Hi (y/n)!
I really miss you. I know you died, I’m not stupid. Everyone keeps trying to jump around saying it to me.
ESPECIALLY MOM!!!!
I was at Mike’s house when you died though. Mrs. Wheeler cried because mom called her and told her. She almost fell down the stairs coming to the basement because she came down them so fast.
I was really confused about why she was so sad and even more confused when she hugged me and kept saying that things were going to be ok.
Mike, Lucas, and Will were super confused too.
I didn’t even know what was going on until mom came and picked me up like 15 minutes later. She was crying too. I was kinda surprised she didn’t crash on her way there.
Mrs. Wheeler hugged me again before leading me to the front door where mom was waiting.
The guys ran up the stairs to see what was going on and then we all found out because Mrs. Wheeler walked out to mom and started saying stuff about you being in a better place now and that she was so sorry
I couldn’t really make out anything else she said because mom and she were both crying
I remember I turned back to the guys and without even realizing it I started crying too
They all looked so confused because you were the coolest person we knew and we just didn’t get how you could just die.
I knew almost everyone that went to your funeral, the only person I didn’t recognize was this one guy. He was older, like 50 or something maybe.
I would ask you who he was but your dead now so I can’t.
It’s really weird being an only child now. You were one for a little bit before I was born but I was never supposed to be one.
I feel bad for not telling you this too but before you died we found out that there’s another dimension and it’s attacking the town and mike is totally in love with this girl with super powers even though he denies it all the time and Will is kind of possessed and one time I gave that girl, her name is Eleven, by the way, I gave her some of your old clothes.
You never mentioned missing those clothes so I don’t think you would’ve cared even if you knew I gave them to Eleven.
I keep waking up in the middle of the night because I’ll have a dream that you’re just pranking me and everyone is in on it and I’ll run into your room and think you’ll be there laughing at how long I fell for it but you're never there.
All your stuff is there, just the way you left it. But no you.
I heard someone say you did it to yourself but I don’t believe that. You wouldn’t do that.
I really miss you (y/n). I miss you driving me to school sometimes too.
I like riding my bike to school but I liked when you would drive me more. Even though I didn’t always act like it when you were here.
I was playing with Mews earlier and I had this really weird thought,
one day I’ll be older than you! Isn’t that weird? I’ll always be your little brother but in a few years I’ll be older than you
That is weird. Super weird!
Sorry for not telling you about the other dimension stuff when you were still here again. I didn’t want to tell you because I was scared you would get hurt but you would’ve thought Eleven was super cool.
I love and miss you (y/n)
p.s
I really miss being your brother even though we would fight sometimes

“Change will forever be a constant phenomenon, no matter how hard you try to fight against it.”
The gradual growth of chaos as life in California slowly gets packed away in boxes only left an empty feeling. Framed photos, collages, and band posters that once covered all four walls of her solace, were now all tucked away. Walls that screamed personality and joy, were now empty and silent.
The home that used to be filled with furniture, portraits, and warmth was now bare and cold. Rows of boxes stacked on top of each other took over the living room. The soft crackle of the radio and pitter patter of the rain took over the silence gripping the atmosphere.
“What a great way to start spring break,” Y/N mumbled, rummaging through her backpack. “Going back to live in your childhood home just because your mother’s ego was hurt.” As she glanced at the empty room one last time, all Y/N could feel was the bittersweetness of her current situation.
Moving back to Hawkins means more time with Steve, Robin, and Dustin. That’s good right? “There’s nothing wrong with change, right?” Y/N thought to herself.

“Gentlemen, the first rule of Hellfire is punctuality.”
On Thursdays, Hellfire went all out. Uniform baseball tees bearing the club’s “problematic” logo as armor with dice held by brave souls as fine weapons. Thursdays were for days of battle, victory, or regular meetings in preparation for a campaign. Though Hellfire was a D&D club for nerds indulging in a fantasy quest, the topic of Satanic worship in magazines only continued to put the club in a negative light.
Eddie Munson, the mastermind of Hellfire, was notoriously known for his loud personality and out-of-the-norm interests. For he was a metalhead and two-time repeating senior, Eddie was always the talk of the town. Being Hawkins’ social pariah and “freak” meant eyes across the town judged his every single move.
Though Eddie “the freak” Munson remained ignorant about the stares and names he was called, deep inside all vulnerable, was a boy that just wanted to be loved and accepted.
As the clock struck three, students scurrying out of classrooms and flooding hallways was a common sight to behold; loitering students, couples making out by their lockers, and cliques walking together. The students of Hawkins High sure do love the hallways. For one to get through, one had to run like hell to make it in time for club meetings.
“Shit. Shit. Shit. We’re gonna be late!” Dustin exclaimed, pushing through the crowd of seniors as he muttered apologies. Dustin Henderson making his way through the hallway on Thursday was a sight to see, little legs running way faster than ever. “He’s going to kill us! Shit!” Mike replied, heavily panting as he struggled to keep up with his best friend.
The sight of room 204 with the Hellfire logo plastered on the door brought relief to the freshmen, with chests heaving and sweat dripping down their foreheads, running down the crowded hallways should be considered a sport.
Hellfire was set in the old drama club room, filled with old props which gave the room a rundown tavern feel. The wide array of colored lamps and velvet curtains covering windows truly gave the room extra flare; however, the mastermind’s throne at the head of the table was the room’s centerpiece. With how the throne was placed, everything would be seen by The Dungeon Master.
“Well, if it isn’t Henderson and Wheeler.” Eddie announced to his fellow members. As the Dungeon Master sat on his throne, the sight of his fingers tapping on the throne’s armrest and unreadable expression on his face. The freshmen knew they were fucked.

Part 1
Just Breathe
Summery: You come back to your family after dropping out of college, but maybe it isn't as bad as you thought.
Warnings: Hurt/comfort, reader feeling like a failure, Claudia Henderson being a good Mom, and a excited Dustin at the end. <3
Note: A blurb written while high, projecting myself a little lol. This is the start of my Lonely Day series btw (Eddie x Reader)

Breath in, breath out.
You dragged your feet as you walked up the driveway to your "childhood" home, dreading the conversation you were about to have. After burning out at community college, you knew you had to swallow your pride and admit defeat to your mom. I mean, it's not that you were demanded to be the golden child, but you still tried to do your best.
What would you even say?
Breath in, breath out. You turned the doorknob and walked inside. "Mom, I'm home..." you called out tentatively. You heard footsteps before your mother appeared, taking in your dejected expression with a soft sigh. "Oh baby... come sit down and tell me what happened."
Between shaky breaths you explained how overwhelmed you felt, the constant pressure of classes and exams proving to be too much. Your mother listened silently, taking your hands in hers with sympathy in her eyes.
In, out, in, out, in, out. Ragged.
You felt like such a failure after living up to the high expectations you set to yourself for so long. But your mom reassured you that your worth wasn't defined by grades or achievements. "For now, just focus on yourself okay? Don't worry - everything will work out, honey."
You hoped she was right. In that moment, returning home seemed like the only choice... even if it meant facing your own insecurities and rebuilding your confidence from the ground up.
"No way! You're here!" Your brother's voice was heard from the stairway, and your heart already felt less heavy.

It's a day I can't stand

Summery: You are dragged to the Hellfire club by your little brother, and you meet the one who will change your life (although you don't know it yet).
Contains: Dustin trying to help his sister, Eddie in DM mode, overthinking reader.
Warnings: references to "The Flight of Icarus"
Note: i kinda had a writer block, so I don't know how this turned out.

Your brother had been insisting for several days that you accompany him to his weekly DnD meeting, saying that you couldn't keep being locked in your room and feeling sorry for yourself. He was really worried about you, you could hear it in his voice. And this is why you find yourself now walking through the halls of Hawkins High after two years on your way to the drama room, just as awful as you remember. And as you neared the drama room you could already hear him inside, putting on that theatrical DM voice of his while clearly lecturing the other kids.
Dustin haven't stopped talking about him since you came back, telling you how amazing he was. Edward Munson, his DM, and his new role-model (and you just knew Harrington wouldn't be fond of this). You were in the same generation as him during high school, Higgins tried to get him to drop out several times, everyone believed him and his friends were satanic cause they had "weird" tastes and for being obnoxious. And he didn't graduated with the rest of your class.
Dustin slid open the door and Eddie's gaze lifted and caught yours, brows raising in brief surprise, but continued his dramatics as if to not lose his crowd. Well, as long as he left you out of it you'd survive this one meeting, for Dustin's sake.
For now, you steeled yourself and slipped into the room, keeping your guard up as the game began anew.

During the campaign Eddie didn't pay much attention to your presence, a small welcome and a "don't interrupt the flow of the session" was all he said to you, taking his Master role a-little-too serious, not that you cared.
The session went on for a couple of hours, with Dustin and the others fully immersed in Eddie's storytelling. You had to admit, he was good at what he did. Though you kept to yourself in the corner, observing more than participating, you found yourself getting pulled into the fantasy world despite your initial reluctance.
Finally the sesion came to an end, and taking the opportunity, Dustin bounded over to you excitedly. "So what do you think so far, sis? Eddie's campaign is super cool, right?"
You gave a noncommittal shrug. "It's not bad, I guess. Your DM certainly knows how to weave a tale."
Suddenly Eddie was by your side, believing it was the reasonable thing to do to finally go talk to you. "Henderson The First, Thought you were gonna out of this shit-hole forever."
He has this smile in his face that's so warm, like his teasing wasn't in a rude way. And it made your tummy turn a little bit.
"Munson. Long-time no-see." You smiled back.
"Indeed. What brings you here this fine evening?"
"I'm staying here for a while, and Dustin wanted me to check out Hellfire. Didn't knew you still run the club."
"Yeah, I just couldn't abandon my sheep, y'know?"
You gave him an awkward laugh.
"and... How's Veronica?"
You ask, just to continue the smalltalk. She was Eddie's best friend since they were 8, attached to the hip, and they basically looked like twins, too.
You and Veronica Ecker shared a few classes in your senior year, and although you weren't friends at all, you were both said to be "Hawkins' success story"; The 'They will leave this nothing town in the middle of nowhere to go to the big city and have a successful life, because they made the effort, because they deserve it.'
At least she could keep that title.
Stop overthinking.
"Ronnie," he said almost as a correction - 's still in New York, haven't talk to her in a while" the change in his tone was so obvious in made you feel like and idiot. Of course he hadn't talk to her. Idiot.
"Oh..." Was all that left your lips, and thank God your brother got your anxious vibe, cause he said the good-byes for the both of you and led you outside.
Well, shit.
