Yesterday I read the book "Isle of the Lost" for the first time, and I had some questions.
The friendship of the VK in the first film and the book doesn't seem the same. The moment with the journey to Maleficent's castle is, of course, interesting, but I'm not ready to believe that they became friends so quickly. When I watched the first film, it seemed to me that they had been good friends for at least a few years.
They so easily forgot about their pets left on the Isle.
So do the villains live in different houses or in the same one?
What kind of dreams did Ben and Mal have? Some kind of "True Lovers" connection? Do all "True Lovers" have dreams like this? OH NO I THOUGHT ABOUT JANE AND CARLOS' TOO CUTE SCENE I FEEL SAD.
Now, a little bit off the book. Are "True Lovers" like soulmates in this universe?
Why didn't any of the characters listen to Ben? Are they so unimpressed with him as part of the royal family?
I feel so bad for VK's childhood... They should go to a psychologist there, or something. Why aren't there psychologists in this universe?..
I really want more brotherly/sisterly moments between Carlos & Evie and Jay & Mal. But what were those jokes about the Jay and Evie pairing?
For some reason, it seems to me that the characters here aren't sixteen, but two years younger.
I recently talked about possible dreams of "True Lovers"... Jane and Carlos, yes.
Carlos might see some game where the Auradon team wins. Congratulations were heard from all sides. Carlos turns around in surprise, noticing a girl in a blue dress among the crowd.
"Congratulations, Carlos. You were amazing!" she smiles.
"But who are you?.."
"The luckiest girl in the world, because I have you." Something in her voice makes him believe it.
"Well, if someone can really love me..."
Next is Jane's dream. I think the scene from Part 3 where Carlos gives Jane a necklace would be appropriate here.
"Jarlos? What does that mean?" Jane mutters, looking at the gift.
"Our names are together," explains the guy with black and white hair sitting opposite her.
“Ours?.. So, we’re a couple? A real one?” she asks uncertainly.
“And I’m incredibly happy that this is so,” the stranger smiles warmly.
I don't know, these are just sketches.
Dr. Brenner came out on the other side of the Upside Down and ended up in The Isle of the Lost.
Auradon turned him good and now he runs a magic laboratory where he trains former VKs to harness their powers.
Hi welcome to my worldbuilding blog for descendants, feel free to ask me anything descendants related.

These are the gangs that have been acknowledged by the other VKs and have spots in the GC, sometimes other groups will pop up, but they don’t tend to last long. The Leaders are the people who lead their gang, then the second is like the next in charge, sort of like a right-hand man. Some gangs also have stipulations for joining, (I’ll make separate posts about each of the gangs later.
Places on the Isle

Language Headcannons
All the VKs speak multiple languages due to the fact that the Isle is a cultural melting pot, because even villains care about their culture. Most people speak 3-4 languages fluently, it is one of the advantages the VKs have over the AKs.
Everyone knows at least 2 languages fluently.
Everyone knows random words and phrases from languages they don't speak.
The most common languages are English, French, Chinese, German and Arabic
The least common are Faire Speak, Latin, Greek and Atlantican due to the lack of speakers on the Isle.
The Pirates know the most languages out of everyone because their parents wanted them to be able to travel anywhere. They also know Atlantican, Greek, Latin and Faire Speak because Uma, her cousins/siblings and the Hook Siblings taught them.
Freddie and Celia speak French and Creole
Most VK’s just speak their parent’s language as a first language
Education
There are three schools on the isle, Dragon Hall, Serpent Prep and Crow Academy (Witch School). However, there is a lack of education on the Isle, classes focus on how to be evil instead of things like English, Math and Science. This means that most people can only do basic math and reading. Even children whose parents do know how to do math or read properly aren't likely to teach their kids that, as they will prioritize survival skills.
Books are rare on the Isle, those that come on the barges are either to damaged to read or are taken to Dr Facilier's Library. Having books is a sign of power.
Originally Dragon Hall was the only school but as more children were born Serpent Prep and Crow Academy were opened. Not all children attend school some are homeschooled, and some simply don't go to school at all. If you attend school you are expected to turn up late, and not partake in lessons.
By the time children are 9-10 they are expected to be in some manner of employment by or for their families, the age children are put to work varies between households, by the time they are teenagers they are given harder more demanding jobs or are made to do the backbreaking physical labor that the adults don't want to do.
It isn't required to go to school, but there isn't actually that much to do so the kids go anyway to learn about scheming, fighting and general wickedness. Detention and punishments are given out for things like helping someone pick up their books etc.
Skipping class happens often though the teachers don't make it easy for the kids, Bill Sykes has provided the school with several vicious dogs around campus. Fighting happens often and is encouraged by the teachers as way of solving arguments. There is also a lot of gang activity that happens, properly more so than anywhere else.

Food and Drink
The food on the Isle is mainly leftovers from Auradon. There is also a small supply of fish which is the only fresh food you can get on the Isle. The lack of sun and general quality of the Isle stops most things from growing and the little area of the Isle that can grow something is controlled by the Hearts. Residents rely on Auradon entirely for food, this means that all the food they do get is best it's best or barly edible.
The food is sent on the barges and mixed up between all the other trash on them. Things like stale bread and moldy fruit, stuff that Auradon doesn't want. The other option is eating rats or seagulls of which there is plenty around the Island.
Due to the large population and the fact that to food they are sent isn't always edible, people often go hungry.
Choice of drinks is also limited, there is one freshwater spring in the small hills by the Animal Quarter. Coffee can be made from old beans and filters, there is very little milk on the Isle it is mostly black coffee. They reuse teabags to make tea, and people will squash inedible fruit to flavor the water, plants are also blended in drinks to try and make smoothies.
Alcohol is the other option when it comes to drinks. Residents use fermenting fruits to make their own alcohol. While it isn't very good it is very strong. People on the Isle brew very potent alcohol. There isn't any drinking age so many kids and teens drink. Most of the older kids have been drinking awhile because they didn't have anyone telling them not to, but they try to stop their younger siblings from also becoming alcoholics.
Overall food on the Isle is bad and not for the weak stomach. Food is either cooked in restaurants or open fires in the streets, most things that are sent over has already been cooked or can be eaten raw so very few people have stoves in their houses. There are very few stoves on the Isle and the few that are there are reserved for the shops that's jobs are to feed the Isle residents.
There are lots of gangs on the Isle, both made up of VKs and Adults. Some gangs are simply groups of people who have joined together in an effort to survive, they try to stay out of the politics and schemes of the isle, they might claim a small amount of territory, but it is usually on a couple of streets or buildings. Out of all of the gangs made up of the VKs there are 32, who have made it to the top of the pile. These gangs all control bigger territory and have more power. They got to the top by being the most ruthless and not being scared of anything, always taking the risks and grabbing for as much as they could, some of these gangs have the backing of their parents, but some didn't, the ones that didn't are the most feared, that isn't to say the ones that had backing aren't though.
All the gangs are likely to clash with each other, this leads to infighting, gang wars and turf wars. It is whispered in dark corners of loud buildings that the leaders are like warlords. The gangs aren't always fighting, there are alliances, fragile and dangerous as they may be.
It is a rare day on the Isle when there isn't fighting, but on certain occasions there will be cease fires, such as on Samhain and Initiation, there are also certain places that are considered neutral, like the town square and Curl Up and Dye.
VK Hierarchy
Due to Maleficent's position as ruler of the Isle, Mal is automatically considered at the top of the food chain. Mal first came onto the streets at 10 as an enforcer for her mother. As the years went on she made a name for self by being ruthless, Mal also started to put a gang together and went off on her own, Maleficent's territory slowly became more known as Mal's. Though Mal does still live in Bargin Castle and does report to her mother, however she has stopped being an enforcer and has made her own name for herself instead of just being Maleficent's enforcer. The Fae Syndicate is one of the most dangerous gangs on the isle and controls a large territory.
The Fae Syndicate is closely followed by The Burbers and the two Pirate Crews The Burbers are a large gang and they hold a lot of territory, they are lead by Yasmine daughter of Jafer and Jay's twin, Yasmine is a formidable woman who earned her place by killing the former leader of the Burbers after he broke sanctum. Her second is Hugo Rourke, who is know for his sheer strength and the fact that he is loyal to the bone.
Both Uma's and Harriet's Pirate Crews have a decent amount of territory, they also have access to the only fresh food supply and they control all the docks on the Isle. Uma's crew control the left side of harbour town from the dark cliffs and Ursula's to the barge docks in the centre of harbour town. They also stretch up enough to control some of the edges of the town proper. Harriet's crew control the right side of harbour town from the Jolly Rodger and Hook's Inlet to the barge docks. They also control some of the edges of the town proper
The Lost Children and the Merchant Punks are next, they garner a lot of respect and fear. The Lost Children, led by Anthoney Tremaine, because they are the oldest on the Isle and had to cut their place out, to be seen as more than just extensions of their parents, the Lost Children are also different because they only except those who were born with the first two years on the isle.
The Merchant Punks, led by Leo Silver, are a large gang with a large territory, they control the majority of the Bazaar and the shops so you don't wan to anger them less you lose access to most things on the isle.
The gangs are mainly on equal footing though and as things like territory and supplies and allies are always changing there is no sure fire way to know who is better than the others, though all the gangs like to say they are the best.
"You shame us for being the products of an environment you caused." Yasmine to Fairy Godmother.
