I Love It And I Hate It - Tumblr Posts
I think the decline in Aphmau as a character and, in turn, each series, is that she became increasingly more of a self insert. Self inserts aren't totally bad, but it's hard to put aside bias. Aphmau just became a means to escape, a fantasy world where things were more mystical than reality even to the detriment of other characters. A place where it didn't matter what the audience liked, because her husband voiced Aaron, so of course they'd end up together. This isn't to say that I hate the concept entirely, just to point out why I think it turned out the way it did.
None of my friends watch miraculous ladybug. Sometimes, I just wanna talk (vent) about it with someone, and I think about telling them to watch it. But I must resist the urge to bring them into the fandom. YEARS of waiting and for what? Strife? Turmoil? Agony? I must put my own selfishness aside. It's for their own good!
