You know how it is when you blackmail a pirate captain because he faked his death to avoid being Catholic, and then his very in-mourning Catholic dad unwittingly forces you to take him to his son (who is Not Going Back to Ishgard) to negotiate with a "ruthless pirate captain" for financial aid for his hometown, so everybody involved does the worst coverup possible on the fly.
