Dracula Returns
I don't know if you've heard the latest news, but it looks like Dracula is going to return to cinema screens, I just saw on my phone that it will be produced by Luc Besson in partnership with Christoph Waltz. I'm shaking, anxious and afraid of repeating the same rereading from 92, I understand those who like the material, but I really wanted a version closer to what is actually covered in the book. My couple JonMina as an ardent couple that they are, Renfield without stereotypes, Lucy without the tremendous sexualization, Dracula as manipulative and megavillain and without romanticizing him as if he were innocent of something, Van Helsing without his caricatured and even exaggerated format, etc.
and honestly, on all sites it only shows the version of a Dracula wanting to find his wife lost in eternity, please show us the story as it truly is! Why distance yourself so much?!
Above all, and from the bottom of my heart, I hope it is at least a good adaptation.
I know it's early and that our good friend Jonathan Harker has already arrived in Bistrita, but does anyone have a JonMina playlist? I want to be prepared for when our couple meets again :)

Me and @starlitartworks discussed this, and we both agree: In a universe where Dracula is meant to look like this-
Jonathan Harker is allowed to be sexy. It is possible to be devastatingly attractive and a total nerd at the same time. Stop making Dracula sexier than Jonathan so she'll choose the monster who assaulted her instead of the guy who adores her more than life itself. Give Jonathan the good looks instead.

Could Jonathan be the first potential literary character for the "I would die for her" topic? I swear I have no idea of any classics older than "Dracula" that had a character in his full consciousness take such an action as Harker did for Mina.
jonmina headcanons time!!!
fair warning - even though i've read the book multiple times i am prone to just forgetting important things so these may be like entirely against canon but w/e
- jonathan and mina are childhood sweethearts
- i think it's canon that they both lost their parents when they were young so they definitely bonded over that
- jonathan went to an all-boys boarding school and mina went to its all-girls equivalent (along with lucy) and that's how they met
- they spent summers together, catching toads and causing trouble and such
- lady westenra allowed them to stay with her during this time as they didn't have anywhere else to go
- jonathan started learning from mr. hawkins in his mid-teens, and so he decided to spend summers at his home from then on. mina spent her time divided between the westenras and jonathan. this was also when they started to take their studies more seriously - up until now they'd spent most of their time goofing off
- they tutored each other - mina helped with the sciences and jonathan helped her with languages and humanities
- they're both bisexual. one day when they were dating, jonathan approached mina, shaking like a leaf and deathly pale, and told her that she was free to leave him if she wanted, but he had to tell her something, and then he said that he'd loved men in the past. mina just started sobbing and hugged him and said that she was so relieved because she didn't know how to tell him but she was the exact same way
- when it came time for them to ask for each other's hand in marriage, mina asked hawkins' permission to marry jonathan and jonathan asked lady westenra's permission to marry mina
i'll save some other headcanons for the end i just love them with all my heart
today’s entry was so much i couldn’t even say anything about it!!! but. he would do it ALL AGAIN. he would get kidnapped and terrorized and climb down a sheer castle wall and hike an absolutely insane distance through a wilderness full of ravenous wolves. just to get married to mina murray.

Remember when we had a peaceful JonMina reunion and everything was going well for them and they experienced a handful of days of actual bliss right before everything fell to shit again?
I’m not dead, just dormant :’D Real life has been kicking my ass lately so when I have some personal art time I try to wrap up some Dracula Daily backlog art before the year is out ^^

Can anyone advise me how exactly those worked? Because the very short notice wedding seems a bit unusual in my knowledge. We have something called special licence here, but that's generally only used for the terminally ill.
