Now. Since the rift swallowed both Sam and [error]/archivist and the universes are still unbalanced I can think of a couple of options

1. It spits Sam out. Either villain arc or he comes back completely fucked up - easy to manipulate by higher powers. Or convince to join a cult. Many possibilities.

2. It spits archivist out. It still wanders around aimlessly. Maybe ultimately comes into contact with Freddy? Much to consider. Maybe it manages to make contact with people? Alice?

3. Like I mentioned here archivist might be half a person

so something entirely fucked up might happen. Sam gets split into two like some dr jekyll and mr hyde situation.

4. The balancing doesn't work. People just belong in their own universes. Celia keeps being pushed towards hilltop and her sacrifice of Sam ultimately turns out to be useless, leaving a lot of complicated feelings
