Love can't cure a mental illness
Just try to think that out of context, as an asexual. That's honestly so comforting to know that you don't have to change yourself. That you won't be 'normal' unless you're allo. I mean yes love is important, but not always romantically. And not loving people like that, it just proves that there is nothing 'wrong' with you, and being aroace is not a mental illness. anyone get what I'm saying? Love can't cure a mental illness. God, I love that line

I see so many people say that Heartstopper is unrealistic. I always thought that was the point. I see Heartstopper as a queer version of a straight romcom.
Its part of the reason I love Heartstopper so much. It realistically shows mental health struggles and lgbtq people but the situations aren't what typically happens for queer people in a relationship.
Anyway I'm fucking hyped for s2.

Charlie’s insane personal growth in asking Nick to undress him. Only a few months ago he refused to even take off his shirt. Now, he’s free to enjoy his body and savor these intimate moments with his boyfriend. I love you, Charlie Spring. Please never stop showing the world that recovery is possible.
Watching today’s youth grow up with characters like Charlie Spring, Nick Nelson, Mike Wheeler, Will Byers, and so many others who are not only creating an entirely new class of fan culture, but setting the stage for long-overdue conversations gives me hope for the future.
They’re placing young men’s mental health center stage and reminding everyone that reaching out for help does not make you weak, it means you’re strong enough to pull yourself out of your darkest moments. I’m honored to live in the era of groundbreaking mainstream television and witness the life-saving conversations taking place around them. Everyone working on these shows (and countless others) are out here saving lives and giving people like me who grew up feeling like a mistake hope. Reminding us that it does get better, if you have the courage to reach out and grab the freedom for yourself.
