Thisssss. Personally, I love Trevor though I get why most people don't like him. I think his character is one of the cases where the writers dropped the ball big time (really? Social worker who is around mentally ill teenagers all the time grossly mismanages Ian's bipolar?) but I never got why this one scene is used as hate fuel so abundantly. Ian was being an asshole, at first accidentally but then completely deliberately, so Trevor decided to be an asshole back. Wow, what a surprise given this is THE SHOW OF ASSHOLES™.

i just rewatched the whole trevor-ian-monica episode and im even more annoyed that people use this one scene to hate on trevor

because it starts with ian mocking trevor for the id thing and then trevor is obviously stressed and angry and maybe a bit embarrassed and when he tells ian "she apologised, move on" hes VERY OBVIOUSLY mocking ian for his past lowkey transphobic actions and the situation just now because this is how ian acted in the past, he said weird shit and then was confused when Trevor actually held him up to it

and yeah what he said wasnt right but he was full of emotions and he was trying to hit ian where it hurts the most because ian constantly fucked up about his transness.

and i dont want to hear shit like "oh but ian was just uneducated" from cis people because. it still fucking hurts and people hating on trevor for this one scene taken out of context and not holding other characters up to the same thing is just transphobic and i will not let myself be convinced otherwise
