minded and fact-oriented people within Teyvat had thrown all of their ideals to the wayside, you knew well enough not to test the most stubborn of the lot.

You cried yourself to sleep that night.

"Depression."

They'd strung you up for the world to see, rising you to the heavens before they stoned you down to hell. You could hear the jeering, the cheering, the calls for your death; ghost-like whispers in night wind as the cold sun beat down on you. Everything had long since grown numb.

As the first rock hit, you hoped it would stay that way.

"Acceptance."

Painpainpain bled through your every vein, life bled from your body in rivers and waterfalls, white-hot agony stained your vision. It hurt, it hurt.

The sun reached high noon, the bells tolled for your end. Death turned its cold claws toward you...

And shoved you away.

In an instance you jolted back to your body; nerves electric hot, newborn instinct clawing for release.

"But I'd like to add one more..."

Your body felt like the air that swirled around the city, pushing and pulling and keeping your prey where you wanted it.

Newfound power surged through your veins, replacement blood that called and screamed and demanded to be released. You found that you had no reservations in letting it run wild.

People were talking. You couldn't hear them over the power that rushed past your ears.

"Revenge."

 PINK. PINK. PINK.
 PINK. PINK. PINK.
 PINK. PINK. PINK.

❝ PINK. PINK. PINK. ❞

⌗ Hate is a powerful emotion. But not by itself.

 PINK. PINK. PINK.

ㅤYou don’t remember anything. Nothing except you were fighting against them. But ... What happened next?

ㅤYou don’t know. All you remember is white filled your vision and then everything went black. And then ... You woke up in another world with Akumu.

ㅤA new world to destroy.

ㅤYou were ecstatic at the thought of stealing even more souls in this new dimension. So much so – that you completely forgot about the battle with the skeletons.

ㅤThough it took you a few minutes to render what was going on and getting used to being in this world, you were still as excited as ever – a beaming smile plastered on your face as if you did nothing wrong.

ㅤAkumu seemed to react alongside you, bouncing around with a grin. You two were quite literally jumping around at the thought of stealing even more souls!

ㅤAfter all, this is a new world, right? Then that means that there’s so much more monsters and humans here! Your eyes sparkled in pure ecstasy at the grassy landscape before you.

ㅤOh how you can’t wait to destroy everything!

ㅤThe pink gradient in your hair glowed and the statues of you lit up as a sign of your happiness, but neither you or Akumu notice because of joy.

ㅤAs you calm down and think about what you’re about to do, you look around your surroundings and skip towards some sort of nation built with stone walls around.

ㅤAs you arrive, your eyes glitter when you see so many people. ‘This is going to be so fun!’ you though to yourself before you get interrupted by a shout. A shout directed at you.

ㅤYour eyes widen when you hear the people scream profanities at you, rotten fruits being thrown in your direction. You don’t get it, isn’t this a new world? They shouldn’t know you or your past crimes, so why are they insulting you?

ㅤYour hate grows stronger. ‘They all deserve what they’re about to get anyway.’ you growled under your breath, Akumu seeming to be reacting with you as it dodges the moldy apples.

ㅤYou, once again, get interrupted by multiple people – in knight armor – running towards you. Your eyes widen in shock, but Akumu summons a shield for you to protect yourself from their blows just in time.

ㅤThe citizens step back in surprise, how did you do that? That’s not possible! You’re an impostor, you should have no such power!

ㅤBut that doesn’t give them the assumption that you are the Creator. Why? Because the ancient scrolls never mentioned anything about your power or how it works. Nobody has ever seen it.

ㅤAfter all, they were already blinded by their devotion to not recognize you as their one and only Creator, let alone notice that your abilities are far too powerful to be an impostor’s doing.

ㅤYou dodge their weak attacks before they use their vision. ‘What the?! They’re humans, how is that even possible-?!’ you think to yourself as you attack back.

ㅤYou don’t think anymore as you use Akumu as a weapon, your signature scythe. You land a hit on most of them as Jean tries to come up from behind before you knock her back, hitting against a hard wall with a fatal injury on her stomach.

ㅤThey only try harder, you almost killing them with a life threatening injury if they don’t get treated right away. Speaking of, healers surround the injured and unconscious people while you fight those who are still battling.

ㅤ‘This is tedious.’ you thought as you slash the rest of the knights in various areas. Stomach, arm, face, you name it.

ㅤAs you glare at them, they are left terrified and confused when you leave Mondstadt’s gates to head to another nation to give them your best impression of your abilities.

ㅤAfter all, you didn’t want to just steal their souls now. Not yet, as it is too early. Sure, you may or may not have given them hallucinations (that you control), but they should be grateful they even have a soul for now.

ㅤPerhaps another time.

━━  ⌗ NOTES ⵓ @byulla-ponk, @gunterdon, I did it ... Betty! Reader is here now and I feel like I’ll make more parts of this in each nation and maybe more stuff.

“We should look for a place to take shelter. I’ll be fine, but we don’t want you catching a cold.”

Zhongli states his coded line of dialogue, but he meant it with his very being. It was painful, having to worship you from behind a screen, but it was the best he could do. He found it foolish, how a few lines of code could restrain the worship that he and the others would gladly give you, but there was not much else he could do.

Sensing your gaze at him, he wonders if the extra sentiment in his tone gave him away, ‘did you notice anything different?’ The wind carries your voice from the other side of the screen, a small chuckle escaping your lips, Zhongli smiles to himself, feeling blessed to have heard your laugh, but he was quickly taken aback by your next sentiment.

“Aha…could’ve said that yesterday before I got a fever…”

What?

You were sick? Well, Zhongli can’t have that.

“Thanks though, Zhongli. Now off to see what else Dragonspine has in store…”

Zhongli’s body moves according to your whim, raiding enemy camps and opening every treasure chest you could find. Despite all this activity, his mind was solely focused on you currently being sick. Still, he performs to the best of his abilities alongside the others in your team; if making sure you cleared Dragonspine with ease lessens the current frustrations you were enduring, then it shall be done.

Although a few moments later, everything became quite sloppy; He would pause every now and again, accidentally standing a tad too close to enemies, making him fight all of a sudden without warning. All accompanied with the sound of your sniffles, complaints about the room being too cold but feeling too hot under your covers, Zhongli could only stand still as a hilichurl took aim at him, but he was swiftly teleported off to Dragonspine’s Statue of the Seven.

Regaining control once more over his own body after a while, his only thoughts were about you; is someone taking care of you? How are you feeling? He felt useless, yet he knows there isn’t a thing he can do.

'Your Grace, if you could answer my prayers just this once, please let me take care of you.'

The next thing the Geo Archon knew, he feels light surround his being; blinding him temporarily before dispersing to reveal his new surroundings; a small and messy bedroom, clothes lazily strewn around, various stuffed animals either on the bed or have fallen off. Zhongli was confused. Where in the world was he?

Examining the room a bit more, he heard heavy breathing. Turning to the bed, it seems there was a person buried under a blanket and a mountain of plush animals.

Carefully getting rid of the stuffed toys and removing the covers, Zhongli's eyes widen at the sight of your sickly form.

'I'll take care of you, Your Highness.'

♡♡♡

Zhongli had no idea how anything in your home functioned. After cleaning up your room without disturbing your restless slumber, he made a mental list to get you a damp towel, brew some tea with medicinal herbs and get you your medicine.

But he was not sure where to start; your home was uncharted territory and he had no directions, no clues, and no idea how or where to start. Though, he wouldn't let this hinder his ability to care for you, Zhongli was determined to figure it out, all for your sake.

Leaving your room, he navigates himself to a small kitchen. It was clean, sleek, and modern. Far too modern for him.

Looking through the cabinets, he manages to find a kettle and a few other pots and pans— maybe he can cook something for you, he hopes you don't mind him looking through your belongings, but it's all for you in the end.

♡♡♡

An hour has passed and the only thing he has managed to do was place a damp towel on your forehead, he managed to work the stove and boil some water for your tea (none of them contained medicinal herbs but it would have to do, much to his dismay), and now he was looking through your medicine cabinet; full of pills with names he could barely pronounce and had no clue what they were for.

Rather than wasting time trying to guess, he decided to just grab them all and place them in a container, putting them on the desk next to your bed for easy access when you wake up. Next on the agenda; cooking.

♡♡♡

Oh, good Creator, you barely had any food apart from unfamiliar snacks. Colorful bags of chips, instant noodles, cup ramen, candy– anything else was canned or leftovers that needed reheating.

Taking a pack of instant ramen, he examined it as if it was a foreign artifact, his amber gaze studying the basic instructions as if the world would crumble if he got even the water measurement wrong. Regardless, he followed the directions to a T.

♡♡♡

You find yourself slowly becoming aware of your surroundings, though your eyes refused to open. Your temperature was better compared to when you fell asleep. Your eyes fluttered open even if you didn't want to wake up yet, the smell of instant ramen was prevalent in the air as you felt a damp towel on your forehead, was that always there?

"Please rest a bit more, your highness."

Your eyes glanced to the owner of the voice; it was familiar, warm, caring. 'This has to be a dream.' Regardless, you fell back asleep for a few more minutes.

♡♡♡

You wake up fully, your room suddenly tidy. A bowl of ramen, a cup of tea, and your entire medicine cabinet was suddenly at your desk.

'I don't remember cleaning...and who brought these things here?'

Looking at the stuff on your desk closely, you found a note.

“Please rest a bit more, Your Highness. I hope I was able to be of assistance to you.”

Weird. Did a friend come over to pull a prank? No, it didn't make sense, they were all busy. Cautiously, you ate a bit of the ramen and took a sip of the tea, your mind wondering who in the world could've done this.

'Heh, maybe Zhongli heard me and those SAGAU fics became real.'

Oh, if only you knew...

So I was listening to the prince of Egypt soundtrack when I got an idea, imposter au (the one where there’s a legit imposter that’s posing as you) x the prince of Egypt, specifically the Plagues song.

I know it sounds crazy and like it wouldn’t fit, BUT think about it, God darling sending messages to the imposter telling them to knock it off or else, the imposter decides to be a lil shit and wants to see what this “or else” is.

Immediately, reader starts off plaguing the nations like in the prince of Egypt. Cursing their crops and whatnot and sparing and protecting those who they seek innocent in this and the believers who don’t believe the imposter. On the last night of the plagues, instead of killing the first borne or whatever, instead reader raises the characters most loved dead person to shame them for their actions while the people who looked like reader who have been murdered drag out the imposter to face the real god, reader

Oh, anon I love this idea!

I will confess I've never seen the prince of egypt, haha, but I'll do my best to answer this!

Fyi, I love a morally grey reader so...

Darling already knew who they were - the Creator.

So when they heard of an imposter posing as them, they were furious.

Residing in the Abyss, they had been talking out negotiations for the Prince to hopefully not destroy Teyvat - after all, it was your beloved creation.

As Darling sees the Archons of Liyue and Mondstadt bowing down to the imposter, practically tripping over themselves to please them.

How dare they?

After all, a heretic using darling's name to command the archons was against the Creator themselves.

So Darling decides to take is slowly.

They send visions - dreams - to the imposter. They slowly ruin the silk flowers that the silk clothing the imposter comes from - the farmers are not spared. They were the ones to willingly provide the silk, after all. Many starve to death.

The imposter doesn't heed their words.

However, Zhongli has started to have doubts. Whenever he mentions bringing a gift to his god, the sources of the gift start to vanish. He had doubts about his god's personality - after all, it didn't match what the scriptures said about their kindness and generosity. But he didn't act on them, as it would be absolute treason.

As the imposter learns of what has been happening, they see Zhongli hesitate to serve them on his knees, and they throw a fit of rage.

"How dare you! I am the Creator!"

And Zhongli leaves their side.

Venti hesitates to leave however, having already spent too much time with the... imposter? Creator? to have so easily abandoned them. After all, they'd visited Mondstadt first.

Darling is furious at this.

They send a wave of plague to Mondstadt, only sparing the innocent.

Jean struggles to deal with the outbreak, running straight to the imposter to beg for a miracle.

The imposter cannot do anything.

However, the children are miraculously spared. Those who were too young to fully understand that the imposter was someone supposedly 'important', who didn't bow down to them...

Parts of Teyvat start to flee to the only Creator's temple, begging for protection.

This satisfies Darling, somewhat.

After all, less and less people are running to the imposter - who resides elsewhere.

As people start to die in droves, those who reside in the temple seeking your protection - those who never prostrated themselves at the imposters feet - are safe. None show any symptoms of the diseases, and they are all granted great kindness in the face of your wrath.

The imposter refuses to move, but their great mass of followers has dwindled.

You listen to the stories of those who sought refuge - apparently, the imposter has been killing off those with any resemblance to you. You shake in rage.

How dare they exert their power, pretending they are you?

You raise a hand, summoning those recently dead, and pick out those who were murdered by the fanatics who followed the imposter's teachings.

And with them, you teleport into the home of the imposter - which has been almost entirely abandoned.

The only one who remain are Venti, Jean, Kazuha, Diluc, Kujou Sara, and Ei.

Eyes cold and stormy, you summon another wave of dead.

Venti crumples to his knees, eyes wide, as a look-alike of him appears. He sobs for forgiveness, but his twin only shakes his head, turning away coldly.

Jean feels like a little kid again when she sees her family - the ones she sought so desperately to please - look at her in disgust. What did she do wrong?

Kazuha feels his blood go cold when Tomo appears again. Tomo's usually bright smile is sinister. Tomo grabs his shoulder, nails pressing in, as he hisses, "I am so, so disappointed in you. I hate to have to call you friend." He can't bear to try and remove the hand from his shoulder.

Diluc's mask cracks as he sees his father standing in front of him. Like he was never killed. But his father only scowls at him. "I have no words for you. A Khaenri'an traitor was a better son then you." And he weeps.

Ei sees her twin appear again, and she steps forward in shock as her twin stares at her. A sad frown appears on her twin's face, and she turns away. "I thought I could trust you with our creator. I was wrong."

Sara has none that she attached herself to easily - the life of a general was not a social one. But her devotion to her Archon causes her to watch in shock as the mirror to Ei gives her a cold stare as well.

As those killed in the imposters name move forward, the imposter is dragged out of their home, screeching.

Their words are empty now, face bone white.

They know who they've angered.

They are executed on the steps of your temple, as a warning to those who actually try to impersonate you. As for the rest of the imposter's remaining followers? They are left to endless drown in their own sorrow - day after day, they are trapped in a cycle of misery and pain.

You easily replace Barbatos and Ei with a flick of your hand. Teyvat listens to your will. Morax is spared, but just barely. He now carries a scar you inflicted upon his face - a reminder of what happens when one forsakes the Creator.

You return to the Abyss, and smirk.

Next time, they should've worshipped you. Imposters are not tolerated in Teyvat. And no matter how many you must kill and drown in sorrow, you will get the awe and worship you deserve.

Hello!

For the event, I'd like a chocolate milk with bitter golden envy flavor and bitter syrup. I'd like to send Diluc, "I want you to know that I'm never leaving."

From sexy thief reader.

(i would also like to say that i looked at the bitter golden envy and bitter syrup and thought, "this is gonna be a pretty bitter chocolate milk.")

An order for the 900+ Follower event(closed)

Coming right up!

You want a chocolate milk (headcanons) with bitter golden envy flavor (villain au) and an added bitter syrup (consort tag). You'd like to send Diluc "I want you to know that I'm never leaving." From sexy thief reader. Got it!

*~Notes: bitter chocolate milk does not sound pleasant but hey what's wrong with trying new things >:)))

Would recommend reading this before continuing as it will provide some context though it is not required.

*~Warnings: Fighting (no blood mentioned), villain au, cult behaviors

Diluc held onto your hair tightly, flipping his sword in his hand to slice you in half. With no hesitation you cut at your hair, chopping some of it off and nicking his fingers.

He hissed in pain, faltering for a split moment which was enough for you to slip away in a blue flicker, reappearing behind him and bashing his head with the hilt of your daggers.

You froze as the red-head dropped to the ground.

"Shit." You hissed.

Gingerly, you poked the unconscious form of the Darknight Hero. He didn't budge, but he was still breathing. Just in case he was attempting to fake you out.

Keeping him in your peripheral, you scanned the surrounding area. You frowned, "Goddamnit, of course you had to follow me all the way out here..." You tapped your foot, contemplating the right course of action, "It'd take a while for someone to find you... ugh-"

A mitachurl approached, sensing your distress. Its eyes flickered between you and the unconscious Diluc.

You smiled sheepishly, "Could you help me... uh... drag him back to my little camp?"

The mitachurl followed your orders, picking Diluc up as you led them to your temporary camp in the depths of Brightcrown Canyon.

You nodded your thanks to the mitachurl as they set the man down on your bed made of spare cloth. As the mitachurl left you stared down at the red-head now on your "bed", unconscious.

With a heavy sigh, you plopped down next to him to check for any serious damage and contemplated your next course of action.

You could keep him here, wait until he wakes up, and possibly demand compensation from him. Or be nice and inform him of what happened, though that sounded much harder.

Or, you could leave. Let him wake up in a safe(ish) environment, let him go back to Mondstadt and tell everyone how you didn't kill him when you had the opportunity to.

Though, really, where would that get you? Those idiots are too far gone in their made-up fantasy to believe any scrap of truth you presented to them.

You sighed and zoned back in on checking up on Diluc after realizing you hadn't been paying much attention to the task.

Your breath caught in your throat as his bright red eyes were now open and staring directly at you.

Fuck-

You unsheathed your weapon and pointed it directly at him though he barely flinched.

"You could've killed me back there," His voice held a strong front, but it was quiet. As though he didn't want to break the air of tension between him and your blade, "Wh..." He frowned, furrowing his eyebrows, "Why didn't you?"

You blinked and snarled down at him, "Know your place, I'm the one with a knife to your throat-"

"And will you have the guts to kill me this time? Or was it not guts, but care? Did you care?" His eyes portrayed no fear, merely a hunger.

You couldn't answer him, your hands twitched but not in bloodthirst.

You grit your teeth together, "You're ungrateful," You snarled, "All of you, are so ungrateful."

He said nothing as your blade hovered over his neck, his eyes dug into your soul, breaking you down into bits and crumbs. He undid you as tears threatened your eyes because both he and you knew you wouldn't plunge it into his throat.

You huffed, forcing the tears back in favor of hot anger overwhelming your chest, "The past two years were a complete waste," You threw the weapon aside, standing up with your nails digging into the palms of your hands, "And for what. Some stupid god that you've never even seen."

Diluc was silent for a moment, sitting up in the pathetic excuse for a bed, " I believe I have met them." You whipped around and came face-to-face with the red-head. His fiery orbs stared into your own with so many emotions that the rest of his face didn't reflect on, "Your grace."

You pushed your hand against his forehead, pushing him away from you, "Don't call me that. Never compare me to the god you tried to kill me for. No matter what the truth may be, I don't want your titles."

"Then..." His eyebrows furrowed, his carefully crafted defense cracking, "Do you want me to call you by name?"

You narrowed your eyes at the man, before sighing, "Not like there's any records of me here, and there's nothing else I want you to call me so..." You held your gloved hand out, your characteristically smug smile adorning your face. In your eyes there was a subtle glint of companionship, "The name's Y/n. It was nice to beat you, Diluc." You chuckled.

He blinked down at your hand, looked up to your eyes, and something within his calm red orbs shifted. They turned wild, passionate. The vision attached to him glowed the same color as he shook your hand and you unknowingly made Diluc your closest acolyte.

You didn't know... Diluc knew you didn't know but that didn't stop his heart from racing. Knowing the divine one's name... it was a greater honor that most of the archons didn't even possess.

With that he swore to protect you at all costs. His Darknight duties transferred from the treasonous Mondstadt to you. He'd find you in the middle of the night with a single call of your name.

No matter where in the wide lands of Teyvat you may be, when he said your name loud and true you heard it clearer than the whispers of prayers in your ears. (Prayers you had no interest in hearing.) You knew where he was immediately and could teleport to his location with no difficulty

The first time it had happened, it was on Stormbearer Mountains. You were shocked at the instant notice and how easy it was to teleport. You had assumed he was dying or something and needed your help...

but no.

He was just sitting on the edge of the cliff, his legs dangling down and his back facing you. It'd be easy to take his life, he was practically asking you to, but you didn't. Just like last time you clung onto your scraps of humanity and all the same throwing it away.

You sat by Diluc, the wind rustling your large hat and his bright red hair.

He could tell the whole world who you really were. A word from him, the ever serious ex-knight, would be enough for someone to investigate. But could you really kill him? Get rid of the threat? He could make you a god, the one thing you truly hated in this world full of love.

In the end, nightly meetings, and eventually meetings during the day as well, occurred often. The two of you growing closer and closer, him settling into the consort role you hadn't fully recognized. Still, he took care of you like one anyways.

Food, baths, a bed to sleep in until morning, a warm body to keep the cold away anytime and anywhere.

You could play the role of human imposter and he a heretic until the charade was blown to pieces.

Until then, and even after you're forced to face reality, he'll stay by your side. Happy to be your consort as long as you will have him, as long as he will breathe.
