“Does he look like he’s dying to you? Better question is, is it infectious? Is that why you told us not to come? You look fine.” Mu Qing squints at him, crossing his arms over his chest.

“I’m fine physically, don’t worry,” Xie Lian assures. “It’s more… Ah, I’ll just show you.” He shakes his head decidedly and clamps his mouth shut. You see, it’s like this, he thinks and both Feng Xin and Mu Qing’s eyes widen.

“What the fuck!” Feng Xin bursts out. “What the fuck! What the fucking fuck! How the hell did you just talk?! Your mouth wasn’t moving!”

While Feng Xin bristles, Mu Qing’s face softens with clarity. “Are you stupid?” He whacks Feng Xin’s shoulder soundly, and Feng Xin makes an indignant noise, smacking him back. Mu Qing ignores him, too interested in Xie Lian’s current predicament. “His thoughts are public! Whatever he thinks, we can hear!”

(Xie Lian gets hit with evil qi from a dispersing spirit and wakes up the next day with all his thoughts public for those around to hear! How embarrassing...)
