Blocking the one character from the one show that the fandom wouldn't shut up about was truly a magical decision. 10/10, would recommend.
I’m very slowly watching Wednesday on Netflix and loving it—and can we talk for a second about how delightful it is to watch this legacy series that centers a quietly Latinx family?
The Addams family is pretty clearly Latinx but while the series doesn’t shy away from that fact, it also doesn’t completely foreground it and I find that choice really compelling. There’s often this push to make media that centers non-white identities really focus on the culture or otherness of the identity, but here it’s more like, yes we are Latinx but also we’re monsters, maybe let’s also talk about that?
I’m still on episode one but it makes me really happy.
