I know Junji Ito is not about romance and all but damn I really wish we get another power couple like Shuichi and Kirie. They're like the horror world’s version of ‘in it till the doom do us part.’ Since then, it’s just been a parade of toxic dynamics and serial cheaters. Gyo takes a special seat here, and don't even get me started with Tomie lol. It's like every relationship is just a stepping stone to some twisted nightmare. I miss the solidarity of a duo facing the abyss side by side. It adds a layer of depth amidst the horror.
