Meet My MCs: Percival Valley

Percival's backstory was well summarized with Idris's here, so I'm gonna talk more about his in-game lore.

First of all, while both twins can see Ancient Magic, only Percival can use it. It manifests in Idris by just boosting his magic in some ares beyond what should be possible and giving him instincts almost akin to spider sense. As a result, Percival and Idris have to bargain and plead with the Keepers to let Idris even come to the trials.

With that context, fast forward to Feldcroft. Percival and Idris knew Anne was sick but they didn't quite grasp what was really going on with here. So when they met this young girl dying of dark magic from Ranrok (allegedly) who shared the name of their little sister who died horribly the same way...they panicked.

Percival's Ancient Magic reacted to his desperation and he instinctively followed it. HE already had a knack for healing magic so that combined with Ancient Magic allowed him to miraculously pull the magic from Anne's body. But, the curse needed a host or it was going to right back into Anne. Percival panicked and pulled the curse into himself instead.

The curse fed on the Ancient Magic within him, making it more powerful and killing him exponentially faster than it was Anne. Idris and the others go on a race against the clock to find a cure but the curse takes Percival, painfully, within 24 hours.

Idris is devastated and his grief combined with Percy's Ancient Magic flowing into them forced the Ancient Magic to split itself and Idris's very life force in half and revive Percival. He's still cursed but with two life forces to feed on, at least it's killing him much more slowly. But who knows how much time they really have?

Finally! I’ve been wanting to make an HL fanart of my own since a few weeks after the game launched but I just never have the time and mental energy for it… also I have not drawn anything purely for myself for ages :””” it’s usually always for work and other people. This ia my first art post in a long while!

It frustrates me that it took a little bit more than a month for me to draw an artwork bcs I had so little time between my job and obligatory activities outside of work..

But here we are! Meet my MC, Winter Blackstone

A character sheet I did for my MC Winter Blackstone! Winter is definitely a knowledge-thirsty girl, her drive to study and her curiosity is strong especially since she discovered that she can do magic.

She loves cooking and learning languages, and that kinda translates to her finding potions and ancient runes very fascinating, and having a huge interest in potions and the possibilities means that Garreth gets a supporter in his creative shenanigans (much to Sebastian’s displeasure). She would insist Ominis to repeat her phrases in Parseltongue and would try to figure out its syntax.

Imagine Winter asking Amit to teach her Gobbledegook though, and this would happen way before the hilarious display of Amit attempting to speak it to Lodgok.

I will draw her with the other HL characters ~~hopefully~~ very soon!

Posting a WIP, I am frustrated about not being able to work on this piece for weeks bcs I’m currently working 2 jobs…. Thinking about quitting the lesser paying one though… hopefully I can finish this soon! In the meantime do enjoy this sneak peek of Seb, Winter, and Natty ☺️ There’s more people in the back but I’ll just let you guess🩵

Sebastian rushed into the Room of Requirement, panting from a good 30 minutes of running around the castle. “Winter, where are you? Everyone has been looking for you over dinne—oh…”

There was her, cuddled up closely against Snowball, still in her uniform.

He looked at them fondly, her peaceful face glowing, her breathing slow and soft. He spotted the new constellation blanket beside them, the one Amit gave her this morning as her birthday present. Still folded neatly, unused.

Gently, he unfolded the star-scattered sheet over her and moved closer as silently as he could, as not to wake the both of them, especially the usually alert Snowball. He kissed her forehead and caressed the crown of her head.

“Sweet dreams, my snowflake.”

I tried playing with more saturated colors, not 100% loving it atm bcs I feel like I could make a scheme that I like better if I have more time but alas, this should do for now.

LATE MERMAY POST - Because last month my job was very hectic and this weekend happens to be June already 😔

I wrote a quick small drabble below that goes with this drawing, enjoy

SharkMerman!Sebastian x IceBettaMermaid!Winter (MC) ❄️🩵🧜🏻‍♂️🧜🏻‍♀️

Sebastian is a magical shark merman that loves exploring new places and has a voracious appetite for adventure. While exploring the Greenland Sea, he encountered and fell in love with Winter, a rare mythical species of Betta mermaid that could live in icy seawater. He discovered after talking with her that there are currently only three of these Betta merfolks in the entire Arctic ocean, including her.

He could only see her a couple of times a week because his body could not withstand the icy temperature and his self-warming spell could only last for a day. During the remainder of the time, he would have to return to his home in the Northern Atlantic Ocean.

When she first met Sebastian, Winter was enthralled with his vast knowledge and intellect, as well as his witty and charming attitude. He has a kind and loving heart, despite the fact that he could be rather crafty at times and his stubborn disposition occasionally left her shaking her head.

Sebastian adores her quirky personality and caring nature, and he became even more enamored with her when he discovered that she possesses both intelligence and curiosity that rivals his. And Merlin’s bloody tail, while he finds her beauty captivating, her desire for knowledge is as powerful and forceful as the Gulf Stream, and he’s a goner for her. When he comes to visit her place, they always spend time together, whether it's going on long swims exploring places or simply chatting for hours.

Driven by a desire to see each other frequently, he trained his body to become more tolerant of the cold while she increased her tolerance to warmer waters. He would teach her spells to keep her body chilly while he practiced his self-warming charms to last even longer than before.

Even though their training allowed them to spend days or even weeks together, their enchantment doesn't endure long enough for their liking.

Nevertheless, they are resolute to search for a way to remain together, indefinitely, without the use of their magic.

A Ravenclaw Lunch 🦅

Drew some of my favorite Ravenclaws on this platform. Although one isn't necessarily a Ravenclaw. (@traceyc-uk I genuinely thought he was a Ravenclaw when I first saw him lol but I saw your comment reply somewhere that your first playthrough was Ravenclaw so I think this counts… a bit? 😂)

This post is basically a peace offering (and a love letter) bcs I want to make more Ravenclaw friends 👀👉🏻👈🏻 definitely not because I'm obsessed with you guys' MCs

I swear it was supposed to be a silly doodle at first but idk how or when down the line but somehow it turned into this mega drawing. Took me weeks to finish it. I’m not happy with a few technical things especially lights and shadows… and some other things as well but I leave it be bcs I’m aware that I’m still learning 🥲 The rest I’m pretty satisfied with, I’m just happy that I got to finally finish this.

William Blackstone was born as a squib, but despite lacking magical abilities he’s always fond of the wizarding world. Every chance he gets, he picks up any wizarding book he can gets his hands on, some from his family’s library or his sister’s school books, and others he obtained himself. This hobby follows him well into his adulthood. He held out hope that his daughter Winter won’t turn out like him, considering his wife is an excellent and talented witch. He had his suspicions about Winter because she doesn’t show signs of magical abilities in the age where she’s supposed to. Both him Winter were heartbroken when she didn’t get her Hogwarts letter at the age of 11, solidifying his suspicions that she’s also a squib, and he blamed himself for it.

A few months after, he took his daughter to the Guisachan in Glen Affric, Invernshire, home of the Marjoribanks, whom William was loosely acquainted with. (Disclaimer: this relationship is totally fictional) He wanted to get a dog to cheer Winter, as she was still saddened by the fact that she doesn’t have magic. She then picked a male puppy who has coats of fur unusually lighter than its siblings, took him home and named him Snowball.

When Winter turned 15, both of them were very surprised to receive an enrollment letter from Hogwarts, accompanied with the arrival of Professor Fig. As this is a very unusual phenomenon that he is very intrigued by, he kept in touch with Winter via Owl as she embarked on her magical education while he try to research if anything like this has ever happened before. Later he turned his research course into the mysterious ancient magic as soon as Winter sent him an Owl about her puzzling, newly-found abilities.

Headcannon: Winter urged Sebastian to stay in her home during the 5th year summer holidays as she can see that he feels conflicted about returning to Feldcroft and tagging along with Ominis to the Gaunts’ Manor doesn’t seem like a good option. He was about to stay in Hogsmeade and get a summer job but in the end he accepted her offer and spent the rest of his summer holidays in the Blackstone’s estate, where he got acquainted to William Blackstone.

“Ooh, a sleepover?” *proceeds with thinking hard about what to bake for everyone* not moony with the food art again

Winter loves cooking, but if there’s anything she loves more than cooking, it’s cooking for other people! (well, baking in this case)🍞🥐🧇🍪

Winter only gave Snowball 2 sausage rolls but clever little boy tags along for the sleepover, probably thinking that he could get the other MCs to share their sausage rolls with him if he charms them enough with his retriever shenanigans 🐶

I’M BACK!

Gosh, sorry I’ve been gone for so long. I’ve been in a bad headspace the past month, but now I’ve dragged myself out of the hellhole. Will be replying to your mentions and then posting this abandoned WIP I’ve been working on veery soon. I’m 98% done with it!
