Just An Update On Things - Tumblr Posts

So, I was on your other blog, the one with the 'fic with no name', and I really enjoyed reading that (even though I don't quite know what Psychonauts is and I'm kind of just picking up bits and pieces as I go along), and I saw something mentioning a sequel, but I looked and couldn't find it. Is it posted yet, or was I not looking hard enough? ...If it's already up, where is it? =/ Thanks.

Aaah I’m glad you enjoyed it Anon! I did try to write it so someone who maybe wasn’t so familiar with Psychonauts could at least follow along pretty well considering it’s not a well known game, but I highly recommend either getting it for yourself (it goes on sale on Steam really cheap pretty regularly) or watching a Let’s Play on Youtube, because the humor, characters, and design are all top-notch. 

As for the sequel, well, it’s in the works! I recently decided to re-write most of it, so that and school has meant it’s going a bit more slowly than I hoped. I don’t know if you read any of the other little one-shot type things I also have posted on there, but so far everything I have finished for my Mystery Kids stuff is up, so don’t worry, you didn’t miss anything!

I've been working on a few things, though it's obviously been going way slower than I'd hoped. That said! My rewrite of parts of the first fic (which still doesn't have a name, argh!!) is probably about halfway done; that will be posted as a separate update as well as an amendment to the original, and things will be edited accordingly.

And of course I have lots of new art to go with that, so you'll finally get to see pictures of Dipper and Mabel's mental worlds and the brainstorming I did for them. ;3

Once all that's done though, I plan to move ahead with the sequel (which I also decided to rewrite parts of :'D ) and get back to work on it. I think once I get on a roll that one should almost write itself.

It's summer break for me, so guess what that means? I can write a lot more!

I'm still working on the next longfic in my little 'continuity', and I have a few other short ones I'd like to write as, well as a few I haven't published yet... so stay tuned. ;3

So I've been either too busy to write in general, or I've been attacked with a dream involving something else entirely that demanded fic creation, but that should be done soon, and after that, you can bet I'll be back on doing things here.

Just figured I'd let you guys know I haven't given up or disappeared!

Did some updating to the blog theme! The format's not any different, but I've added a page with links to all the fics I currently have posted, which should make finding them much easier. I've also added a little bit to the 'Info' page, and with some luck I'll finally get around to making the headcanons page sometime soon.

The ask box, which I didn't know was closed all this time, is now open, but not taking anons for now. If you're not shy, go ahead and make use of it! I'd love to hear from you guys.

A little related, if there's a different blog theme that would be better suited to this-- easier on the eyes, better layout, and so on-- I'd love to hear it! I know right now the text is kind of small, and that makes reading difficult. I'd like to keep it simple and easy to navigate, and make sure people can find what they're looking for. ^^

Okay, new actual theme, but apparently still tiny text. Ah well. Check it out if you like, it's a lot more Gravity Falls-inspired. ouo

I think I'll reblog some of the color palette requests I've gotten on my main account here; a vast majority of them involve the kids one way or another, and they should liven things up while I gear up to work on sequels. ;3

Fics are going slowly at the moment, so I'm kind of dodging the block by finally getting my headcanons organized so they can be posted! I know I've had a link promising them... pretty much since this blog opened, but as it stands the document where I jot all this stuff down is a bit of a jumble of story ideas, starters, as well as actual headcanons, ha.

It's a work in progress obviously, but when all's said and done it should range from general info about the characters to things more specific to my iteration of the crossover. Hopefully, regardless of how it turns out, it'll be an interesting read. ^^

So the deal is that though I'm stuck on one fic, I just had all the pieces come together for another. Now the debate is which to work on, but I wanted you guys to know that I haven't forgotten and I haven't stopped writing, not really, and I'm grateful so many of you have stuck around! It really means a lot, especially when the tag itself is so dead these days. <3

Well, I'm basically done with school for the next few months, so you know what this means right?

Lots and lots of writing.

I've been working on the Reverse!Mystery Kids drawing request and hope to have it done soon; what's taken so long is that I've had to work out my own versions of everyone for the AU! I'll definitely be posting those descriptions alongside the drawings-- otherwise some might not make much sense.

For those of you unfamiliar with the concept, the Reverse AU is basically where characters are more antagonistic, have had their negative qualities emphasized, or if canon events had gone differently or wrong. It's not as simple as simply making characters the opposite of their canon personalities, or switching their roles with the actual antagonist (Reverse!Norman is not the same AU as when he switches roles with Aggie, for example), but a Reversed character is still directly opposed to their canon self in terms of goals and mindset.

The result is usually a pretty big mix of angst and horror, and usually I'm not too invested, but it's still been pretty fun to explore. I've even gotten the vague idea for a short fic out of this, but we'll see about that-- it's not like I don't have enough writing to do already, heh.

Next posts will be much more fun after the Reverse!Kids; I want to do the Mystery Kids/Hanna Is Not a Boy's Name crossover art next, but I also want to go all out on it because I love the idea, so it might take a while. More things on the horizon include a Monstery Kids AU fic, a full color pic, stuff about the dragon AU, and maybe some concept sketches from upcoming stories; I might post some of the various Monstery Kids doodles I've done in the meantime since they're pretty fun. ^^

So I hope you'll all look forward to that!

Decided it was time to change the blog avatar; some of you may remember it from the first time I posted it. :)

Though it’s still slow going, I have something of a writing muse back! I also want to do more art-- both finishing the few requests I had, and more sketches like the ones I did for the Prologue. I’m a little busy with school, but I’m feeling up to kicking things back into gear here, so thanks for everyone’s patience and I hope you’ll like what you see. ^^

So I totally want to restart the memory vault thing since i think it’s neat

Add that to completing the mental worlds, as well as the fics I’m still trying to get done

And another thing I hope you guys will think is fun that should be done much sooner than any of these other things, haha...

Just wanna say, if you guys ever feel like sharing headcanons or talking about MK in general, please don’t be afraid to send me an ask! I know this blog doesn’t look very active most of the time, but it’s just because art takes a long time to do in general, especially when life gets in the way. Despite that, I’m on Tumblr a lot and I’ll definitely see your messages, and will get back to you quickly-- I like talking about this stuff! ^^
