“Welcome to Korea,” Han-seok greeted you at the airport with a huge grin on his face. “How was your flight?”

But the grin faded the moment you got closer and he saw how angry you looked. And then things got worse for him when you spoke up. “I already regret coming here.”

“Don't be like that. I already said sorry like a million times,” he said with a sigh as he took the suitcase from you.

“Saying sorry doesn't make up for what you did.”

It didn’t? What else was he supposed to do? Get on his knees and beg for your forgiveness? Rolling his eyes, he began walking towards the exit. “You still came, this is all that matters.”

“I won't stay for long,” you pointed out.

“We’ll see. I have a feeling you'll love this.”

Suddenly a dog appeared by your feet, but despite the collar and leash you couldn't see the owner around. “Who's dog is this?” you asked loudly in Korean. A few moments later a kid ran over to you and apologized as he picked up the leash from the floor. “No problem, just be more careful next time.”

“Your Korean is still good,” Han-seok told you with a smile.

“This is the only good thing that came out of our relationship.”

He nodded. “I'm glad I could help.”

During the car ride to his house, he quickly told you everything you had to know about the current situation, including his little act at Wusang. You didn’t seem to understand his motivation to go undercover as an intern, but he didn’t mind. He hadn’t brought you here to help, he just needed an audience. And who would be better than you? While others like his brother would say whatever he wanted to hear, you always aimed to be as honest as possible, even if that enraged him.

And there was another reason as well—he missed you. Sure, he had a lot on his plate now, but the two of you had lived together in the States for so long that he missed having you around. The next logical step was finally asking you to marry him, after all this way he could make sure you were his for good. It wouldn’t be easy after what had happened between you before he moved back though, but it was worth a try.

“I know why you're acting like this,” he said when you were standing in his living room later that day. You gave him a questioning look with your arms folded over your chest. “You still have feelings for me, you just don't want to accept it.”

“You're wrong,” you told him without hesitation.

“Am I?” The moment you nodded in response, he took off his shirt and tossed it on the floor. He knew you, and he could always tell what was going on in your mind. “I know your body language well enough to know you still want me,” he informed you with a smile.

You gulped. “Don't look this smug.”

“Why not? I'm right.”

“No, you’re not.” After rolling his eyes at you, he put a hand on the side of your neck and kissed you, happy to see you didn’t resist at all. When you pulled away a little, you said, “Even if you are, it’s only physical attraction, nothing more.”

“I can work with that. Why don't we see if we can pick up where we left off?”

“Goodnight,” you whispered as you got out of his grasp and began to walk away from him.

Han-seok let out a frustrated groan. Why couldn’t you just give in? He was really beginning to think you would spend the night with him, and then you shut him out just like that. But it was just one night, he could easily survive that. There was one thing he had to know before going to sleep, though. “Wait, just answer me before you leave. Please.”

“You know what's my biggest problem with you?”

“I’m sure I'm about to find out,” he said with a cheeky smile.

“You’re stupidly handsome. And because of this, it's hard to say no and act like I was still mad at you.”

“I’m glad to hear that. You know how I always say that nothing's a problem for me as long as I don't I feel like shit? Well, I felt like shit after cheating on you. I’m sorry, I fucked up.” To his surprise, you finally smiled at him. He missed your smile. “Now that we discussed this, do you still want to sleep in the guest room or…?”

“I’ll make you wait,” you told him as you walked back just to pat him on the chest.

“Damn, why are you being so mean?”

The way you acted around him made him hopeful that things were back to normal between you. Even though he only saw your back as you walked away, he could tell you were smiling to yourself. What he wasn’t expecting was you coming to an abrupt halt and going back to him again.

“Hey, one more thing. It’s about our little detour on the way from the airport,” you began. Oh, right, he had to stop to take care of something, and he even introduced you to a certain someone from work. Why did he have a feeling you weren’t happy now? “What’s her name? Cha-young?” He nodded. “I can’t guarantee that nothing will happen to her in the end if you don’t stop acting like this.”

“What? Is that a threat?”

You suddenly started laughing as you slowly took off your watch and glanced down at it. “Oh, no, it’s not, don’t worry. But you’d better have this for now,” you added, handing him the watch.

“I gave this to you as a gift, what are you doing?” he asked with a confused look on his face.

“It will look even better in your trophy collection if it comes down to it, won’t it?”

With that you turned around and walked away, this time not turning back halfway to the bedroom. This was the you he loved and missed so much! That fire in you was everything he needed right now. “I knew you still loved me!” he called after you happily. When he looked down at the watch, he couldn’t help but laugh. You were so obviously madly in love with him.

Tries to refrain from buying flammable items and has a secret stack of fire extinguishers inside his house

Has accidentally lit his curtain on fire like- a million times

Little bursts of fire every time he gets angry

Sometimes smoke randomly comes off of him as Cha-young frantically tries to blow it away

Attempts to keep his powers under grasp but everyone in Geumga Plaza finds out right off the bat

“ Could your powers be... transferred? Not to me of course! Haha... ha...”

Once jokingly intimidated Jang Han-seo with his powers and now the poor boy carries a bucket of water every time they meet

The ends of all his sleeves are burnt or have small marks of the fire’s wrath

Constantly listens to the plaza residents asking him to heat or cook up their food- and complies every time; when he’s not in the mood he’ll burn the dish

“ Did I burn it? Oh, whoops sorry.” He’d say with an unapologetic smile

Detests colder climates and prefers to live in the reverie that is summer

Will probably burn down Babel Tower if this was canon

I didn’t kill you till now cuz it was just a hassle??

Can you imagine your mortal enemy saying something so utterly devastating? Like you thought y’all were on the same level and really one-upping each other but this whole time turns out you were nothing more than a nuisance that they couldn’t be bothered with putting down?? Like they could’ve done it! Maybe even easily so! But instead they chose to let you have your little games and play pretend at hunting them down and terrorizing them. Like one does to a child. Cuz that’s how they see you.

Random analysis of Jang Han Seo's clothing! @56707

The high collars - The high collars were essentially there to mimic Han Seok's hands on his throat and presumably to hide bruising. Throughout the day, if Han Seo even turned his head a little his neck would've made contact with the material of the high collars, repeatedly reminding him of his brother so that Han Seok didn't even need to be in the room for Han Seo to be afraid of violence.

His hair - Han Seo's hair is only ever down when his defenses are: at the gym when he is caught off guard, in the waiting room of the hospital and when he's with Vincenzo. His hair is gelled up other times, symbolising his defenses being up and how he was locked into a role he didn't want to have.

The giant safety pin - The giant safety pin served as a constant reminder that Han Seo's life was in his brother's hands. To have a sharp metal object placed around your neck by your abuser would've constantly reminded Han Seo that Han Seok was more than happy to be the cause for his death. For me, it mirrors the scene where Han Seok put a knife to his own throat, manipulating Han Seo into subservience by threatening to end his life.

The glasses - We only see him wear glasses twice in the show. Once, during the scene where Han Seo is waiting outside his fathers hospital room and another time where Han Seo is in his 'disguise'. In the flashback to his fathers death, Han Seo's glasses are clear and round, symbolising how he can see clearly now just how awful his brother could be. The pink glasses he wears in the 80's Korea town outfit showcase how Han Seo was blinded by the exciting possibility of escaping his abuser as seeing the world through pink coloured lenses would make it incredibly difficult to spot any red flags as the red flags would've essentially been barely visible at most.

The 80s Korea town clothes - Han Seo most likely lived most of his life in formal wear after the death of their father so Han Seo's Korea town outfit most likely was there to truly showcase how out of touch Han Seo was with the common person. Han Seo's time was usually spent around people in Babel uniforms or suits themselves and he definitely had no close friends, causing him to not really understand how the average person dressed. His colourful choice shows us this because Han Seo thought it would help him blend in more when in reality it made him stand out because Han Seo doesn't know what normal people who get a choice would choose.
