Its Like The Henry Vii Died Of Grief Thing Re: Eoys Death - Tumblr Posts

As Elizabeth Norton puts it, Henry ‘hounded her to death’ which is also .... ? I don’t have the official tally but I don’t believe she was asked to sign the Oaths more than twice (and in fact it might have been just once); before that (from 1531- onwards, at which point Henry never saw her in person again) she was visited by his councilors often , and had things requested and demanded of her, certainly. If it counts as being ‘hounded to death’, I mean idts, I would say more ‘hounded’ to distress.

Is there a source other than Chapuys to legitimately suggest that KOA spent her final years living in something like squalor? As far as I know she was living comfortably, just not anything like a queen consort (which would have, understandably, been hard to adjust to after twenty years), but the story/popular belief that her living conditions contributed directly to her death persists.
