Mix and Match Bless My New Year charm

You’ll Need:

A small bottle or a cloth sachet in your choice of color

A bit your hair or the hair of whomever you want blessed by the charm

Some type of marker or paint pen

Scratch paper and a pen

*Optional* An extra piece of small sized paper

In addition to those items you’ll need at least one item off each of these lists. Use whichever one(s) you’d prefer and you’re welcome to chose more than one. I have tried to keep the lists down to those items you can easily find in your home, pantry, yard, local park, or grocery.

Love

Apple seeds

Vanilla pod not vanilla extract

Cinnamon

Rose

Rosemary

Rose Quartz

Amethyst

Money

Almond

Basil

Rice

Sesame Seeds

Moss Agate

Luck

Allspice

Cotton

Holly

Nutmeg

Star Anise

Clover

Happiness

Catnip

Marjoram

Morning Glory

Saffron

Health

Lemon (zest would work wonderfully)

Thyme

Eucalyptus

Chamomile

Garlic

Mint

Citrine

Friendship

Lavender

Clove

Pink or Yellow Rose petals

Honeysuckle

Orange (again, zest would be ideal)

Prosperity

Bay

Sunflower

Oak

Carnelian

What you’ll do:

Use your scratch paper to devise a sigil for “A Happy New Year”. When you’re happy with the results use the markers or paint pens to draw that sigil on the outside of the bottle or cloth sachet. If you’d rather not do that use the optional piece of paper to write the sigil on, roll it up scroll style and slip it into the container.

Place the rest of your items in your chosen container. If you’ve chosen to use a small bottle or vial layer the items as decoratively as you can. Place them in whatever order you’d prefer. There is no rhyme or reason to their placement.

Once you have your items how you want them in the container seal or sew it up. If you’re using a bottle and would like a wax seal using a white candle would be a good option.

Once you have it sealed up. Hold it in your hands and concentrate on what you’d like to be blessed with this new year and/or the things you’d like to accomplish. Then say:

In this New Year, full of promise;

May friendship and love be ever in my life

Let me be blessed with good health and plenty of money

Let happiness by mine in spades

I will be blessed with luck and prosperity in all aspects of my life

2014 will be my year to shine!

Place your charm in the room in your home that you spend the most time in. You can either hide it or use it decoratively as your own preferences dictate.

Happy New Year everyone!
