Brazil's Rio Grande do Sul is currently flooded

I don't make these kinds of posts, but Rio Grande do Sul (a brazilian estate) is going through its worst natural catastrophe in recorded history and I need everyone to know about this. Its currently looking like this:
What is going on
Most of Brazil suffers from yearly floods during the rain season. These floods most of the time aren't bad, with water going away a few hours later. Sometimes they are a nightmare, with people losing their homes and most if not all belongings. But this?
This is not fucking normal.
Currently (May 6th, 2024) there's +80 confirmed deaths and 873 thousand people are being affected by these historical floods. Eight hundred and seventy three THOUSAND people. Once again: THIS. IS. NOT. NORMAL.
Rio Grande has 496 cities, and currently, 364 are reporting problems related to this. It's almost the entirety of Rio Grande - and you know how big Rio Grande is? If you're from the USA, its just a bit bigger than Colorado, and just a bit smaller than Nevada. If you are European, Rio Grande is bigger than the United Kingdom. Can you imagine if almost the entirety of the UK was underwater? Because I sure fucking can just by watching brazilian news!
Rio Grande expects floods. It rains a lot in Brazil. What no one expect is having to deal with 2,30 meters - 7'7 feet for reference - ABOVE the expected flooding level, which is 3 meters (9'10 feet). This means that there were 5,26 meters (17'3 ft) of water. Chart for comparison:
I live in São Paulo, which is completely unaffected by what is going on over there, but I need people to be aware of this. Why?

Latam is not a racial minority, it is an ethnic minority. Latino Americanos are apart of an ethnicity, and it's not because someone is latino that they automatically a person of colour. I live in Brazil, a latino americano country and I've seen many white people here. I got two white classmates. And I got white family members. I'm totally down for comprehendin and not pitakin on the racial context of other countries, as every country has it's own history w racism, but the same don't apply to ethnicities.

Meeting in the middle is fine when you’re the one giving up a little, but when you’re the one sacrificing your health, your life, your freedom and your vote, that middle is simply like slightly loosening one’s handcuffs, but leaving them on.

Seven days ago Colombians have been protesting (yes, in the middle of a pandemic because the goverment happens to be more dangerous than a virus) for a couple of reasons like a tax reform, health reform, murder of social and enviromental leaders and alarming increase of femicides. The things is, protests in all the cities have always been peaceful, but the goverment is not only not listening to us but ordering to attack us and kill us. We're being noticed by others thanks to social media only (like twitter, facebook) where people are using hashtags, making livestreams and asking for help because the media in our country isn't speaking for us, we're being silenced and censored so the international media and other countries don't know about the abuse and violence we're going through.
All we want is other people know about what's going on so we can get the help we need, I'm using this platform to make it possible because the censorship by the Colombian media prevents the world and even colombians themselves from seeing the excessive abuse of the armed forces.

This self-described disruption, subversion or even profanity against D&D B/X really gets just to the point. It cleverly finds a quick and dirty system that minimises sheet bookkeeping, that also gives an entertaining depth to conflicts. Because that's what BX is really about, isn't it? The game leaves everything else to freeform play, and, as it happened with the previously mentioned In the Time of Monsters, I'm generally appreciating the split between combat and the rest of the narrative. The bestiary is also filled with creatures that are fun to run, with hooks baked into their descriptions, but there's a tendency all over the game to make fun of itself, that really entertained me. What really got me, in addition to the fluid simplicity of this game, is how easy it is to hack videogames into it. I tried a couple, and it was really a breeze, much to the satisfaction of the other players as well. The scenes flowed easily, and combat, with its lethality spiking now and then, keeps up the tension that it should.

Arriva astutamente a un sistema facile e rapido che riduce la contabilità di scheda, dando nel contempo un'interessante profondità ai conflitti. Perché in fondo è tutto lì il punto di BX, no? Questo gioco lascia tutto il resto alla narrativa libera e, come per In the Time of Monsters recensito in precedenza, tendo ad apprezzare questo tipo di separazione fra il combattimento e il resto della narrativa. Il bestiario, fra l'altro, è pieno di creature divertenti da gestire e dalle ispiranti descrizioni. Anche la tendenza generale del gioco a prendersi in giro da solo mi ha veramente intrattenuto. Quello che mi ha veramente colpito, oltre alla scorrevole semplicità del gioco, è stata la facilità con cui ci si possono convertire videogiochi. Ho provato con un paio, mettendoci veramente un attimo e dando anche soddisfazione agli altri giocatori. Le varie scene sono scorse fluidamente e il combattimento, con la sua letalità che spunta improvvisamente, ha mantenuto alta la tensione come dovrebbe essere.

That!!!! Also don't ignore neocolonialism. USA promoted most of the LATAM dictatorships and until recent years had an economic block in Cuba. The media monopoly too! The amount of American media we consume here in LATAM is actually concerning. That's not to see that we don't have our internals problems, that is, after all, indigenous land stolen by portuguese and spanish people, with a big and opressed population of african descents. So ON TOP OF THAT, we still need to worry about neocolonialism from the global north. So... Yeah
I hope western leftists know that standing for a free Palestine is not the end of decolonization. I've seen far too many white leftists who proudly stand for freeing Palestine which is good but then get nervous and apprehensive at the idea of decolonizing the very land they are on. Norway will recognize Palestine but actively tear down Sámi liberation. Liberation for one people means it for us all. If you support Palestinian liberation but deny it for the Indigenous people of the land you're on then you didn't stand for Palestinians or any of us to begin with.
