I'm not the same anon who requested Zevlor x Human Reader with an age gap but I have a similar idea I want to check with you if I could request! Zevlor accidentally find out that Human Reader is insecure about the age gap & being human. You're aware about how different you are from him & told their friend that you wondered about even being seen as a potential romantic candidate let alone actually having a chance with HIM. He would be surprised that you're worried about that too & he has the courage to confess knowing you like him too! Please tell me if you're not interested! Thanks!

Eavesdropping (Zevlor x Human Tav)

Zevlor stopped before stepping around the corner, when he heard your voice. He wasn't sure why, but still he was standing there, listening to you talk.

"You're naive if you think he just sees you as a friend.", Karlach said.

"That's part of the problem. I might be naive, I am too young and I am human. My kind usually despises tieflings, so why would he even consider me as anything more than a friend.", you said.

"Listen, Zevlor probably bathes in his selfpity just like you do, pretending he isn't good enough for you. He would probably say he is too old for you and how he doesn't want you to be judged for being with a tiefling."

He knew how right these words were, Karlach wasn't talking to him, yet her words struck right through him.

Yet what he heard before that made his heart stutter, his palms feeling sweaty. You were just as conflicted as he was. Your insecurities mirroring his and it made him feel more confident to tell you how he felt.

He quietly took a step back to the door he had stepped through earlier, opening and closing it a bit louder so it seems like he had actually just entered the room now.

He stepped into sight, seeing Karlach and you sitting on your bed. Both yours and her eyes were on him and you quickly avoided them again.

"I'll get going, see you later.", Karlach smiled at you and gave you an encouraging smile.

When she walked past him, she nudged him with his elbow and he was aware what she wanted to tell him with it.

He walked closer to you, your eyes hesitantly looking up to him.

"Do you mind if I sit with you?", he asked.

You patted on the bed next to you and waited for him to sit down.

He did and gently took your hand in his. His thumb caressing the back of your hand and his gaze was on your hand in his.

"I have to tell you something.", he said quietly, his heart still beating too quickly and he hadn't felt this nervous in years.

"Oh, sure.. go ahead.", you looked up at him, enjoying the touch of his hands.

"I know I am much older and not of the same kind as you.. and still I can't help but feel myself drawn to you. I don't want to continue pretending I have no feelings for you."

His eyes were locked with yours, your own eyes wide and you couldn't believe your ears.

"You-.. you like me?", you asked. You needed the reassurance to know that your ears were working correctly.

"Yes, I like you. I would use the word 'love', but I know it easily scares off people, so lets pretend it's not that.", he said, smiling and waiting for a response from you.

The next moment your arms were around his shoulders, throwing yourself in his arms, embracing him.

"I love you, too. And I'm not scared to use that word, it is what I feel.", you whispered.

You felt his arms around you, pressing you closer to him. He was holding you close to him for a few moments, both of you breathing steadily, hands caressing each others backs.

You loosened the embrace, staying close to him, but moving away far enough to look into his eyes. One of your hands moved to his cheek, slowly caressing it.

You noticed his gaze falling to your lips for just a moment and a smile formed on them.

"Yes, you can kiss me.", you said.

He smiled too, leaning closer.

"Already reading my mind, I see."

His lips landed on yours, moving slowly, gently.

You sighed and closed your eyes. You had been waiting for this moment for a while and it felt much better than you would have ever imagined it.
