TOP10 IDOLMAKER PAIRINGS FANS CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF!
Recently, a week long poll was held on IDOLMAKER’s official site, in which fans were encouraged to pick their favorite IDMK friendship duos, trios or any sort of combination among the 16 current members. While it’s still unclear if it will culminate in any sort of benefit or special release from the Top10 pairings, or if it’s just another one of FURTA Media’s direct marketing research tactics, fans still took the poll seriously and went to war for their picks. Anyhow, here at the results!
10. 2EUNYOO (EUNHYUK X EUNYOUNG X YOOJIN) with 4% of votes!
Nicknamed as ‘MAXIs First Love Trio’, 2EunYoo’s chemistry in variety shows and early promotional material is often said to be one of the key elements behind IDOLMAKER’s successful sell of their project in their pre-debut months - Eunyoung and Eunhyuk’s obvious care for Yoojin was endearing to her already established fanbase, making their position as co-leaders even the more obvious. Although not promoted as often together at this point in time for reasons that fans can only speculate about (rumors surrounding an alleged misunderstanding between the three have run wild since 2019), older MAXIs still hold on foundly to the team, and every small piece of interaction between the three of them can still cause a considerable amount of frenezy and trend for days!
09. YOUNG WIN (GAYOUNG X DAEWON) with 5% of votes!
The center x center pairing got popular almost immediatly after Daewon’s addition to group in 2020, when he and Gayoung got paired up in a Ready To Love dance break. They jokingly took to calling themselves team ‘Young Win’ on their rehearsal vlogs, which ended up sticking for how fitting it is: Gayoung and Daewon are both 97 and 99 liners, respectively, but they’re already some of the most prominent It Girl and It Boy not only in their group, but also in 4th Gen as a whole. Their joint brand friendliness is remarkable and keeps on growing day by day, with Young Win recently doing promotional campaigns for Bobbi Brown and attending the Prada fashion show in 2023′s Milan Fashion Week side by side. Daewon is one of the few people that can make Gayoung break character and laugh in between scheduels, while it’s easy to see that her professionalism brings out the best out of him when they work together, which they seen to want to keep doing for a long, long time.
08. 4TH GEN GANG (TOMOMI X DAEWON X KINA X YUZURIHA) with 6% of votes!
Fans have time and time again point out that while all past IDMK units always seemed to leave someone a little behind, as it happened with Seunggi in 1st Gen, Taehyeon in the 2nd and Yejung in the 3rd, IDOLMAKER’s latest addition really feels like a team of four friends that work in harmony. A lot of credit is probably due to their different style of promotions then the groups before them; the unit was originally set to hyperfocus on the japanese market before Daewon made the cut, and even with a korean member added to the mix they still spent most of their first year sharing an apartment in Tokyo and getting to know each other more isolated from the main group. Their mix of personalities has also always been very well received: serious Tomomi, jokester Daewon, energetic Kina and mellow Yuzuriha is a combo that never fails to amuse MAXIs and even non-fans, on occasion. All duo combinations among the 4th Gen Gang is also very popular, with KIYU~~ (Kina and Yuzuriha, the maknae line that is notorious for their geek enthusiasm over their game) and ToKi (Tomomi and Kina, who have a cat and mouse sort of teasing dynamic going on) coming just short of making it into the poll on their own.
