Ok but, brainstorming here, danny as an avatar of the end but also the spiral and/or the extinction ? Like the end yeah sure obviously, but the spiral in that he looks vaguely wrong in BOTH forms. He looks like walking corpse as a human, pale and cold and somewhat decaying. As a ghost he's got too much blush to his cheeks, you can feel his bones and see him bleed and he doesn't look quite as transparent/translucent as the others do, he's too human. The extinction idk if I'd include or not but idk something about being one of the only of your specific species kinda hits in that area I think.
The only other characters I have a clear fear tie to would be his parents, while yes you could argue their also the end I think they fit so much better with primarily the hunt, for again probably obvious reasons. The end could tie into that, IF they have to come to the realization that they are tied in with what they've seen as their prey all along, which could be fun to handle. Oh, like parent like child as well, you could say their extinction purely bc they gave the ghosts access to the living and created danny which creates dan who kinda ends humanity π just brainstorming don't mind me.
also. there's an angel in the specific scene of the Psalter I'm talking about. the Gates of Hell scene. there's an angel laying in front of the gates, keeping it closed. Why do I feel like the writers just took the damn thing and thought "huh. let's make a show about this".
or even that they tied this in to show sam's genuine connection to Christ, or him being the Christ. The writers finding this coincidence and exploiting it, or knowing from the beginning.
Showing us that he (Sam) truly had been prophesied to exist since the 12th century. had been born, maybe to save the world a few times, but ultimately die. and maybe dean saved him from that, allowing him to live happily ever after. After all, the whole story of Jesus was about sacrifice, right?
I wanna know if Kripke named the brothers Winchester, after the Winchester Psalter. As in the ancient, --Closing The Gates Of Hell-- Winchester Psalter. bc I'm in an art history class and I noticed the names and the descriptions, and then I looked at the art. and I was like. what the fuck. some art history nerds pls tell me if I'm crazy for this or not.
