thinking about this line from gideon's letter:

Outdoors during the day, a woman walks down a residential street. The subtitle at the bottom of the image reads: "but I've realised I can't look at anyone, without seeing their death."

yes, he's speaking broadly here—immediately after we see this woman walking, it cuts to zoomed in images of bodies. that's obvious.

but i think he's also talking about reid, especially because the letter is addressed to him. reid, whose death he literally did see. he means "i cant look at strangers without picturing their death and that's why i cant do this job anymore" but he also means "i cant look at you without picturing you seizing on a filthy floor and thats why i cant work with you anymore"
