I've Been Really Busy For The Last Couple Weeks Getting Ready For A Convention I'll Be Vending At Next

I've been really busy for the last couple weeks getting ready for a convention I'll be vending at next weekend, and haven't had much chance to post photos of things. So I thought I'd just post a couple in-progress shots to prove that I'm still alive. Here we've got some studded bracers (showing the front and the underside); a bracer with a celtic knot pattern cut through; and what will become a cover for a small Moleskine notebook, similar to this one. (This one I made just for myself. The interrobang is my favorite punctuation mark. It's used when you're both excited and unsure.)

I already talked about Nauticon in a previous post, so I won't go on too much about it. It promises to be raucous and  bawdy, and I think it'll be a lot of fun. I've still got a good amount of work left to get ready for it, but the goal is in sight.

I Made A Couple New Leather Notebook Covers. The First One I Made Was A Bit Overly Fancy, With A Bunch

I made a couple new leather notebook covers. The first one I made was a bit overly fancy, with a bunch of stitch-work on the covers, so these are more straightforward. I'm using Moleskine notebooks for the insides because they're nice, and they're freely available.

The Celtic knot pattern is cut all the way through to expose the cardstock of the blank journal inside. It's up for sale over on my Etsy shop.

The interrobang is engraved into the surface of the leather. This one I made just for myself. (The interrobang is definitely my favorite punctuation mark.) As photographed the notebook has been in and out of my pocket and backpack for a couple weeks. So it's holding up pretty nicely.

I'm liking this concept, and would like to make more if it looks like they'll sell. If people have any requests for different types of patterns to do on these, let me know!

WHATS THIS?

WHATS THIS?

WHY, IT’S A MOTHERFUCKING INTERROBANG.

Not only does it have a sweet-ass name, but it’s a fucking amazing piece of punctuation.

Does your teacher bitch at you for using a “?” and a “!”? Well then, this is the thing for you!  YOU JUST PULL THIS BITCH OUT, AND WIPE THE GRIN OFF THAT  MOTHER-FUCKER’S FACE. Watch as their mind is blown that you’re using famous punctuation from the NINETEEN SIXTIES.

True. Fucking. Facts. This glorious character was invented by Martin K. Spekter in 1962. That’s right, even its creator had a bad-ass name.

BUT. ALAS. THIS MIND-BLOWING, ELEPHANT ORGASMING PUNCTUATION NEVER GOT TO BE  DECLARED  “OFFICIAL”. That’s why it doesn’t show up in all your fancy ass computer fonts.

SO YOU KNOW WHAT I SAY‽ I SAY WE BRING BACK THE INTERROBANG. USE IT WHEN YOU CAN. SPREAD THE WORD. RE-BLOG THIS SHIT.

TODAY IS PUNCTUATION DAY

If there's enough interest or if Other wins the majority I'll do a punctuation mark bracket!
