SYNOPSIS: One thing they don't teach you in law school is how to get the guy, especially not kim namjoon who seems so unapproachable that you entrust a dear friend of yours, Jungkook, for help- except now he's realizing he rather get the girl for himself
A/n: Hey everyone! I just wanted to take a moment to apologize for the long wait on this one. Life has been pretty hectic lately, but I'm so excited to finally be able to share this with you! I really hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it. And if you do end up liking it, I would absolutely love to hear from you! Your comments and asks mean the world to me and really help me grow as a writer. So don't be shy - drop a line and let me know what you think!
Thanks so much for your patience and support. I wouldn't do this without you all.

It's 5 am when your alarm wakes you up. You groggily reach out to switch it off, feeling the heaviness in your eyes as you force yourself to get up from your bed, and as you sluggishly walk over to the window, you see that it's still dark outside.
Despite your fatigue, you know you have to start your day soon.
Working at Jeon Lawfirm, you are blessed to have a job that allows you to make a good living—being able to enjoy luxuries in life you would've never imagined as a little girl. However, this blessing comes with its own set of challenges—On some days, work hours can stretch to over 10 hours, which can be physically and mentally exhausting for someone who prefers to have as little social interaction as possible.
It's even more challenging on days where you are working alongside attorneys who have been with the firm longer than you, and they seem to pass their workload on to you.
You sigh, “Another day, another tiring 8 hours.” As you slip on your slippers and make your way to the bathroom, you mentally prepare yourself for the stressful day that lies ahead.
"Fuck me," you curse under your breath when you open your fridge and find that the meal you had promised yourself was there yesterday is now gone.
You were looking forward to having it for lunch today, and now you had to settle for a $6 normal hot coffee and maybe that 10$ sandwich that always basically smiled at you whenever you passed by at the cafe in your office building.
It's not just the cost that bothers you, but the fact that you know you could have made a better breakfast for yourself if only you hadn't eaten your meal the night prior due to your period cravings.
You start to consider your options as you rapidly make your way down the elevator of your building and catching the bus. Maybe you could try to make it to a 7/11 before work.
You like to go a little bolder with your makeup for work, considering that most women there dress to impress—This leads to the question of: Who are they trying to impress? Jeon Jungkook—the simple answer is Jeon Jungkook.
Jungkook's your friend. His parents are close to yours—however, their social status is vastly different. Despite this, Jungkook has never acted or felt superior to you, which is a demonstration of how exactly his character is.
Regardless of his social status, how much money he has or his position in the company—Jungkook and you are great friends, in fact, there's even rumors that the two of your are dating which in your opinion is ridiculous. He's like a brother to you!

“You're-” Jimin, your coworker, starts to scold you for being late, but as he glances at the clock, he realizes you're actually on time for once.
He lets out a sigh of relief and says, "-Not late, for once." You smile and give him a playful wink before walking past him and towards Jungkook's office.
The office building is immaculate. It is no wonder, though, given that it is valued at over 200 million dollars.
The rigorous selection for employment is a reflection of the building's very exclusive status, with an acceptance rate of only 0.5%. So, with the high standards, those who do manage to secure a position within the building are usually snobs in their mid 40s.
From the sleek, modern design to the state-of-the-art technology, every detail has been carefully considered to ensure that the building is a top-notch workspace. The building also has a range of different spaces, including a fully-equipped gym, on-site dining options, and even a rooftop garden where employees can relax and eat lunch during their breaks.
Overall, it is clear to you and anyone for that matter that the Jeon Lawfirm is not just a workplace but a symbol of success and exclusivity. Something that you are clearly...lacking.
You take a deep breath, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation for the day ahead—you have the feeling its gonna be a good one.
Walking down the endless luxury polished clean hallway, you think about the upcoming meeting with the team to discuss the latest case. You remember the mistakes you faced during the last one, but you're determined to take on any obstacles that come your way this time around.
As you approach Jungkook's office, you hear the sound of his laughter coming from inside. You can't help but feel a sense of comfort knowing that he's in a good mood today. You werent scared or anything but an angry Jungkook was never a good sign.
You knock on the door, and he invites you in "pass".
“Good morning, Mrs. L/n,” Namjoon, Jungkook's close friend and coworker, greeted you with a smile and you couldnt help but feel a slight blush creep up your cheeks as you returned the bow and replied with a soft “morning.”
Walking up to Jungkook with purpose, quickening your pace as you approach him. You extend your hand, holding out the reports that were due today.
Glancing at the stack of paper, Jungkook took a deep breath and began to review his meetings for the day. You knew that he was a natural leader, but you also knew that he had worked hard to get to where he was today—Jungkooks dad, Ceo of Jeon Lawfirm—wasn't one to mess with, regardless if Jungkook was his son or not, if he didn't fit the position he wouldnt be here right now.
From his early days as an intern to now being the head of the department, you had watched as he had grown and developed his skills.
As you watched Jungkook go through the reports, you couldn't help but glance around the room, your eyes meeting Namjoons for the tiniest second as he send you a small smile.
Namjoon was older than you, but cute nonetheless. In fact, you have always found something attractive about older guys, not necessarily grandpa-aged, but maybe just three to five years older than you. It's a fine line, but one that you believe is perfect. There's just something alluring about someone who has a bit more experience in life, someone who can offer a different perspective, and Namjoon seemed to fit that description perfectly, with his charming smile and confident demeanour. You found yourself drawn to him.
“Okay great, you'll be at those meetings too right?” Jungkook speaks up, placing down the reports and looking at you. You nod in agreement, happy that you'll be able to attend and contribute to the meetings once again.
"Of course, do you prefer coffee or water for the guests?" you ask, eager to ensure that everything runs smoothly. You take note of his request but as Jungkook starts to talk, you stop him with a question. "Just to clarify, are there any specific requirements for the meeting that I should be aware of?"
Jungkook pauses for a moment before responding, "Actually, y/n, you're taking over Namjoon's part for this one. Have the interns do the Organization." You feel a mix of excitement and nervousness as you realize the level of responsibility that has been entrusted to you.
Namjoon is an integral part of the team, and plays a vital role in supporting Jungkook.
He acts as Jungkook's right-hand man, always ready to lend a hand whenever Jungkook needs it. Whether it's helping with cases or providing support during a tough decision, Namjoon is always there to assist.
Jungkook looks at you expectantly, waiting for your answer. You feel your nerves getting the best of you and you take a deep breath before responding.
"Is that okay with you?" he asks again, his eyes showing a hint of concern. You let out a nervous laugh and begin playing with the pen in your hand. "No, yeah, it's totally okay. I'm just feeling a little overwhelmed," you say, trying to mask the anxiety in your voice. You take a moment to gather your thoughts and continue, "It's a great opportunity to learn more about the field"
Jungkook nods understandingly and smiles, making you feel a little more at ease.
At this point, you were feeling a mix of emotions. You weren't even sure if you were nervous because of the meeting or because of the fact that you were about to be all alone with Namjoon. The thought of being alone with him made your heart race faster. You wanted to make a good impression and show him that you were capable of handling whatever task he had for you.
“Good then I'll leave you two to it, feel free to stay in my office” Jungkool said as he stood up from his seat behind the big desk and walked out the door, leaving you all alone with namjoon.
The room was silent except for the sound of the air conditioning. Namjoon cleared his throat and gestured for you to take a seat in front of the desk. As you sat down, you noticed a picture frame on the desk; It was a picture of Jungkook and his dog bam, both of them smiling.
Namjoon noticed you looking at the picture and chuckled. "Jungkook seems cold but he wont let anything happen to that dog," he said.
You smiled politely and looked away, feeling a bit awkward. Namjoon seemed to sense your discomfort and quickly changed the subject. "So, let's get started," he said, pulling out a folder from one of the drawers. "I have some ideas for the project that I think you'll find interesting.”

"My dick is the size of that cucumber." Jimin drunkenly shouted, pointing at the fruit basket that decorated the bar where you were celebrating your company's 50th anniversary.
"Your dick is the size of a pea, so shut up." Jungkook, who was standing behind Jimin, overheard and replied.
You were drunk, laughing at Jimins unfunny jokes and laughing even more when you heard Jungkooks reply. "He ended you" you laugh pointing at your friend.
It was your first time attending a big company party, and you were determined to make a good impression. You were hesitant to drink too much at first, and risk embarrassing yourself in front of your colleagues. However, Jimin, had other plans. He insisted on taking you to the bar, where he encouraged you to try different drinks since they were free for all employees.
As you sipped on your 5th drink of the night, Jimin regaled you with hilarious stories about past company parties, and soon you found yourself laughing and relaxing more.
You had enough to drink—and Jungkook seemed to think the same as he took your cocktail from you, saying, "Come on, let me take you home."
“But we're just getting started Kook!” You whine, but don't fight it when he grabs your arm, dragging out out the hall. You didn't want to go home just yet. “Come on I promised your mom I'd have an eye on you for tonight” Jungkook replied, searching for his car keys while you leaned against his black Mercedes.
You couldn't help but feel a little disappointed, but you knew that Jungkook was just looking out for you.
“I still can't believe my Mom still makes you babysit me, I'm 24!” you argue as you sit in the passenger seat of Jungkook's car.
Jungkook laughs and shakes his head, his eyes focused on the street. "Your mom just cares about you, you know that. Plus, she knows how much Jimin means to you and how things can get out of hand when you're alone with him."
Jungkook has always been there for you. It's not just about 'babysitting' you, but also about how he's always been a shoulder to cry on and a listening ear whenever you needed it.
You remember the time when you were struggling with school and he stayed up late to help you with your homework—he's always been the smarter one, obviously. Or when you were going through a tough break-up, and he took you out for coffee to cheer you up.
It's quite interesting that both your parents have always wanted you and Jungkook to date. It's a bit of a coincidence that he is the heir of a million-dollar Law firm, and you are the daughter of his parents' best friends. They saw it as an opportunity to bring the two families together and create a strong bond. It's not every day that such a good opportunity presents itself to join two families that have been close friends for many years.
From joint family vacations to shared family events, it could have been a great experience for everyone involved.
But Jungkook didn't see you in that way for a long time. He still probably doesn't.
“You passed my place!” You argue, looking out the car window at your building.
“do you really think I'll let you sleep alone tonight? You're drunk y/n”. Jungkook chuckles as he plays with his piercing shaking his head. You feel partly embarrassed at your state and partly amused by Jungkook's protective nature.
You've always appreciated his concern for you, but it's moments like these that make you want to be seen as an actual 24 year old woman and not the 15 year old y/n that would hide behind his body when she saw her crush.
As the car pulls up to Jungkook's apartment building, you can't help but feel a sense of comfort settling over you. One of Jungkook's homes was a luxurious penthouse situated atop a high-rise, offering a breathtaking view of the bustling city of Seoul. The penthouse was exclusively designed and adorned with high end furnishings, creating a vibe of grandeur and wealth. The interior was spacious and adorned with designer decor, glistening marble floors and elegant chandeliers.
It was a true architecture dream and design, reflecting the success and wealth of its owner, Jeon Jungkook.
As you step out of the car and follow him into his apartment, you can't help but feel a sense of nervousness within you.
"Soo..." you mutter, taking off your shoes and placing your bag somewhere on his kitchen counter.
"So?" Jungkook raises a brow, taking off his shoes as well and greeting his dog with a slight pat on the head; poor Bam was probably tired.
Jungkook poured a glass of water for you and himself as he asked, "You remember where the guest room is, right?" You nod in response. "Take tomorrow off, you'll be hungover," he says with a chuckle.
"What? No! Jungkook, you don't need to be biased just because we're friends." You scoff at his suggestion.
You pause for a moment, closing your eyes you appreciate his concern for your well-being, but then again, you could take care of yourself. You continue the conversation, "But, I do appreciate your concern. Maybe I'll take it easy tonight." You both sip on your water, enjoying the calming effect it has on your throats.
Suddenly, the sound of the clock ticking becomes more noticeable and you realize how late it is. "Oh, it's already past midnight. I should really get to bed," you say as you straightened your dress and placed the glass in his sink. Jungkook just nods "don't forget to take your makeup off"
Later that night
Namjoon looked extra cute tonight. He had styled his hair in a new and interesting way and had even worn a custom Valentino suit that was perfectly tailored to his body. You couldn't help but notice how his outfit accentuated his broad shoulders and muscular arms.
However, you were a bit disappointed that you didn't get a chance to talk to him. He seemed to be surrounded by his older friends, who were all busy celebrating and drinking. You did try to catch Namjoon's eye a few times, hoping to get a chance to say hello, but he was too engrossed in his conversation to notice you. So as the night went on, you watched him from afar, admiring the way he moved and the way his dimples appeared when he laughed.
You wished that you could be a part of his world, even just for a moment.
"I should get over it already." As you stand in front of the big bathroom mirror, you mumble to yourself, It's been a long day anyway, and you're looking forward to getting some rest before work tomorrow.
You take off your makeup and slip out of your dress, feeling the cool air on your skin. Glancing at yourself in the mirror, taking in your reflection. You notice the lines around your eyes and the way your hair falls across your forehead. You wonder if anyone else will ever pay attention to you enough to notice these details or if they only see the surface of you; Jeon Jungkooks secretary.
You feel vulnerable in only your underwear. It's like all the layers of protection have been stripped away and you're left with only yourself. You take a deep breath and try to push away the negative thoughts, any insecurities at that.
Tomorrow is a new day, and you'll face it with a fresh perspective. Maybe you'll bring Namjoon a coffee too.
Jungkook lies in his bed, feeling the weight of exhaustion pulling at his eyelids. This night was supposed to be one of relaxation, a chance to unwind and forget about the stresses of the day. However, it seems that not everyone shared his thought for a peaceful evening. Instead, he was forced to deal with a barrage of work-related conversations, leaving him feeling drained and unmotivated.
As he glances at the clock, his frustration only grows. It's already 1am, and he knows that he'll have to be up early tomorrow, just like you. The pressure of balancing work and personal life is all too real, and sometimes, it can feel overwhelming, even for him.
-
Jungkooks had had enough.
This morning was just as draining as any, and to make matters worse, the interns seemed to be making mistakes left and right. "What do you mean you cancelled the meeting?" Jungkook's voice echoed through the once-quiet halls of the office, now filled with the tension of his frustration. "S-sir, I-" the intern stammered, but Jungkook cut him off. "No excuses. We need to stay organized and on top of everything, especially during these busy times." He took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down.
Jungkook's frustration was palpable as he glared at the intern in front of him. "Do you even realize how much money I just lost because of your mistake?" he seethed, his voice low and dangerous. The intern visibly trembled, unsure of how to react to the COO's anger.
Jungkook took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down before asking, "Who hired you? Was it Mrs. L/n?"
As the intern nodded hesitantly, Jungkook couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment.
You were obviously a trusted member of his team, and he had entrusted you with the task of finding suitable candidates for the internship program last year. Jungkook had assumed that you had thoroughly vetted each applicant and chosen only the best.
He knew that mistakes happened, but he also knew that as the COO, he had to hold his team accountable for their actions.
Jungkook let out a deep sigh, his expression a mix of disappointment and frustration as he shook his head. "You're fired" he said firmly to the intern standing before him.
The young boy opened his mouth as if to say something but thought better of it and instead bowed respectfully before turning to leave. Before he could make his exit, however, Jungkook called out to him again. "And please, tell Mrs. L/n that I need to see her in my office," he added, his gaze unwavering as he locked eyes with the intern. "Right now."
-
"You fired him? He was the best one we had!” You argue, crossing your arms and stomping your feet in frustration. “Well, he messed up big time, and we can't have incompetent people working here,” Jungkook argues back, sipping on his coffee as he gives you a stern look.
After a moment of silence, Jungkook continues. "Anyway, the reason I wanted to talk to you wasn't that. I can handle firing people myself."
Jungkook sits up now, finger brushing over his lip "Theres a new case we're working on. I think there's a lot of potential for growth, but we need to make sure we have the right team in place. I'd like to hear your thoughts on who we should bring on board and how we can win this case without any problems."
You take a deep breath, letting go of your frustration about the fired employee.
“What case is it? Mr. Lee's?” You ask as you sit down in front of his desk when he motions for you to do so.
“No, it’s a new one. It’s not as big as the previous one, but it's very tricky. You and Namjoon will be working on it, with me overlooking everything you do. This will be your first big case, Y/n,” he addresses you by your first name for the first time that morning. “I need you to do good."
Turns out the case in question is a complex one that involves a lot of investigative work. You will have to sift through mountains of evidence, interview witnesses, and piece together a compelling case for your client. This is your chance to prove your worth and show that you have what it takes to succeed in the competitive world of law, and most importantly be more than just Jeon Jungkooks Secretary—his hot Secretary.
"Of course," you nod, smiling at Jungkook. You gather your belongings and stand up to leave, eager to start with the case.
As you make your way out of the office, you can't help but think about the opportunity this case presents to work closely with Namjoon.
“What's got you smiling like that?” Jimin asks as he sits down beside you at lunchtime. Taking a deep breath, feeling a bit giddy as you reply, “Just nothing.” But Jimin is persistent. “Spit it out,” he bugs you, and you can't resist his playful teasing.
“Fine,” you smile, your excitement growing. “Guess who will be working with the brilliant and talented Kim Namjoon on the new case?” You pause for dramatic effect, savoring Jimin's inquisitive gaze.
"Me!" You continue, “I was just told this morning that I'll be joining the team working on the high-profile case involving the disappearance of famous actress Min Doyeon. The case has been all over the news and everyone's talking about it. It's a huge opportunity for me to work with Kim Namjoon.”
Jimin nods, impressed. “Wow, that's... amazing news, Congratulations, you deserve it.” he chuckles. "Look at you, finally getting laid"
As you take a bite of your salad, you suddenly hear Jimin's words and your eyes widen in shock. You quickly cover his mouth, hoping that nobody heard him. "Are you crazy?" you whisper, "Don't say that out loud! You know how nosy some of the people in this office can be. The last thing I need is for Namjoon to find out about it!"
You look around the room, feeling paranoid. You remember the last time some gossip spread around the office, and how it ended up with 3 people quitting. It was a nightmare, and you don't want to go through that again. You take a deep breath and try to calm down, thinking of a way to prevent any further leaks.
"Let's talk about this later, in private," you say to Jimin, "I have a few ideas on how i can win Namjoon over." You take another bite of your salad, trying to act casual, "remember that skirt i bought? Will definetly be wearing that" you smirk.
-
"Ms. L/n" As soon as you entered the office, Namjoon flashed you a warm smile. He couldn't help but notice how cute you looked in your tight-fitted outfit.
"Mr. Kim" You greeted him politely and walked over to his desk, placing the papers you had prepared for the case. "These are some of the drafts I have for the case. I tried to cover all the angles, but if you need anything more, just let me know," you said with a smile and a nervous bite of your lip.
Namjoon noticed your dedication and attention to detail, picking up the papers and began to review them carefully, making sure to give each page the due consideration it deserved.
Meanwhile, you made yourself comfortable on the chair in front of his desk, crossing your legs and playing with the hem of your blouse.
As he read through the drafts, he noticed that there were a few areas where he felt more information could be added. He jotted down a couple of notes and looked up at you. "This is great work, Mrs. L/n," he said. "I think we're on the right track. But I do have a few suggestions for some additional content that could help... strengthen our case. Would you mind taking a look at them and incorporating them into your drafts?"
You nodded eagerly, walking over to him with quick steps as you leaned over his shoulder. As you listened to Namjoons suggestions, you couldn't help but feel a blush creeping up your cheeks. This was work, but your mind was somewhere else.
“You look awfully happy,” Jungkook noticed as he opened his car door for you.
The two of you had worked late today, and he had kindly offered to drive you home. You had been having to rely on public transportation to get around, so his gesture was greatly appreciated.
“Well, you could say I had an accomplishing day at work with Mr. Kim,” you replied, smiling and biting your lip.
As you settle into the passenger seat, Jungkook raises a brow, and you can tell he is curious. “Why's that? Is the case coming along?” he asks, and you nod, explaining that the investigation is making progress. You notice a small smile on his lips as he listens to you speak.
“And the other reason?” he prods, clearly interested in the other motive behind your happiness. You can't help but giggle as you recall day with Namjoon. “I got to know Namjoon a bit better,” you confess, feeling your cheeks flush. “He's so cute, isn't he?” You close your eyes, savoring the memory of your conversation with him, and feel a sense of excitement as you think about seeing him again tomorrow.
As Jungkook pokes his cheek, you can't help but notice the concern on his face. "He's also like 7 years older than you Y/n," he says, his grip on the steering wheel tightening as he keeps his gaze fixed on the road ahead.
You let out a playful groan as you respond to his statement, "Boo-hoo, Oh come on, don't be such a party pooper. What's wrong with a little age difference?" There's a hint of mischief in your voice as you tease him.
You can't help but appreciate his protective nature, even if it does mean he's a little overbearing at times.
"I'm not, but he could be your dad Y/n," he said. You couldn't help but roll your eyes and hit him on the chest, saying "Kook, that's an exaggeration." But the comment lingered in your mind.
“You're friends with him right?” You hesitate a moment before asking. Sensing your hesitation, Jungkook nods reassuringly “yeah, not close, but we work together a lot” Jungkook answers.
You ponder for a moment and decide to give it a shot. You just shrug “you couldn't… you know… help me out a little? Maybe put in a good word for me or something?” You give him puppy eyes.
A small silence ensues and you start to worry that you are asking too much. But Jungkook sighs and says, “I'll see what I can do. But you should be careful, men like him are not the kind to commit to relationships”
And that's how it all began.
You had an undeniable crush on Namjoon, the kind of attraction that made your heart skip a beat every time he walked into a room. You dreamed about going on a date with him, about what it would be like to hold his hand and look into his eyes.
Jungkook could help you out. He was always good at reading people, at knowing what they wanted and how to make it happen. Maybe he could play matchmaker and set you up with Namjoon. It was a long shot, but it was worth a try.
After all, Namjoon was a great guy and deserved to find love just as much as you. So you and Jungkook—aka just you— brainstormed ideas.
You knew that it wouldn't be easy, that there were no guarantees, but you were determined to try. After all, what did you have to lose? Maybe your dignity, but that was a problem future y/n would have to handle.
-
As you walk into the office the next day, Jimin greets you with a compliment. "You look good," he says with a smile.
"Thank you" you say offering him a cup of coffee, which he accepts graciously. As he takes a sip, he notices a change in your demeanor. "Wow, what's gotten into you? You seem so...happy," he observes. It's true - you are feeling particularly optimistic and upbeat today. "I'm always happy," you argue, but you know that there's something different about today. Perhaps it's because you finally got a good night's sleep, or because you're excited about seeing Namjoon today.
"No, no," Jimin argues, "you can't just leave me hanging like that. Spill the tea!"
You grin mischievously, leaning in close so no one can overhear. "Well, I've asked for Jungkook's help to win over Namjoon," you whisper conspiratorially. Jimin's eyes widen in surprise before he breaks into a grin. "Oh, I see what you're doing. You're gonna have a boyfriend soon, huh?" he teases, nudging your arm playfully.
You laugh and nod, feeling a wave of excitement at the possibility. "Yeah, I hope so. It's been a while since I've been in a relationship, and I think Namjoon might be the one."
“Careful there he comes!” Jimin warns before getting back to work. You quickly turn to see Namjoon approaching with a smile. You return it, feeling a flutter in your stomach.
He stops next to you and addresses you.
“Ms. L/n, mind accompanying me for breakfast today to talk over the case?” he asks, his voice calm and collected. And deep, very deep.
You nod eagerly, unable to contain your excitement. The opportunity to eat breakfast with Namjoon, the hottest partner at the firm, is a dream come true.
You gather your things and follow Namjoon out of the building.
“… all in all I think you're doing an amazing job at assisting me with this case, miss L/n” Namjoon smiles, his dimples showing. You feel a warmth in your heart and can't help but grin. It's always nice to receive compliments, especially from someone you like.
“Oh please just call me Y/n” you giggle, feeling more comfortable around Namjoon. You have been working together for a few days now and it's great to see that your teamwork is paying off.
“And yeah of course, that's what I'm here for” you smile, taking a bite of your food.
“Soo.. you're friends with Jeon, right? How come?” Namjoon initiates small tall and you grin. “Well our parents are friends, and you know how he rest of the story goes” you shrug, tabbing your phone to look at the time.
“Do you take this bus often? I'm still getting used to the schedule.” You panic, not wanting tk be late for work.
“Don't be silly, let's take my car, I'm heading back too,” Namjoon offers with a warm smile. You feel relieved by his offer and thank him for his kindness.
As you both walk towards the parking lot, you can't help but notice the beautiful weather and cherry blossom trees. The sun is shining bright and the city is alive. Namjoon opens the door for you and you get into the car.
You both enjoy the music and the silence that follows. The car ride is smooth and Namjoon drives safely. You admire the view outside the window and the city buildings that stand in the distance.
You arrive at the office building, slightly behind schedule, but you feel a sense of satisfaction deep within you.
"You're late," Jimin says playfully, his lips curling up in a smirk. "Was it worth it?" he asks before you can even explain. You feel yourself unwind as you respond, "Yes, it was worth every second." You then walk towards Jungkook's office.
As soon as you walk in, Jungkook shoots you a questioning look. "Reason you're late, L/n" he asks without even looking up from his work. You take a deep breath and explain, "I was having breakfast with Mr. Kim to discuss the case. He wanted to go over some important details and I didn't want to miss anything."
Jungkook grunts in response and goes back to typing on his computer. You can't help but feel a little annoyed. You had woken up extra early to make sure you wouldn't be late, but here Jungkook was, acting like you had no regard for your job.
"Actually," you add, "Mr. Kim had some really interesting insights about the case. He thinks we should focus more on the timeline of events leading up to the incident." Jungkook finally looks up at you, intrigued—that damn tongue of his poking his cheek "Go on," he says.
You smile, happy to have gained his attention. "Well, he explained that if we can establish a clear timeline, we might be able to narrow down our list of suspects. We could also look for any inconsistencies in the timeline that could help us identify the..." you struggle to find the word.
"Culprit?" Jungkook asks, you nod.
Jungkook nods thoughtfully. "That's a good idea," he says. "Thanks for letting me know."
“Of course”, you breathe out, relieved.
"Youre doing a good job Y/n"
You have been working hard on this and the fact that Jungkook, your boss, is pleased with your work means a lot to you. You can tell that he is taking your contributions seriously, as he addressed you informally, indicating that hes for real.
“You're dismissed,” he says, and you quickly gather your things, ready to leave. But before you can walk out the door, he stops you. “I left some documents I need you to look over for me on your desk,” he says, his tone serious. “Please make sure to hand those to me by tonight.” You just nod.

You sat comfortably on Jungkook's couch, sipping on your wine as you looked at him with a smile. "So technically if I were to date Joon," you began, "we would be the cutest couple, period."
The two of you were spending your free Saturday night at his place, which was a rare occurrence. But, for some reason, he had invited you over, and you were glad for the company. You and Jungkook had been friends for a while, and you always enjoyed spending time with him. But since the two of you started working, free time was almost non-existent.
The room was quiet for a few moments before Jungkook spoke up. "You know, its weird to hear you call him that? Are you guys past the getting to know each other phase?"
You notice Jungkook's sour expression as he takes a sip of his whiskey, his legs spread wide apart and his eyes avoiding yours.
You take a deep breath before speaking up again. "So, Joon and I went out for dinner the other day because of the case, but it felt like more than that, i dont know..?" you ask, giggling slightly as you realize that you're a little tipsy.
You recall the way he looked at you, the way he laughed at your jokes, and the way he brushed his hand against yours. It was all so new and exciting, yet at the same time, you couldn't help but wonder if there was more to it than just a dinner between coworkers.
“For the love of God, will you stop calling him Joon? He's not your boyfriend y/n you're being delusional,” he snarls out, the nice mood shifting into something else.
You take a deep breath and try to remain calm. You understand that he's just trying to protect you, but sometimes he takes it too far. You look at him and say, "excuse me? but I'm capable of making my own decisions about who I call by their name. And for the record, I know that he's not my boyfriend."
Jungkook's expression softens as he realizes how his words must have hurt you. "I'm sorry, y/n. I just don't want to see you get hurt," he says, reaching out to touch your arm.
You pull away slightly, still feeling hurt. "But I'm not a child. I can handle myself."
Jungkook nods, understanding. "I know you can. I just- i dont know."
"I know you do. But that was not nice. I'm not going to do anything stupid." You argue, slightly shifting in your seat.
“I think I'm gonna leave now,” you whisper, standing up. As you look down at Jungkook, you can see the sadness in his eyes.
“Jungkook, I know you're sorry. But this isn't just about you. It's about me and my relationships.” You pause and give him a small smile, hoping to soften the blow. “I need space right now... Maybe we can talk later.” With that, you turn and leave, the weight of the conversation heavy on your shoulders.
“Ba- y/n” Jungkook stops you “Hey I'm sorry, that was stupid of me” Jungkook apologizes again. He takes a deep breath and continues, “I just want you to know that I care about you, and I want you to be happy okay?” He places his hand on your shoulder and gives it a gentle rub. You feel the warmth of his touch, and it brings a sense of comfort to you.
Jungkook pauses for a moment, thinking about the right words to say. Finally, he speaks up, “I want to see you happy and fulfilled. Whatever it takes, I'll be there for you. Whether it's through the tough times or the good times, I'll be your support system, your rock, your friend.”
You feel a tear roll down your cheek—you get so emotional when youre drunk, touched by his sincerity and kindness.
“Thank you, Jungkook,” you whisper, “I appreciate it. You're a true friend.” With those words, Jungkook feels a tear form in his eyes. He didn't just want to be your friend.
“It's late now anyway, we have to work tomorrow”, you say, stifling a yawn as you glance at the clock. Jungkook nods in agreement, a small smile on his lips. “Let's head to bed”, he says as he gets up from the couch. "You can sleep here"
-
“So joon, I heard you're all about y/n, lately? Is that true?” Hoseok speaks up from the table.
Despite having just won a case after 2 months of back and forth, the conversation had turned towards more private talk.
All of them sat comfortably in a high end restaurant, having rented the whole floor for privacy. The restaurant's lavish decor boasted of intricately designed chandeliers that cast a warm glow on the room.
“It's true,” Namjoon laughed, taking a sip of his wine. “She's cute isn't she?” He then winked, a mischievous glint in his eye. Jungkook groaned, annoyed by the sudden talk about you, but he couldn't help but feel a little curious about the relationship between Namjoon and you. Did something happen already between you two?
He had never seen his friend so smitten before. Meanwhile, Jin chimed in, asking Namjoon about how long he had been interested in you, and if he had any plans to make a move.
Jungkook sat back in his chair, considering your request to help you out with Namjoon.
He wanted to help you, but it felt so wrong.
Jungkook took a deep breath and leaned forward. "You know, I think you should make a move," he said finally, a small forced smile playing at the corners of his lips. "I've known her for a while now, she's a real keeper. She's smart, funny, and just a joy to be around."
He paused for a moment, thinking. "Of course you don't want to come on too strong and scare her off."
Jungkook leaned back in his chair, looking thoughtful. "just spend more time with her. Invite her to hang out with you and plan a date that the two of you could go on together"
Namjoon nods in agreement, and the rest of the men sitting at the table follow. "That's a great idea," he says with a mischievous grin. "I'll definitely give it a try."
As they continue their conversation, Jungkook can't help but feel odd, was this really a good idea? You and Namjoon?
"Thanks for giving me the go man," Namjoon spoke as he entered the bathroom after Jungkook.
Jungkook only nods in response "I'm glad I could help," he replies. "I know how much you means to her, and I want to see her happy."
Namjoon chuckles softly. "Yeah, she's amazing," he says, leaning against the sink. "We've been coworkers for so long, but I feel like there's something more there, you know?"
Jungkook nods internally rolling his eyes. "I get it. Sometimes it takes a while to realize your feelings for someone."
-
You walk into the building with a huge smile on your face, after Jungkook had told you that hed talked to Namjoon, you felt as if there could actually happen something between you two.
Greeting Jimin cheerfully. "Good morning, Jimin!" Handing him his coffee with a smile, you make your way to your office, feeling a sense of excitement in the air. Today is the last day of the case, and you can't help but feel a little sad that your time working with Namjoon is coming to an end.
From legal research and writing to trial preparation and client communication, you're grateful for the opportunity to work with Kim Namjoon.
As you settle into your office, you take a deep breath and allow yourself a well-deserved moment of reflection. The past two weeks have been a whirlwind of activity, with long hours and hard work, but also with a growing sense of closeness with Joon.
You look down at the papers spread out before you, the culmination of all your hard work and preparation leading up to the trial. Each page is filled with crucial details, evidence, and arguments that Namjoon will need to present with clarity and precision.
You are about to stand up and make your way to Namjoon's office to discuss strategy when he suddenly appears at the door, striding in with his characteristic energy and enthusiasm.
“Oh!” you exclaim, feeling the warmth of your cheeks as you watch Namjoon. “I was just about to come see you, Mr. Kim.” You giggle, feeling your nerves dissipate as you approach him with the papers in hand.
“Is that so?” Namjoon replies, his eyes glinting as he locks the door behind him. You feel a flutter in your stomach as he smirks at you, his gaze lingering a moment longer than necessary.
“Yes! I have all the finishing drafts right here,” you say, trying to focus on the task at hand. “The trial should be a piece of cake.” You hand him the papers, trying to ignore the way his hand brushes against yours as he takes them. “Thank you,” he says, his eyes flicking up to meet yours briefly. “I'll take a look...”
You nod, feeling a mix of excitement and... anticipation?
“Um, well that's it, I should go check on Mr. Jeon, in case he needs me for anything-” you said, feeling a bit flustered as you tried to leave. But Namjoon stopped you with a hand on your hip, his eyes gleaming with mischief. “Why the hurry?” he asked, his smirk growing as he caged you against the wall, his leg positioned between yours. You felt your heart race as he leaned in closer, his breath hot against your skin.
Suddenly, you found it hard to remember what you were going to say next. Your thoughts were muddled as Namjoon's intense gaze locked onto yours. “Mr. Kim-” you started to say, but he cut you off with a low chuckle. “Namjoon,” he said, his voice low and husky. “You can call me Namjoon.”
As you looked up at him, you couldn't help but feel a jolt of electricity shoot through you. This man was dangerous, but you couldn't deny the attraction you felt towards him.
You wondered what it would be like to kiss him, to feel his lips on yours. But before you could even consider it, he was already doing just that.
As Nmajoon pulls away, you notice his eyes trailing down your body. "You're a beautiful woman, y/n," he says, "I've always admired you from afar." he winks at you, and his hand squeezes your hip. "I was glad when Jeon put us two together for the case," he continues with a grin. "Don't you feel the same?"
You stare at him for a moment, unsure of how to respond. You can feel your heart racing as you try to come up with something to say. Finally, you manage to nod your head and say, "Yeah," biting your lip nervously.
His hand found your lip and he played with it, tracing the outline of your mouth with his finger. “It's such a shame that you're just Jeon's assistant,” Namjoon said, looking deep into your eyes. “You have so much more to offer.” You smiled, enjoying the feeling of his touch. “I'm happy with my position as his secretary,” you replied, leaning into him.
“Namjoon, maybe we shouldn't do this here. We're at work,” you said, biting your lip nervously.
“No one will find out. You just have to be quiet,” he whispered, his breath hot on your neck. As the two of you continued to flirt, you couldn't help but wonder if this was a mistake. Would you regret it later?
-
“Oh, oh!” You moan as Namjoon thrusts into you, his gaze fixed on where your bodies meet.
You feel a rush of pleasure as you realize how deeply he's penetrating you. He leans forward, kissing your neck as he continues to move inside you—You can feel his muscles tensing as he picks up speed, his fingers digging into your skin.
You arch your back, meeting his thrusts with your own. It's been so long since you've felt this good, and you can't help but gasp with pleasure. Namjoon grins down at you, clearly enjoying the effect he's having on you. "You're amazing," he murmurs, and you feel a surge of pride. You're not a virgin, but you haven't been with anyone who's made you feel this good in a long time.
Namjoon smirks with a mischievous glint in his eyes, his hands playing with your nipples. "You know," he says, "one day we'll have all the time we need and I'll fuck all of your holes until you scream my name." His words send shivers down your spine, but you can't help feeling excited at the thought of being completely consumed by him. "But for now," he continues, "we have to be careful. We don't want anyone finding out about us." With that, he leans down to kiss you deeply, his tongue exploring every inch of your mouth as if he's trying to memorize every taste and sensation. You feel your body responding to his touch, your desire growing with every passing second.
As Namjoon finishes, you can't help but feel a little disappointed that the moment had to end so soon. But as he extends his hand to help you up, you feel reassured by the warmth in his touch.
You follow him out of the office soon after, trying to keep your head down and avoid drawing attention to yourself. You're not entirely sure what would happen if anyone found out about the two of you, but you know it wouldn't be good.
As you walk through the halls, you can't help but feel a little nervous. What if they knew what just happened behind those closed doors?
-
"You what?" Jimin almost yelled out. His eyes widened in shock. "In your office? Damn y/n, I didn't know you were freaky like that," he chuckled, shaking his head.
You felt a little embarrassed, but you explained that it wasn't like that. "I'm not "freaky"," you argued. "But I don't know, it just happened." You shrugged, trying to deflect from the topic. You didn't want to give too many details about what had happened, but you knew that Jimin wouldn't let it go easily.
"It felt right," you said, trying to justify your actions. "I don't regret it, but I don't want to make things awkward in the office either."
Jimin nodded, understanding your concerns. "It's just human nature," he said with a smile. "Sometimes things happen—sex is hot— and we can't stop it from happening at weird situations. Just be careful, y/n. You don't want to get into trouble at work." He winks "I don't think Mr. Jeon would appreciate knowing that his secretary is a slut" he laughs.
You chuckled and playfully hit his chest, "I'm not a slut." Your expression softened and your eyes almost formed a heart shape as you admitted, "I just have a crush on Kim Namjoon."
Jimin's eyebrows raised as he spoke after swallowing his food, "Speaking of Mr. Kim, he's right there." He nodded towards the direction of where Kim Namjoon was. You couldn't help but let out a contented sigh and flash a grin, "Yeah, he is.”
“Well? What are you waiting for? Go talk to him” he hurries you. Your heart flutters as you feel the familiar warmth of a blush creeping up your neck. You hesitate for a moment, taking in the scene around you. You glance over at Jimin, who is giving you an encouraging grin and a playful nudge towards the guy.
You take a deep breath and start walking towards him, trying to gather your courage. Your mind is racing with thoughts of what to say, how to act, and whether you look good enough.
Fixing your hair, you follow Namjoon to the elevator. As you reach him, you are surprised to see Mr. Jung from the research department standing next to Namjoon.
You keep quiet for a moment, hiding behind one of the plants in the corridor, not wanting to interrupt their conversation when you suddenly hear Namjoon's voice loud and clear. “She was tight, man, never knew Ms. L/n was such a whore, I mean, all it took was for me to say some sweet nothing and she was practically undressing”, both men laugh.
It's like the whole world stops for a second as you take in his words. Whore? You? A small tear formed in your eye as you back away, shaking your head. Finally turning to leave, trying to put as much distance between yourself and the hurtful words as possible, you hear Mr. Jung's voice behind you. "Don't you see the way some of the women here practically undress Mr. Jeon?" he says. "I wouldn't be surprised if Y/n was the same."
You can feel your anger rising as you hear those words. How dare he make such assumptions about you? You want to turn around and confront him, to tell him that he has no right to talk about you like that. But you know that it won't do any good. Instead, you keep walking, trying to push the hurt and anger aside and focus on moving forward.
As you make your way through the crowded hallway, you try to keep up a facade of composure, brushing past people with as much confidence as possible. However, as soon as you step into Mr. Jeon's office, all the walls you've built up come crashing down. You break down in front of him, crying your eyes out, feeling helpless and vulnerable.
He greets you with a gentle smile and a hug, his comforting embrace providing some much-needed solace in your moment of distress. As he strokes your hair, he asks "what's wrong", his voice soft and soothing.
Despite your reluctance to open up, you find yourself pouring out your heart, telling him about what happened with Kim Namjoon, the man who just broke your heart.
You feel frustrated and embarrassed for falling for someone as egoistic and horrible as him.
“You were right,” you cry out in relief, locking eyes with Jungkook. “I'm so sorry,” you apologize, burying your face back in his neck and relaxing in his touch. You couldn't believe how much you had bottled up these emotions. "I shouldve known."
“I knew he was a dick, but I didn't think,” Jungkook shakes his head as he pulls you closer. “I didn't think he'd ever treat you of all people like that.” You feel a sense of comfort from his words, knowing that he's there for you. You think back to the moment you first met Jungkook and how he made a promise to always protect you. He didn't lie.
You feel a sense of gratitude for Jungkook, knowing that he's gonna be there for you. You look up at him and smile, feeling a sense of peace in your heart. "You're the best"
-
The next few days seem to pass by in a blur and while Jungkook is clearly upset about Namjoon's actions, he knows that firing him would also mean that you would have to be let go as well.
Jungkook can feel the weight of responsibility on his shoulders as he contemplates the best course of action.
As he leans back in his seat, he can't help but let out a frustrated curse. Thoughts race through his mind as he tries to come up with a solution that would be fair to everyone involved.
“Good afternoon, Mr. Kim. Thank you for coming to my office today,” Jeon greets him with scowl.
Namjoon takes a seat in front of Jungkooks desk, noticing that the atmosphere seems tense.
After a moment, Jungkook clears his throat and begins, “As you know, I've been closely monitoring the performance of each team member, and I must say, I'm a little concerned about your productivity. Your recent work has been inconsistent, and I'm afraid it's affecting the team's overall morale and progress.”
Namjoon listens attentively, feeling a knot form in his stomach. "I understand, sir," he responds, trying to sound confident. "I've been trying my best to meet the deadlines, but I admit there have been some setbacks-."
"Setbacks? Youve placed all the work you had to do onto Y/ns- Ms. L/ns back. Youre perfectly capable of handling a case Namjoon, youve done so a million times."
Namjoon nods, closing his eyes in frustration.
"Ms. L/n is my secretary and is one of the most important employees I have. She has been with me for several months now and has an intimate understanding of how I work. I decided to assign her to work with you on this case so that she could share her expertise with you and help you manage your workload, which I know has been quite heavy lately." Jungkook pokes his cheek in anger. "She is a valuable member of my team and I trust her completely."
Jungkook's expression grows more serious. "However, I have heard some troubling reports about your behavior towards Ms. L/n with another colleague, Mr. Jung. It has been brought to my attention that you have been bad-mouthing her behind her back. This kind of behavior is unacceptable in our workplace and will not be tolerated. I urge you to back your things immediately." Jungkook stands up from behind his desk. "You're fired"
-
As you sit on the counter of Jungkook's kitchen, sipping your beverage, your eyes widen "You fired him?" you ask incredulously, almost choking on your drink.
Jungkook simply shrugs, his hair messy and dressed in just boxer shorts and a plain white shirt on his day off with you. "I had to. He broke the rules," he explains.
You can't help but feel a bit nervous at Jungkook's words. After all, you are no stranger to having broken the rules yourself. You bite your lip.
Sensing your unease, Jungkook chuckles, giving you a reassuring wink. "Not that I know of," he says with a grin.
“How did the case turn out anyway? Did we win?” You ask, trying to divert the conversation from the heavy topic. Jungkook shakes his head, then takes a deep breath before answering. “Well, it was a tough fight, but in the end, justice was served and you won,” he says. You feel a sense of relief wash over you, glad that your hard work paid off.
Jungkook smiles at you, then continues, “You know, you were really the driving force behind this case. You gathered all the information and laid out the strategy, leaving Mr. Min with little to do but present it in court.” You feel a sense of pride in your work and in yourself. It's not often that you get acknowledged for your contributions, but when you do, it feels great.
“That's fantastic news! I'm absolutely thrilled,” you exclaim, clapping your hands together in excitement. With an instinctive urge to share it, you rise to your feet and wrap Jungkook in a warm embrace. He returns the hug, his arms enveloping you in a tight embrace, and whispers, “I'm so proud of you.”
As your excitement begins to subside, Jungkook breathes out "Maybe its time for me to start looking for a new secretary." immediately you feel a sense of disappointment and inquire, “Why is that?”
Jungkook, with a grin on his face, points directly at you and declares, “Because you, my lo- friend, are getting promoted to head of research”
"You think i can handle that?" As you lean away from his embrace and place your head on his shoulder, he looks into your eyes with sincerity and reassures you with his words. "I truly believe that you are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to, Y/n." And as you look back into his eyes, you realize how much he believes in you and how much his support means to you. With him by your side, anything seems possible, and you feel more confident in yourself and your abilities.
You suddenly notice that his eyes linger on yours for a little longer than usual, and it feels like there's a magnetic pull drawing you closer together.
You hesitate, your hand reaching for your bag as you take a few steps away. You glance back at him, his eyes searching yours for something you can't quite decipher. The air between you is thick with unspoken words, but you can feel the depth of his feelings in the way they're looking at you. Finally, you break away, mumbling something about the time and grabbing your bag. As you walk away, you can't help out wonder what could have been, what you might have missed out on by not staying just a little bit longer.
-
“Oh, man. What a complicated love triangle,” Jimin groans, leaning against the copy machine in the copy room.
“Triangle? I don't think Namjoon is even in the picture after the stunt he pulled,” you scoff, retrieving the last few papers.
“It's just so weird. I mean, sure, Jungkook and I used to be close when we were younger, but those feelings faded as we grew up. Now, after yesterday's events…” you trail off, biting your lip in thought.
You try to shake the feeling, but a part of you can't help but wonder if there's still something there. Maybe it's just nostalgia or a temporary lapse in judgment, but the thought lingers in the back of your mind. As you walk to the door, you can't help but wonder what the next few days hold for you two.
As you walked through the halls, you couldn't help but notice the eerie silence. The employees seemed to be whispering to each other, casting furtive glances in your direction. It was clear that they all knew what had happened. Namjoon had been fired the day before, and it was no secret that you were the reason for his dismissal. You could feel the weight of their disapproval bearing down on you as you passed by, and it made you feel uneasy. You couldn't help but wonder how long it would take for the tension to dissipate and for things to return to normal.
As soon as you reached Jungkook's office, you knocked twice before entering. You took a quick glance around, making sure that no one was looking before slipping in and hiding behind the door. Jungkook, who was already sitting at his desk, looked up and greeted you with a stern expression. "You're two minutes late," he spoke up, crossing his arms and waiting for you to hand him the documents.
You felt your heart race as you fumbled with the papers, trying to organize them as quickly as possible. "Sorry, I..." you tried to explain, but Jungkook interrupted you. "I have no time for excuses," he said bluntly. "Where are those papers now?"
You took a deep breath and handed him the documents, hoping that everything was in order. As he scanned through the pages, you couldn't help but feel nervous. The silence in the room was deafening, and you struggled to think of something to say to break the tension. Finally, Jungkook looked up at you and let out a small sigh. "Okay," he said, handing the papers back to you.
Okay? That's it? Okay??
"Just make sure that you're on time next time."
“I'll leave now then,” you whispered, bowing, turning to leave when his voice stopped you. “Y/n,” his voice low and hesitant. You turned back to face him, looking into his eyes as he spoke. “Yes?” you asked, curious as to what he was about to say. “About what happened yesterday,” he started, his words slow and measured. You nodded. “Forget about it,” he finished, his voice quiet and subdued.
You couldn't help but feel a sense of unease as you walked away from him. You had been hoping he would say something more, something that would give you a sense of closure. But instead, he had simply told you to forget about what had happened. You couldn't help but wonder what he was thinking, what he was feeling. Did he regret what had happened between you? Did he wish he could take it all back? Or was he simply trying to avoid any further awkwardness between you?
As you walked away, your mind was filled with questions and doubts. You couldn't help but feel that there was more to the situation than what he had let on. But for now, you would have to put those thoughts aside and try to move on.
-
Moving on for you meant Wine and ice cream with some kdrama playing in the background as you soaked in your bathtub. You would spend hours thinking about the past and what could have been. Sometimes, you would even imagine how things would be different if you had made a move on Jungkook all those years ago. You couldn't help but wonder if you were meant to be together.
As you sipped your wine and savored your ice cream, you couldn't shake the feeling that you needed to talk to him again. You felt like you were stuck in a rut, and that reconnecting with Jungkook would be the only way to move on from your past and start living in the present again. A present that involved you and him together.
As you sit in front of your laptop, engrossed in the drama playing on the screen, you whisper "kiss! kiss!" along with the characters. The storyline has you completely invested, so much so that you almost don't even notice the sound of the doorbell ringing. With bated breath, you wait for the kiss that will confirm the love story's happy ending. The tension in the scene is palpable, and you find yourself holding your breath, waiting for the moment when the characters will finally give in to their feelings. In the background, the music swells, adding to the emotion of the moment. Suddenly, the sound of the doorbell snaps you out of your reverie.
Wondering who could be at the door, you pause the show and make your way to answer it after putting on some clothes.
You open the door, a man stands before you, looking somewhat uncertain. He takes a glance at the name on the mailbox before addressing you. "Hello, miss L/n?" he inquires, his tone slightly tentative. You respond with a nod.
You notice a mailman holding a bunch of flowers. He waits patiently for you to come and take them. As you approach him, you can't help but feel a sense of curiosity and excitement. Who could have sent you these lovely flowers? Whatever the reason, you eagerly accept the flowers and thank the mailman before he walks away. Holding the bouquet in your hands, you take a moment to appreciate their beauty and fragrance. Your favourite. You can't wait to find out who sent them and what their message might be.
Opening the note that was included, you notice that it's Namjoons handwriting.
“What the-”
I want to start by saying that I'm truly sorry for my actions. I understand that I made a serious mistake in the way I treated you and other women in the past. It wasn't right, and I'm deeply sorry for any pain or hurt that I caused you. It took me some time to realize the gravity of my actions, but I now understand how hurtful and unacceptable they were.
I know that earning your forgiveness won't be easy and that these flowers won't change the past, but I want to show you that I am a changed man.
Please know that I am deeply sorry for any pain or suffering that I have caused you, and thank you for taking the time to read this and for considering my forgiveness.
- Joon
You drop the note onto the floor, feeling the cool air of the room against your skin as your legs fold underneath you. As you read the words on the paper, you feel a sense of relief wash over you. The note is a sign that Namjoon has changed, that he is not the same person he was before. People can change, and Namjoon has learned from his mistakes.
You close your eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath and exhaling slowly. You feel a sense of peace, knowing that you can forgive Namjoon for what he did. But you also know that you won't forget. The memory of what happened will always be with you, a reminder of the pain that you went through. You make a mental note to keep his number blocked, to ensure that you don't fall back into old patterns.
As you sit there on the floor, you think about how your life is—and has been full of ups and downs. There were moments of pain and sorrow, but there were also moments of joy and happiness.
You realize that some of the happiest moments have been shared with Jungkook. Memories of laughter and joy flood your mind, and you can't help but feel a sense of warmth and comfort. It's strange to think that after all these years, your feelings for Jungkook have remained unchanged. Despite your attempts to suppress these emotions, they still linger within you, and you find yourself longing for the connection you once had. Perhaps it's time to be honest with him and see where it leads. After all, life is too short to let love go unexplored.
One thing was clear, you couldn't forget about it; the almost kiss.
-
Jungkook returned to his old habit of drinking heavily again. The loud music emanating from his apartment is a clear indication of his state of mind. Fortunately for him, his closest neighbors are not within earshot.
"Fuck love," he mutters under his breath, frustration etched all over his face. He grabs another bottle of beer and chugs it down, his hand pressed against his head as if to alleviate a pounding headache. After a few moments of silence, he suddenly tosses the empty bottle to the ground with great force, almost shattering it. "Fuck this whole thing!" he screams, throwing his head back in despair. It's hard to tell who he's directing his angry tirade towards, but it's clear that he needs an outlet to express his pent-up emotions.
Usually when Jungkook felt like this, he would turn to boxing to release his emotions. However, today he was not in the right state of mind to encounter people, so he decided to stay home instead.
With a heavy heart, he groaned to himself, "Everything sucks." Looking at the time on his phone and saw that it was already 1 am. He knew he should be asleep, resting for work the next day, but he found himself unable to think about anything else but the fact that he had lost you. Memories of you flooded his mind as he tried to come to terms with the fact that you didnt reciprocate his feelings. He couldn't help but wonder where he went wrong and what he could have done differently. Why you didnt chose him over Namjoon.
The sad music playing in his apartment only made him feel more lonely and isolated. He decided to distract himself by turning on the TV, but even the noise from the screen and speakers couldn't fill the void he felt inside.
“Not now, bam,” he speaks softly to his furry four-legged friend who tries to cuddle him, laying down on his dad and licking his face. Jungkook sighs, closing his eyes as he waits, feeling the warmth of his dog's body next to him. He doesn't know for what he's waiting, but he knows that he doesn't want to be here, in this moment, yearning for love that doenst belong to him.
Memories of the times you spent together start to flood his mind, from the day he met you at 15 to the day he hired you as his secretary. As he reminisces, he realizes how much you have been there for him, through thick and thin.
With a smile on his face, he falls asleep, comforted by the presence of his dog by his side.
The never-ending sound of his phone ringing interrupts his attempt at getting some much-needed rest. Groaning, Jungkook fumbled around on the couch, trying to find his phone in the mess of blankets and beer bottles. Finally, he managed to grab it, his hand firm as he brought it to his ear.
"Hello?" he mumbled groggily, his voice rough and hoarse from all the drinking.
"Mr. Jeon, are you okay? It's already 10," a voice on the other end of the line asked, sounding worried. It was you.
Jungkook sighed, rubbing his temples as he struggled to understand anything. "Oh, hey. Yeah, I'm fine. Just... not feeling my best right now," he admitted sheepishly, feeling embarrassed about his drunken antics from the night before.
"You're sick?" you ask with concern, your heart racing as you grab your purse and rush out of the office building. "Don't worry, just stay there. I'll be at your place in a second," you say, hanging up the phone and running after a taxi.
Your mind races with worry as you think of Jungkook, who never gets sick. You remember the time he took care of you when you were bedridden with the flu, and you can't imagine him being in the same position.
As you ride in the taxi, you recall the remedies that helped you when you were sick, and you make a mental note to bring them to Jungkook's place. You also think of some soup recipes that might help him feel better.
"What do you mean? I'm not sick," Jungkook argued over the phone, his tone laced with frustration but you had already hung up, leaving him bewildered and alone with his thoughts.
He stared at his phone for a few moments before setting it down on his coffee table and walking over to the window. Outside, the sun was rising and the sky was a beautiful shade of pink and orange. Jungkook took a deep breath and leaned against the windowsill, wondering what he could do to make things right between the two of you. He knew he had been distant lately, but he didn't know how to explain it to you. As he watched the sun appear on the horizon, he made a promise to himself to make things right and be there for you, no matter what.
As you walked into Jungkook's apartment with your spare keys, you couldn't help but notice that he was only in his boxershorts. You quickly averted your eyes and tried to appear nonchalant. You were there to check up on him, to see if he was okay, not thirst over the way his body was oh so perfectly built-
"You look...fine?" you said, stopping a few feet in front of him. Although he seemed to be walking normally, you couldn't help but wonder if he was experiencing any discomfort.
"Why do you look okay, you sounded sick when we talked over the phone-" you started to say, but he interrupted you. "I'm hungover, nothing more," he said, heading to the kitchen for some much-needed water.
You felt a little relieved that he wasn't actually sick, but you couldn't help but worry about his drinking habits. Perhaps it was time for a serious conversation with Jungkook about his health and well-being.
“You shouldn't-” you start but Jungkook interrupts you. “I know, I know,” he says, shaking his head. “But sometimes, it's hard not to do something you know you shouldn't.” He takes a deep breath and sits back down, gulping down the glass of water. "Why do you care anyway"
You watch him for a moment before speaking. “Jungkook,” you say, “why would you think that I don't care about you?”
He scoffs. “A lot of things make me think that, y/n,” he responds. “Sometimes it feels like you're always assuming im fine, 'Jungkooks grown up he can deal with it' or 'youre a CEO you should know how to deal with that', like you don't trust me or believe in me. And when I mess up, it feels like you're just waiting to say 'just fix it'.”
You're taken aback by his words. It's true that you've been frustrated with Jungkook's behavior lately, but you never meant to make him feel like you didn't care about him. “Jungkook, I'm sorry if I've given you that impression,” you say. “I do care about you, and I want to support you. I said those things jokingly, i never thought youd actually think id mean that...”
Jungkook looks down at his hands, and you can see the sadness in his eyes. “I know, y/n,” he says softly. “I'm trying to-, I know you dont mean those things, but it's not easy sometimes at work-.” he leans back against his seat "to differentiate jokes with reality"
You reach out and take his hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze, touching him for the first time in days when you're used to hugging so much. "I'm sorry"
“I care about you,” you say.
“But you don't make it easy for me not to fall in love. I'm here for you, and I'll always be here for you.” You reassure, "but I don't want to get hurt again"
He looks up at you and gives you a small smile. “I'd never hurt you"
The two of you sit in silence for a few moments, the weight of your conversation hanging in the air. But somehow, it feels like a weight has been lifted as well. Maybe things won't be easy, but at least you're in it together.
"I know" you whisper
Jungkook played with his lip piercing for a second before finally locking eyes with you, his expression unreadable. You couldn't help but smile, edging closer until your noses were touching, your lips almost meeting. You could feel the heat emanating from his body as he leaned in, his eyes never leaving yours. "I've been thinking about this for a while," you whispered, "and I want to fall in love with you." You could feel his breath quickening against your lips. "Will you let me?"
There was a moment of silence as you waited for his response, and then... Jungkook kissed you, his lips moving against yours with such intensity that it felt like an electric shock. You could feel your heart racing as he pulled away, a small smile playing at his lips. "I want you to fall," he whispered, nudging your nose with his.
"I'll catch you every time."

"shit" kiara bend down and grabbed the book that just came flying out of the window
"oh they aren't done yet" said pope, outstretching his hand and catching another flying book.
"should we.. say something?" sarah looked at her friends questingly
"hell nah" john b shook his head
"this is just normal behaviour for them" kie let herself fall down in the lounge chair
"normal?" asked sarah, before she screeched in shock, diving out of the way before the shoe could hit her
"yeah" shrugged pope "we're used to this by now"
"aren't you like scared that you sister will get hurt?" sarah turned her head to john b, who just shrugged
"she's the one throwing things"
"o-kay" sarah sat down beneath the window in the hope to not get hit with anything "i'm sorry that i'm just grasping that now, but aren't they like in a happy relationship? why don't they just break up if they don't get along?"
"they never break up" said kiara "they don't fight often, but when they do, it's over"
"believe me, you don't want to be near them when it happens" john b exchanged a look with pope "one time pope accidently walked in on them fighting and y/n screamed at him"
"she's worse than my mother" said pope and he looked like he was having war flashbacks
"he cried" concluded kiara
"oh wow" sarah nodded, slowly understanding what was going on
the group stopped talking as the door got opened and jj and y/n stepped outside.
"hey guys!" kiara smiled innocently and sarah quickly noticed that it was best to act as if they didn't hear what had been going on "how are you both?"
"oh just fine" you said, smiling at your friends "jj and i broke up"
"you did what?" john b leaned forward and kiara mirrored his shocked facial expression
"so.. this is not normal, yeah?" whispered sarah, leaning over to pope
"eh, this never happened before" replied pope while not taking his eyes off of the broken up couple, watching them like a hawk
"we decided that it would be best if we ended things" jj said shrugging "it's as simple as that"
"simple?" asked kiara and she looked like her eye was twitching
"yes..?" you asked, not quiet grasping why everyone was so upset about your break up
"you've been dating for the past four years" john b flailed his arms dramatically "you can't just break up!"
"of course we can" you argued "because we just did"
jj looked at the time on his phone, before he held it up in your direction. "it's half past two"
"alright" you stood up and followed jj off the patio
"wait, where are you going?" kiara looked between you both and the rest of your friends
"i'll take her to work and then help my cousin in the workshop"
no one said a word at that and you guys left.
pope looked between his friends, shock still evident on his face. "so this is the new normal?" he whispered
"relax, they can't hear you" sarah laughed and all eyes went to her. none of the other found anything remotely funny in that moment
"i jinxed it" murmured kiara "i told sarah that they never break up and look where it's gotten us"
"why do you freak out about this?" asked sarah confused "i mean, of course it's sad, but if they say it's for the better?"
"uncharted territory, baby" john b declared dramatically
"yeah" kiara nodded "they are happy for a long time, then they have a big fight, they make up, which is disgusting, but works and then.. rinse and repeat"
"you got used to them dating so we can just get used to them.. not dating, right?" sarah questioned
"it's not this easy" kiara shook her head
"yeah, they've been together since puberty started and i think that had a big impact on who they are now" john b explained
"that's ridiculous" sarah laughed "she's your sister, you know her better than anyone"
"i knew her when she was dating jj and before that when she was pining after jj" john b gasped "i don't think i know her without him in the picture"
"john b" sarah sighed. she couldn't really believe what was going on right now. the pogues had always been pretty chill and normal, well obviously not when it came to the dating life of their friends
"he's right" pope said, interrupting sarah's train of thought. "you know jj and y/n, sarah. they are pretty unpredictable, but while they were together they would calm each other down"
"now they are like two wandering fire hazards" kiara exclaimed
"okay" sarah sighed "when you're so worried" she thought for a second "why don't we split up and watch them until they are done with the break up and hopefully not co-dependent anymore"
"pope?" john b turned to the boy
"it could work" pope nodded "as long as we keep possible outbreaks to a down low and maybe keep them away from each other, no one will get hurt"
"you're talking as if they would actually errupt like a volcano"
"we aren't joking, sarah" kie looked to the boys "the week before they started dating, the chateau nearly burned down"
sarah just nodded silently, not quiet believing what she was hearing, she would change her mind pretty quickly
sarah and kie drove to the ice cream shop you were working at, while pope and john b watched visited jj at his cousin's workshop
"ladies" you smiled as you noticed kie and sarah sitting at a table you served.
"hey girl" kie smiled brightly and sarah send her a confused look, until kie slapped her arm
sarah made a surprised sound, before she quickly said the first thing she could think of "howdy"
you send her a puzzled look, before you left the menu "i'll be back in a few minutes to take your orders" then you left the table still watching them suspiciously
"howdy?" kie asked horrified
"it's the first thing that came to mind"
"this is gonna be a long day" kie murmured "hopefully the boys are better at this than we are"
pope and john b had managed to be even worse
"so..uh single huh?" pope outstretched his arm to lean against the car jj was working on, but underestimated the distance and nearly knocked the mirror off
"relax, okay?" john b whispered
jj got up from under the car "i guess, yeah"
"so how about a tinder account?" before jj could answer pope's question john b had elbowed him in the stomach. pope bend over
"okay, what going on with you? you are acting stranger than usual" jj looked from one to the other
"we're.. adjusting" john b explained
"yeah, you and y/n have been together for forever"
"hhm" jj nodded "we dated a pretty long time"
"yeah, you shouldn't just give up on such a long relationship"
"i don't know guys" jj walked around the car to open the hood "we decided this together and she seemed happy with the decision"
"i bet she's crushed and just didn't want you to know" pope argued
"yeah" john b nodded enthusiastically "you know y/n, she's always trying to be tough. she's with the girls right now, i bet she's feeling horrible"
"i just feel so relived, you know?" you were currently joining sarah and kie at their table while you were on your break. each of you devouring your ice cream.
"you go, girl!" sarah encouraged
"i mean the time we were together was amazing, but i just think we need to let it go"
"do you still love him?" kie asked leaning forward
"i guess" you shrugged "i don't think you can just stop doing that"
"i think you made the right decision" sarah nodded and kie send her a wide eyed look "you should know when a relationship isn't worth staying for"
"you're right" you looked at your phone to check the time "thanks guys, but i need to get back to work" you stood up from the table and walked back into the kitchen
"okay what was that?"
"what?" sarah "i just tried to help"
"by telling her she made the right choice?"
"she didn't?"
"yes…no" kie shook her head "i don't know, okay? what i do know is that it's always been y/n and jj as long as i've known them. they might seem fine, but nothing will ever be the same and they were really great together"
"that might be true, kie" sarah smiled emphatically "but we need to respect our friends decision. and when y/n thinks she made the right one then we have to trust her" kie nodded slowly "we cannot force them to upkeep a relationship, just because we are scared that their break up will destroy the friend group"
"you're right"
after your shift ended you left the shop together with kie and sarah, who had waited for you. "you really didn't have to wait for me" you smiled while you climbed in the backseat of kie's car.
"no problem" kie smiled
"we just want you to know that we're here for you" sarah turned around to look at you "to catch you if you should fall"
"o-kay" you breathed confused "why would that happen exactly?"
"are you kidding?" sarah laughed "you just left a long term relationship, no need to hold back your tears"
"i don't really do crying"
"alright" kie interrupted, before sarah could give you anymore unsolicited advice "let's just get you home"
"so you really think it's worth another shot?" jj stood infront of the flower shop. pope and john b to each side of him
"she will so happy to have you back" john b encouraged
"yeah, bet she's crying her eyes out right now" pope grinned
"bro" john b shook his head at the boy
"y/n doesn't cry" jj said absently his eyes on the yellow chrysanthemums "okay" he nodded "i'll do it"
"there you go brother" john b patted his shoulder while pushing him towards the entry
pope and john b waited outside the shop for jj to return, while jj was being advised by a girl that seemed to be working in the shop. pope snapped a quick picture of jj inside the flower shop and send it to kie
you were sitting on your bed in the chateau, while kie and sarah were preparing snacks for you in the kitchen. they had practically begged to wait in your room.
your eyes flew over the words on your book page, when a sudden sound peeked your interest. it was kie's phone that had just received a message. your curiosity got the better of you and you unlocked the phone.
pope had sent a photo of jj inside a flower shop a cute girl talking to him. your eyes grew big and then you noticed the caption that sealed the deal. how you get the girl
it was almost instantly that tears blurred your vision and you wiped them away in confusion. you turned kie's phone around and got up from the bed, sitting down on the floor in front of it, opening the drawer underneath it.
the drawer was filled with jj's things and memories of your time together. that made you cry even more. you grabbed the first hoodie you could find and pulled it over your head. then you sorted through all the stuff, your bedroom floor quickly being filled with things from your past.
"woah" sarah nearly lost her hold on the bowl of chips as she noticed you on the floor "seems like she does cry" she whispered in kiara's direction
"hey sweetheart" kie sat down on the ground beside you and opened her arms so you could crawl into them
"he's moving on so fast" you cried "i want him to be happy, but not with my favorite taylor swift song"
sarah and kie exchanged a confused look 'what is she talking about?' sarah mouthed, but kie just shrugged
"guys?" john b's voice could be heard from the front door "jj is with us"
the mention of his name made you cry even harder
"could you deal with that?" kie asked and sarah nodded, walking out of the room
"i don't think she should see you right now"
"what's wrong with her?" john b asked worriedly
"she's crying"
"y/n's crying?" jj put the flowers on the kitchen counter and tried to walk around sarah
"yeah" sarah shrugged "we told her the break up was the right thing to do and she seemed fine. but now she's crying her eyes out"
"y/n doesn't cry, sarah" jj seemed serious now
"you told her the break up was the right decision?" john b asked and sarah nodded
"we told jj the opposite" pope whispered loudly
"i can hear you" jj rolled his eyes "can i see her, please?"
sarah stepped aside and jj walked into your bedroom, followed by the rest of your friends
"y/n" he said as he noticed your crying form
you looked up at his voice and jj's heart broke as he noticed your sad expression, but then your face quickly changed. you seemed angrier than any of your friends had ever seen you. you got up and tried to charge at jj, luckily kiara could hold you back just before you were able to hit jj with an uppercut
"woah" jj raised his hands jumping back at your outbreak
"my favorite taylor swift song? really, jj?" you screamed and tried to free yourself from kie, but her hold wouldn't budge
"what are you talking about?" jj screamed back
"the flower shop girl" you cried "you obviously moved on quicker than i did"
jj send a panicked look in his friends direction. “how do you know about the flower shop?”
“so you admit to flirting with her?”
“no?” jj asked baffled “so?” he urged
“i read a text pope send to kie” you shamefully admitted, reaching for the phone on the bed and holding it in jj’s direction.
his eyes flew over the display quickly, looking at the photo and reading the caption. “how you get the girl, pope? really?” he was as angry as you had been a second ago and could now totally understand how you had misinterpreted the photo without it’s context
pope looked guilty. “he was getting flowers for you, y/n!” he tried to explain “i just took a photo without context but i was hinting the song at jj getting you back! you have to believe me”
you looked at the boy and saw the sincerity in his eyes. “i do” you nodded “where are they?” you turned your head at jj
“where is who?”
“the flowers” you rolled your eyes but he could see a smile forming on your face
“they’re in the kitchen”
you followed him out of the room, where he presented you with the flowers. “you got yellow chrysanthemums for me?” you said softly tears welling up in your eyes again
“i think you permanently changed her” he joked to pope, who smiled uncomfortably. jj turned back to you “of course baby, i would do anything if i can get you back. breaking up was the dumbest decision ever, don’t you think?”
“yeah” you laughed. “broke your heart i’ll put it back together” you whispered, leaning your forehead against his.
“i would wait forever and ever” jj smiled, and then he kissed you and all was well.
“and that, my friends, is how you get the girl” said sarah, crossing her arms happily, all while she ignored her friends protests at her not really seeing the importance of the situation like they had all begged her to at first. instead she just watched y/n and jj kiss and smile at each other.

I used to want a love of the ages, something that would make me feel like I was wanted. Not just there. I don't want him to just want me.
I dont know how to be a girlfriend- datings never been something I was good at. "What are you thinking about?" Mat asks as I run my hands along the leather casing of books.
"Stuff, like books" I reply trying to avoid the question he's going to ask
"Somehow I feel like books is a code name for something" He replies stepping towards me, “what are you truly thinking about?” He inquires
“Why?”
“Why what?” He looks at me with those big eyes that make my stomach twist into little knots and my knees buckle.
“Why me? Couldn’t you have had any woman at your fingertips?” I ask him; he shrugs in response and intertwines his arm with mine.
“It’s simple.. I think. Women throw themselves at me. You know. Puck bunnies. And sure I was content with that but I wanted something more.. someone who loved me for me— not just the number” his voice is calm and certain as we walk out the store and measel around the streets.
“I guess that makes sense, but how’d you know I wasn’t a puck bunny?” I question
“Well, the first time I walked in here, I was in my jersey and you still asked me for my name and not once did you mention Hockey. Even though the game was that night” he laughs a little and we walk back to my apartment.
“Do you want a glass of wine?” I ask as I punch in a code
“I would love that”
