there is no way people are hating on oscar for overtaking lando. there is no way.
they're racing. it's a race. mclaren have said that 481 are free to do whatever they want as long as they don't crash. lando got a good start and didn't lose the lead into turn 1. oscar pulled a move where lando would have no choice but to give the place, and they finished 2-3. no crash. WHERE IS THE PROBLEM??
"oh lando should take higher priority bc he has a chance at winning the wdc" ok 1) he got 8 points over max which is all he needs every single race to beat him and 2) do you seriously want this championship to be handed to lando?? it's a championship fight. emphasis on fight. if osc has the opportunity to get more points and get p3/p2 in the drivers standings why wouldn't he? he's a racer too, or is he supposed to sacrifice his best season yet bc maybe lando will win? lando doesn't seem to think that either. a championship takes effort, and his teammate owes him nothing, especially at the cost of his own performance.
honestly the way ppl are talking you'd think that oscar is disobeying team orders left and right and crashing into lando on the regular but he's not!! he's civilised when it comes to battles. mclaren are okay with it. lando is "okay with it", but if he's not he's just gonna have to deal bc oscar's his teammate not his servant.
whether papaya rules are a good idea in this semi-title fight is a whole other discussion (we'll see at the end of the season), but that's got nothing to do with oscar. mclaren haven't told him no yet, so he's free to do whatever he wants. because, as i've said, it's a race. that happens sometimes. why are you watching formula 1 if you just want engineered results 😭😭
anyways great job to oscar for that overtake. great job to lando for keeping it civil. AMAZING JOB TO CHARLES, LITERALLY WON THE TWO RACES HE WANTED TO WIN MOST WHAT A KING.
