no but this breaks my heart because you're right... it's clear that Niall had really, really high hopes for this album. I've said before that it was supposed to be his Fine Line for his career and it just,,, wasn't. I can't imagine pouring your whole soul into an album that should have taken him to the next level and then it ends up just falling short of your expectations for reasons that are not really anyone's fault. It feels so sad to know that he's kinda lost everything related to the album, including his opportunity to tour it. Heartbreak Weather deserved a grammy nomination, genuinely, and Niall knows it. You can feel a little bit of bitterness under the warm humor when he talks about the album. I will never stop ranting about how much this album deserved.

I’m not entirely surprised.

He gave up on Heartbreak Weather halfway through 2020.

My theory is that everything that’s happened today is being done just to show that he’s acknowledged the anniversary and to pacify the fans...but it doesn’t seem like there was much thought or emotion put into any of it.
