section 1: introduction/overview

If You Love Me

natasha romanoff is a compassionate, intelligent, and strong-willed soul. insanely perceptive and observant because of her past forced occupation as a spy and assassin, natasha is hard to fool and even harder to receive trust from. however, once you get to know this gentle-hearted redhead, you will quickly find that she is one of the softest people around.

section 2: personality/habits

If You Love Me

natasha is loving, kind, and even playful at times. at first glance, she may seem stoic or indifferent, but once she gets comfortable with you, she will smile a lot. she enjoys spending time alone to recharge, but also is not opposed to being with her loved ones often. when given time alone, it is important to let your natasha know that you value her alone time so she doesn't feel guilty for distancing herself from you. provide her some of her favorite snacks (peanut butter crackers, reeses, and chocolate), put on a james bond movie, and play some calming music and allow her to rest. she will return with cuddles, hugs, and smiles very soon. she may even ask you to join her in relaxing, and if she does so, that means natasha really trusts you.

natasha isn't fond of lies, secrets, or manipulation. this is a deal breaker for her, and if it occurs, she will promptly separate herself from you. however, she doesn't mind you keeping things from her if you plan to lovingly surprise her later (not telling her about a gift you bought, a vacation, etc.). trust is very important to natasha, as well as honesty.

natasha is not recommended for manipulative, overly selfish, or harmful people. a loving environment with trust, patience, honesty, and understanding is best for you.

natasha is not always very emotional, but it is not uncommon for her to cry. common causes of tears may be reminders of trauma, death, sad movies, or nightmares. natasha often has nightmares, so when this happens, make sure to hold her and stay with her until she falls back asleep. do not make any sudden movements or speak loudly to her when she is in this state. be calm, gentle, and kind.

natasha is also a very protective person when it comes to her loved ones. if she feels that anyone is being threatened, she will immediately take action. make sure to let her know that you will protect her too and hold her hand if you notice that she feels uneasy in public.

section 3: ideal habitat/sightings

If You Love Me

natasha is not a very picky person, though she is sensitive to certain things because of her past. natasha's habitat will likely be clean at all times, as she is very good at keeping after herself. she doesn't enjoy her room being shrouded with lights, especially at night, so expect to keep the room dark and cool before she goes to bed. natasha will not ask for it, but she'll very happy if you keep peanut butter flavored snacks nearby, as well as water.

natasha mostly stays in her room, but she can be found in other locations, as well. common locations that natasha frequents are libraries, cafes, grocery stores, and fitness centers. it is also likely to find her in a place that sells movie dvds or music cds. if found, do not approach her immediately. she is wary of strangers and is very cautious. gently speak to her and praise her for her strength and hard work with the avengers. do not make any derogatory or rude statements about her body, abilities, or occupation.

section 4: likes/dislikes

If You Love Me

again, while natasha is not very picky, she is particular about what she likes. she enjoys anything pizza, sandwiches, anything peanut butter flavored, and many russian foods. she also enjoys vegetables and sweet fruits like bananas, pears, and oranges. taking natasha out to try new things is a great idea! because of her past, the opportunity to explore the world was not an option for her, so make sure to be gentle and thoughtful when she gives new things a try. natasha is very intelligent, so it's likely that she can pick up on anything you introduce to her very quickly.

natasha is a very empathetic and caring soul, therefore she does not like injustice at all. if natasha becomes too overwhelmed watching/reading the news, make sure to comfort her and let her know that she is safe. be sure to also let her know that it is not her responsibility to defend the world and that she can rest. natasha also dislikes disrespectful or mean-spirited people. these people often make her irritated, so make sure to keep an eye on any of these people coming near natasha.

section 5: care

If You Love Me

natasha has a very soft heart. she is not fragile, but she is a very sensitive person. due to this, she can often be moved to tears when watching sad scenes in films or watching someone die (even if she is not close to them). therefore, it is imperative that you let natasha know that she is not alone and provide her with whatever she may need. if natasha distances herself, let her be alone for as long as she needs. make sure that she is equipped with enough food, water, and blankets. when natasha comes to you after a while of being alone, comfort her with as much physical touch as she'd like. she may be very clingy, so make sure to let her know that this is alright and hug her tight. drape her body with blankets and make sure that her head is supported by a soft pillow. she may take a while to fall asleep until the early hours of the morning, so make sure that the windows are not emitting too much light.

section 6: conclusion

natasha is an adorable, protective, and loving companion to have! equipped with a loving, tender heart, admirable strength, and high intelligence, she will dutifully love you until the end of time as long as you treat her with care, love, and patience. keep her healthy, happy, and taken care of, she deserves it after everything she's been through. after all, what's not to love about her?

love,

From This List

---

"Her vitals are fine?" You asked, eyes practically carving a hole in the screen in front of you. The images, numbers and lines probably burned into your retinas. Harsh neon blues against the transparent screen. "Everything's normal… at least for now." Tony set down the tablet, the screen clanking against the hard surface of the desk top.

"Nothing's normal about this." You bit down on your lip, trying to regulate your emotions, hands balled tightly as you stood up. You needed to pace around, feeling your heart throbbing in your chest or maybe your throat, you weren't sure.

But your whole body felt tight. Like every involuntary action was taking double the work. "Natasha's been unconscious for weeks."

You rubbed at your temples, trying to tame your flared emotions, trying to quiet the throbbing in your head. You took a few deep breaths before turning back towards the larger screen. "And this," you pointed at one of the lines, it was the only one you noticed to be more irregular.

You figured you should've asked about it sooner, but you trusted Tony and Bruce with the science crap. And at this point you trusted them with Nat's life. Trusted them enough.

If you were being honest you weren't sure you could handle the possibility of anymore bad news. But if it were something bad they would tell you…right?

Tony sighed, "her brain activity…" He rubbed at the back of his neck, "has been fluctuating on and off." He watched the steady line for a moment before looking back at you, "without communication or physically being inside Natasha's brain we can't tell if it's just aftershock of the mind control…"

"Or permanent damage." You bit your lip, worrying it between your teeth, "what if she never wakes up? What if her mind is lost or something?" You looked at the lines that were currently steady.

She was alive. Wasn't that supposed to be some kind of saving grace? You thought the worst of it was over.

But here you were. Waiting. And somehow, with each passing day, it was feeling even more hopeless than before. It felt like your stomach and throat were laced with acid. You needed to sit back down. You were getting light headed, the colors on the screen blurring.

"Nat, she's a fighter." Tony stood behind you but didn't offer any sort of comfort in the form of touch; knowing it wouldn't make you feel better. "She shouldn't have to be," you whispered, pinching your eyes shut and somehow still seeing the vital signs behind your eyelids.

"I know." He paused, as if he wanted to say more but knew better. Tony wasn't one for comforting words. Him and Natasha were the same in that way, hiding behind sarcasm and wit even though they very clearly wore their emotions on their sleeve more than they liked to admit.

"Don't give yourself a headache watching that screen." He gave you a gentle bump on the shoulder before leaving you alone with your thoughts. And Natasha vitals.

+

"Natasha." You could already feel the lump forming in your throat, her name a rough croak scraping against your vocal chords.

You'd talked to her so many times over the passing weeks, not sure if she could actually hear you, but this time was different. You knew she could hear you. At the very least you hoped she could. Natasha was awake: that much you did know.

She looked at you, there wasn't recognition on her face, there wasn't any emotion. It almost felt like there was a film over her eyes, she was looking in your direction but you weren't sure that she was actually seeing you.

You watched her chest rise and fall. Steady paced. Like you'd done so many times. Mesmerized by the rethymic motion. The simplest sign of life.

You considered turning around, your body feeling warm and uneasy, throat going dry while the rest of your body felt clammy. The possibility that her memory was lost or altered. The possibility that you were nothing to her while she was still your everything.

Did Natasha even know who she was, you wondered. And somehow that made your chest ache all the more tighter.

"Nat." You swallowed, taking a few steps closer until you were hovering just a step or two shy of her hospital bed.

Natasha blinked, the soft faded color of her irises creeping away, whatever effect lingered seeping away as the emerald returned to her eyes. "Honey." She spoke but something about that word sounded unfamiliar on her tongue, "have you been crying?"

You looked confused, instincitvely wiping at your cheeks, though there were currently no tears left you weren't sure you ever truly stopped crying.

"What is it?" Natasha moved to sit up with a grunt, face contorting into a pained grimace before she accepted the fact that her body was too weak. Instead settling upon reaching for your hand. The palm of her hand ice cold, almost like stone, her grip barely there. "What's wrong?"

You didn't know what she did or didn't remember, but it was clear she remembered you. Or at the very least her subconcious rememebred you enough to be worried. The same worry that plagued you to your core.

"It's nothing," you swallowed finally taking the seat next to her bed, "I've got a headache." It was nothing compared to what she'd faced. What she would have to face; the reality of her mind control. The possibility of having to piece her memories back together like a puzzle.

Natasha smiled, a soft bated breath passing through her lips, she seemed to settle more into her bed, eyes closing, "my head hurts too."
