Inktober day3: “Marrow”

Hunter’s Journal, Entry #1: The Bonewalker.
These skittish cryptids have a hard exterior shell made from bone. I have yet to find out if they find these shells or wether or not they are born with them. Either way the rest of them is fragile, warm, and has a hard spongey texture. It has a slight reddish hue which I could not convey with my limited supplies. They wander the woods and typically avoid human activity, but sometimes the curious critters will hide behind trees and observe humans. While I have never seen one attack someone, I’m sure these beasts still are evil, even if they are not an active threat. They make for easy game, the non shell part of them can be used for medicinal purposes, and their shell makes for great building materials. Things made with their shell tend to be stronger than steel, and are easy to combine with other cryptids parts for magical properties.
“There’s whispers around Zapolyarny Palace that Dottore’s eldest is just like him, from her goals, to her research, the way she yells and even down to the laughter coming from the lab in the dark of the night where even the Tsaritsa herself sleeps…. Nobody has seen her work up close, the young scientist insisting “ You could be hurt, and we would hate to have anything happen wouldn’t we?” This reasoning is enough for the agents of the palace, who think her concern over them is kind compared to her Father’s yelling but the truth of the matter remains she would rather not have to train a replacement if they where to be killed. All that can be said is rumors of a bright blue glow in dark of the night and mechanical strings that had fallen off a puppet” -ruined note
Happy inktober everyone!!! Sorry about the kinda cringe caption, I wanted to have some fun! In our beautiful drawing we have a beloved genshin oc, Dottore’s eldest child, Mirabelle, looking proudly at the progress of her own puppet, like father like daughter right? I’m using the inktober 52 prompt list bc I was NOT drawing spiders so todays prompt was build! But of course every puppet needs a pilot….
