something that always bazingas my doioioings is when fanfiction artists claim voidwalkers breathe ozone, but can’t breathe over world air specifically because it has *too much oxygen*. it’s their art, no hate. Art is art, and it doesn’t ever take away from the experience. But ozone (O3, trioxygen) as an atmosphere, is straight up just denser, and has more oxygen. Tryoxygen is three oxygen atoms bound, instead of two. It doesn’t really make sense that voidwalkers breathe tryoxygen, but not the over world atmosphere because it’s too dense. If fanartists claimed it was too *thin* instead of too *thick* it would make sense, I dunno. im sure someone smarter than me could connect things together to make it work.

alternate idea: xisuma takes supplemental CO2 via cannula to reduce oxygen intake, and in extreme cases, CO. CO bonds to hemoglobin to form carboxyhemoglobin, which strengthens the bonds of hemoglobin and oxygen, hindering the ability to release oxygen to his cells, and absorb more.
