Akaashi barely had any sleep left in his body to function normally.
The few days Bokuto had stayed in Miyagi felt excruciating. He doesn't know what to do and his mind is in a jumble. Akaashi also couldn't help but replay the scene he saw when he followed Bo over and over in his head, making his insecurity and guilt eat him inside.
"You plan to leave me for her?"
Akaashi's question pierced through the heavy tension in his and Bokuto's shared apartment.
Everything is a mess.
There isn't a day that has gone by where they wouldn't have a small disagreement or a tense atmosohere when they weren't alone. They try to hide their crumbling relationship to the team but it seems like they already knew.
Akaashi noticed that Bokuto doesn't look at him like the way he used to; before he met you. The fated soulmate.
He also couldn't look at his golden eyed lover without remembering what he did; it simply made his heart hurt.
The same person who made his heart leap up in joy, causes shivers down his spine and butterflies in his stomach now makes his heart sting and drop to his stomach.
Bokuto felt himself stop im his tracks as he dared not to look at Akaashi, fearing to see the intense gaze that is looking right at him.
"What are you saying Kei?"
Akaashi turned towards him, anger and sadness swimming inside his gunmetal eyes as hot tears threatened to spill from them.
"Don't you even try to deny it! You think I didn't know you went to Miyagi? How you said youre going to 'make things right'?! What was that supposed to mean!?"
He finally blew his fuse, all his pent up anger amd insecurity surfacing, Bokuto widened his eyes in confusion "What.. how.. Did you follow me..?" He asked, as he tries grab Akaashi's wrist.
"Don't you dare touch me!"
Akaashi yelled, startling the golden eyed captain. Bokuto suddenly felt a stinging sensation in his right cheek. He looked at Akaashi with shock as he slowly cupped the throbbing cheek with his hand.
"You told me... You told me you wouldn't leave me for whoever your soulmate is!" Hot tears continously poured from Keiji's eyes, he was in hysterics.
"I wouldn't-"
"Yes you fucking would!" Akaashi cries, pointing a finger to him. Bokuto frowned, "Akaashi, hear me out-"
"I don't want to hear your childish excuses!"
Bokuto scoffed, "Now I'm being childish? Have you seen yourself in the mirror?" His last bit of patience was gone when Akaashi decided to slap him.
Akaashi stared at him in disbelief "Are you hearing yourself right now Bo? Who on their right mind would cheat on their partner-"
"I didn't cheat on you!"
Bokuto panted, veins popping up on his neck as he stared at his lover. This isn't what he wanted. He wants their relationship to end on a good note, at the least.
"Oh? Is that so? You went to see your soulmate and without me knowing!"
"I don't feel anything to her!"
"Are you sure?" Akaashi challenged.
That made Bokuto stop and think for a second, which made it clear. "Akaashi... you know I love you."
Akashi nodded, finalky calming down. "I see.. Thankyou, Bokuto san."
Bokuto felt a sigh of relief when he saw Akaashi calming down, but in a split second it was replaced by anxiety when he sees Akaashi heading out the door.
"Where are you going?"
"Leaving. I'll take my things tommorow."
The third year didn't even try to stop his lover, he knows that his attempts will be futile.
Bokuto knew it was over between them when he heard Akaashi slamming the door behind him.
