“If it goes wrong just say it was a joke.” You honestly don’t remember why asking Suga for dating advice was a bright idea especially when he hasn’t pulled a move on anyone. . .yet

‘Note to self: Don’t ask Suga for advice’ You placed that in the back of your head before talking back.

“But what if she thinks it’s weird and just walking away?”

“BUT what if she doesn’t? Just go for it! You got this, Y/N!” God, you can never win against his optimism! Okay, just stay calm and go for it, Y/N.

Practice had ended a little earlier than usual and the team had just finished cleaning up.

Kiyoko and you were on the bleachers, cooling under the fan, scrolling through your phones. Kiyoko, looking at her SNS feed and Y/N on tiktok. Both sometimes looking over at each other every now and then to see what’s on screen.

‘Should I try it now?’ You thought, glancing over to her.

You get a message from Suga

Simp(leton): Shut up, Koushi!

Looking out the window over to the 3rd Setter, you give him a playful glare and he responds with a smug grin and raised eyebrows as if saying ‘do it’

‘Fuck it.’ You finally made your decision. You’re gonna do it.

Finding the confidence you were looking for, you click on Koushi’s contact and wait for it to connect.

“Sugawara Kōshi, you just want to give me a heart attack, don’t you?”

The manager stopped looking at her phone and looked at you. Kiyoko knew immediately that you were nervous but wasn’t sure of what. She tilted her head out of confusion and wondered why that was the first thing said.

Feeling a stare from your left, you turn to see Kiyoko looking. ‘God, I'm such an idiot’ you thought while mentally facepalming. Now you know how Tanaka and Noya feel when gushing over Kiyoko and it is NERVE WRACKING!

Thankfully the video call connected and Suga came on screen.

Keeping just yourself in the frame, you look over to her whole saying the words. A nervous smile and anxiety was present on your face.

The band line reminded her of the team and she does like being with them. She had no clue about the “secret handshake” though. Kiyoko didn’t know where this was going but she wasn’t going to back out now.

Sliding the phone to her was pretty funny to watch, she looked confused at first before actually doing something.

She's the only one I got ~

Kiyoko now had the phone in her hand, she was completely confused on what she was supposed to do but she waved at Suga before laughing a bit and making a joke back towards you.

Not much of a girlfriend ~

She handed the phone back to you with a light blush on her face. Your mind didn’t process what she said quick enough until you saw the look of surprise and amusement on Suga’s face. Doing a double take at her, you finally realized that she didn’t deny the statement of being your girlfriend.

Not meaning to, you hang up on Suga and just stare at Kiyoko not knowing what to say.

“If I didn’t read this wrong, how about after this we go out to the cafe?” Her voice sounded so soft and unwavering that it snapped you out of your stupor.

“Okay, cool!” your voice cracks and you realize that you sound way too excited, “Ahem, I mean– yeah cool.”

“Great then I’ll see you at the front after school.” she smiled at you one last time before getting off the bleachers and heading out the gym.

“Oh my god. . .Kiyoko Shimizu just asked me out.”
