Istg just make it a different character. It’s terrible to see them continuing Max’s life and while I know it’s just another universe of many this just doesn’t work. Life Is Strange was - IS - a great game. I love everything about it. The followed parts weren’t good, Before the Storm was ok I guess. The great thing about LiS is that there wasn’t any continuation of the first story. It’s an ending that’s basically the start of a new chapter. With this new game they ruined all of that. Max really doesn’t look like Max and before someone says it’s because she’s older, that’s bullshit. It’s a different art style, she looks like a complete different person and the only reason they made it be Max is because of Marketing and getting the old fans to buy it. I’m pretty sure this is from a different developer as well. The game could’ve been cool if they simply decided to not go with Max.
The gaming industry has faltered anyways. I’m happy to see smaller developers having higher chances of selling more and getting bigger, but when it comes to big projects it’s mostly a let down. CAPCOM’s a great example as to how they lost their passion for the Resident Evil franchise. RE8 had nothing to do with RE. Same with its rushed DLC. RE4 Remake took away RE4’s uniqueness but at least the DLC was great.
Nintendo has gotten truly disappointing. EA has definitely not improved. Companies are rushing out games like they don’t mean anything and it just hurts.
I’m glad that Larian Studios have been giving their best to actually listen to their community and work with it. The game took 9 whole years to get its official release. And while it’s been out for a while, Larian’s still working on it. With Patch 7 Coming and it probably being the last one, Larian has shown compassion. I can only hope other companies will follow their example and not release pitiful products like LiS : Double exposure.

I know that we most likely aren’t getting Chloe in this game (if we do I’m sure it’s gunne be choice based like it was in 2) but my god I am so curious how this will play out. Like will she be a big factor or will they minimize her role?
You can bet your ass once I’m home I will be doing a deep dive.
Double Exposure and Dust
A.K.A What I think this new game will bring along with other ramblings about the series
"I swore I'd never use my power again, but two nights ago. I found my friend's body in the woods. I don't know who I can trust... Or who trusts me. But my friend Safi... is dead. So why can I still hear her voice?" "Focusing my power I somehow shifted into a parallel timeline!"
After watching the trailer for the newest installment in the Life is Strange franchise I couldn't help but notice that it seems... familiar or at least similar to another piece of media in the Life is Strange franchise. Like the quote above, the game seems to follow the story of Max once more as she tries to save another friend from death. Had they not revealed who the friend was so early, I would have thought it to be Chloe, but it's a woman named Safi.
As the trailer continues to play, we see Max mourn Safi and visits a memorial for her. It's at this memorial where things take a weird turn of events.
Max begins hearing her voice and eventually learns she can visit parallel timelines.
This is the part where the trailer gets familiar. Like I had seen this before in a watered down way. It took me a bit of time, but then I realized I had seen Max go through this before. Max Caulfield has traveled through timelines; through different realities in the Life is Strange comics.
(Now I will fully admit that I haven't finished reading the comic series, but I have gotten a couple volumes and what I have read it's a bit of a mess.) And if you have read the comics you know that it's debated among the fans whether or not the comic series is canon or not given how loose it follows the games. For those who don't know the comics, it takes place a year after The Storm. The comic follows the Bae route with Max and Chloe in Seattle with new friends. They're all watching the news and given it's the anniversary of the towns destruction, that's what the focus is on. It's in this first issue that the first sign of trouble is seen. Max is slipping back into different timelines. She is loosing control of her power.
So the two go back to Arcadia Bay where Max continues to have trouble staying in the correct timeline. (There's more, but I don't want to spoil too much of the comic series. Also I eventually wanna do a deep dive into them.) Now there are differences between the trailer's storyline and the comic's, the first one is that it seems Max is in control in the game. Although it's the similarity of jumping between timelines that have me so invested in what little we saw of the new trailer.
Obviously Deck Nine is going to touch upon the jumping timelines given that was mentioned in the trailer, but to what extent? I believe it might follow a bit of the comic with Max loosing control, unless they decide to lean more into the narrative of the mystery like they did with True Colors. The later seems like the route they'll go, but given that we are focusing on Max again it would be almost disloyal to the fans to not touch upon the past and only remain in her "present" past. Ultimately I just hope that while we have the mystery of this new character that the story doesn't feel disjointed like it did in True Colors and Before the Storm.
(I fully plan to rewrite my thoughts more coherently once I'm more awake and hopefully as we get more info regarding the game. OrmaybeI'lljustmakenewpostsinstead.)

I feel like true colors was good but it definitely lost it's theme and/or purpose, it was all over the place imo. As much as I love it, it hardly fits the LIS series (it needs more trauma) because it was focused on so many things, I feel like the plot just got lost over time in the game and the developers just came up with random things as they went on. THIS IS MY OPINION DO NOT ATTACK ME FOR IT I BEG OF U (if u wanna tho my discord is on one of my blogs hmu)

what im really confused about in lis DE is like if u chose bay > bay, does that mean theyre gonna somehow manage to fit the picture of max and chloe from lis2 into canon? (not just the picture, but the story that goes along with the picture)

Just what the hell? is this your explanation for what happened to Chloe and Max? Guys, this is terrible… In my life, I managed to burn "a lot of bridges", break up so many different relationships. I can definitely be called "the worst". But to destroy such a relationship? I don't even know who you have to be. And I definitely need a detailed explanation of what happened, and not a couple of lines of dialogue or a diary entry! I was ready to buy early access tomorrow and start playing, but now I definitely DO NOT.
