Ok, headcanon(s) time!!

We all know and love The Duke from RE:8, right? Well I got this amazing idea into my head and I just have to share this.

Duke's a merchant who's been around a while and gone around the world couple of times, correct? Correct. So he's heard and seen things from other countries and cultures.

On one of his trips he picked up a walkman and some cassettes. 'What cassettes?', you're wondering. There's couple of cassettes from only two bands.

1. ABBA (his favorite song from all the songs is ABBA's Money, Money, Money.)

2. Queen

And he hasn't shown them to anyone. None of the lords know about 'em. Mother Miranda none the wiser. But Dimitrescu's daughters on the other hand...

One of the times that Duke's in the castle, trading with the girls. (Let's be honest here, he gives stuff to them for free sometimes(read as: most of the time))

So he's leaning a little bit forward to give something (stickers, just give the girls some stickers. They have fights over who gets the cutest one every. single. time.) to the girls when suddenly the walkman falls out of his pocket or from inside of his jacket or something and the girls just kind of... Look at it for a while. Dukes nervous (for some fucking reason). He knows the girls. He knows that they can be a little bit... Chaotic at times. He's seen and heard them fight over the stickers and other various things he's given them. (There's been a couple of mommy Alcina's favorite vases broken upstairs and Dukes just shaking his head before sighing and leaving the castle for a while. (Hes heard Alcina when shes mad and he doesn't wanna be on the receiving end of her wrath. But shes always nice to her daughters but still... This is Alcina we're talking about.))

Dukes trying to (nervously. Duke nervous? Never. This once? Yeah, a little.) talk to the girls. "Oh whoops. I wonder how that got there." You know, the usual nervous talking. One of the girls pick it up and he just goes silent. Like dead silent. They give it back to him, carefully, and ask him about it. 'What is it? What does it do? What are those long things coming out of it?' (The girls live in a castle in the middle of nowhere with no way of going outside. Of course they're curious! Also they ask Duke about most of the things he has in his little carriage and he's happily explaining and answering all the questions the girls have.) So he explains and even shows them how it works. The girls are amazed and joyous. They ask him more about it and by the end of the day there's even little stickers on it.

[Time skip a good couple of years]

Ethans here to save Rose! Dukes humming some of the songs randomly and in his own little world. (He's done this for a while now but no ones really ever questioned it. He never does it so that he doesn't know what's going on around him.) Sometimes he doesn't even notice Ethan coming up to him. But that doesn't happen often, it only really happens if Ethan just suddenly comes around the corner or something. ("... Are you humming Killer Queen?" "Oh Winters! What a surprise!") They have kind of a similar taste in music so sometimes they talk about that instead of business. (Ethan is secretly happy about these moments. They're a nice little break from all the shits that's going down.)

So in conclusion:

The Duke has a walkman that's decorated with cute stickers and a couple cassettes from ABBA and Queen.
