it's insane how easily children can grasp the concept of negative numbers. like, these imaginary numbers that could never exist in the real world that are less than the lowest possible number you know. you can't even visualize it. you can't have less than 0 of something. the only way we could possible visualize it is by breaking the previously established boundaries by going backwards in the number line.
