Here are the prompts for the 20th anniversary celebration event! Each day has a theme and some suggested sub-themes - feel free to interpret them however you like!

Day 1 - Monday 1 July: beginnings

AN: Happy 20th Anniversary to this amazing film! I'm super excited to be celebrating with you all and I can't wait to see what you've all created for @ka20th. I know we're a very small fandom but it's nice to see that we all love and cherish this movie (even though it get's a lot of hate💖)

I decided interpret the today's prompt loosely and have a bit of fun by creating something I've always wanted to make for a while now!

AN: During my re-watch of King Arthur for the @ka20th event, I noticed that Lancelot had this re-occurring expression whenever Arthur did an act that was selfless or towards Rome. I just thought it was interesting because no matter how hard he disagreed with him he always stuck by him, and I just think that's neat. Don't you?

AN: You know, at first when I saw today's @ka20th prompt I wasn't sure what to do. But then I thought, why not get a closer look at the place that the knights have called home for years. Let's zoom into the details because the set/production design is incredible in this film. Hope you enjoy this series!

AN: Here's part II of the Hadrian's Wall series for today's @ka20th prompt. This one was interesting because we never truly got to see Arthur in his own quarters. I know we had the scene where he slept with Guinevere but that was it. Wish we got to see more!

AN: How can I do this series and not include The Roundtable? Gosh the empty seats are a gut punch to the heart. So many men sat around this table but only six survived. So many years lost to an Empire that hey were forced to serve and to cause they didn't even believe in. But they all believed in Arthur and that's all that matters. (P.S. I love that Arthur and Lancelot are sitting next to each other 🤭)

Here is what I came up with for @ka20th King Arthur's 20th Anniversary Celebration, prompt: home.

This is set in my modern day AU, as I wanted to do something for Guinevere, but movie!verse Gwen wouldn't speak for me. So I tried this, and it came out. Guinevere and Lance are siblings in this series, and while Lance is in a relationship with Arthur (whom they both met in high school) Gwen is in love with him too, and has had a contentious relationship with Lance her whole life. Their father is a crooked banker/mobster, and Arthur's father is a cop who's been trying to take down their family organization forever.

TBH, I'm not sure I like it. I'm not sure anyone else will, either. I'm a bit upset about it, actually, but I'm posting it, as I feel Gwen deserves a scene to herself, no matter if her scribe likes it or not. LOL Sigh.

KA20TH CELEBRATION | Day 5 - Sacrifice

AN: For today's @ka20th prompt I decided to dedicate it to Arthur's ceremonial armour that he wore during the Battle of Badon. Not only did he stay behind to fight the Saxons so that his Knights could finally go home and be free, but he looked INCREDIBLE! I must say though, I am bias to the armour that he wears with the red cape, but gosh this one just stands out. Doesn't it?

This turned out a lot more fluffy than I'd anticipated. Oops. :D

It was my life to be taken! Not this...never this! My brave knights, I have failed you. I neither took you off this island nor shared your fate.

KA20TH CELEBRATION | Day 6 - Loss Lancelot's Death

AN: Gosh Lancelot's death in this film just kills me because I wasn't expecting it at all. I knew Tristan would die when he decided to face Cerdic alone, but Lancelot's death just hit me right in the heart. He didn't even get to see Arthur one last time nor did he get to say goodbye. How cruel is that? Well you know how these ancient tragedies go...no-one gets a happy ending. (P.S. I'm really happy with how this turned out💙)

This is the death scene I wrote for Arthur in The Only One, a post movie AU where Lancelot has survived and come to reconcile his friendship/love with Arthur, where he’s now living outside of Rome. It’s the sequel to Felt Like A Lifetime, which is the first Arthur x Lancelot long!fic I wrote for this fandom.

I don’t know if I could kill off Arthur if I were to write this now, but I am very proud and attached to these two stories (although FLAL needs a lot of work) and I’m very touched and happy for all the love I got for these two pieces.
