The soft hum of the studio filled the air as hyunjin leaned back in his chair, running a hand through his hair. The glow of the monitors reflected in his eyes, making them shine like the stars outside. It was the perfect environment for creativity, yet his mind was elsewhere focused on you.

You sat across from him, scrolling on your phone, occasionally glancing up to catch his eye. You had been friends for years, navigating the highs and lows of the industry together. It started with shared practices and late-night talks, evolving into something deeper, though neither of you dared to acknowledge it.

“Hey y/n” hyunjin said, breaking the silence. “Do you remember the first time we met” you looked up, your mouth curving into a smile. “Yeah. You spilled water all over me.” He chuckled, leaning forward. “I was so nervous. I thought you would hate me.” “Honestly, I was annoyed,” you admitted, “but then you made me laugh, so I didn’t stay mad.” His expression softened. “I’ve always liked how easy it is to talk to you.”

The moment hung in the air, the underlying tension in the air. You moved in your seat, aware of how close you were. “It is just… we have been through a lot together.it feels different now, doesn’t it?” hyunjin’ s gaze locked onto yours, the playful glint replaced with something deeper. “Yeah, it does.” Just then, the door swung open, and the other members burst in, their laughter filling the room. The moment was shattered, the bubble of intimacy replaced by the familiar chaos of friendship. But as you watched hyunjin interact with the others, a bittersweet ache settled in your chest.

He was the center of attention, his laughter echoing around the room. A quiet yearning stirred within you. His laughter blended with the others’, a sound you cherished, yet it also made you acutely aware of the distance between your feelings and the reality of your friendship.

As the group settled into the studio, you tried to shake off the moment you had shared with hyunjin. But the warmth of his gaze lingered in your mind, and every time your eyes met across the room your heart skipped a beat. The playful banter, the music and the laughter faded into background noise, and it was only you and him.

Later that night, as the members started to drift off to bed, you and hyunjin found yourselves alone in the studio again cleaning up after the days practice. The air was thick with unspoken words. “Hey,” he said, breaking the silence, “can we talk about what we touched on earlier? You know, the difference?” you nodded, feeling both nervous and excited. “Umm yeah.” hyunjin leaned against the table, arms crossed, a serious expression on his face “I have been thinking about us a lot lately. We have always been close, but now... it feels different now.”

“Yeah, it really” you agreed, stepping a little closer. “I have felt it too, especially with everything we have been through.” His gaze softened, and he ran a hand through his hair again, a nervous habit you had come to know well. “What if it complicates things? The group, the fans...”

You took a deep breath, stepping forward until you were directly in front of him. “I cannot ignore how I feel about you, hyunjin. I just... adore you but I do not want to ruin our friendship either.” his expression shifted, relief flooding his features.

“You do not know how much I have wanted to hear that. I thought that I was the only one who felt this way.” With a mix of excitement and apprehension, you reached out and gently held his hand. “Then we will figure it out together. We can take it slow and keep it between us.” He smiled a genuine smile that made your heart flutter. “I would love that, just us against the world.”

As you both stood there, the air crackling with tension and possibility, you felt a sense of hope blossom between you. The world outside the studio faded into the background as you focused solely on each other.
