i’m dropping some legend of zelda hcs here under the cut because i can.
• sooga is half sheikah half gerudo, hence why he’s so tall. and that man is totally poc nintendo ain’t foolin anybody
• you think the sheikah hairdos are wack??? the yiga went even more chaotic. yes, sooga wears his hair like the mcdonald’s m, it’s a character choice. and kohga has like—SUUUUUPER poofy coils so, how he gets it in the style he does is always a surprise.
• ghirahim, or better yet, his sword form, is hidden away deep in the forgotten temple. he’s been asleep for a long time. and i mean the placement of the sealed grounds in the first hyrule warriors is around the same region as the forgotten temple soooooo—i can dream of ghira returning in botw 2.
• the great horse fairy malanya is actually malon.
• botw link’s hair is obviously the golden blonde color it is, but he has a lot of faded multicolored streaks in his hair from all the times he’s dyed his clothes.
• gaddison is non-binary, i’m sorry i don’t make the rules.
y’know it’s obvious that link, zelda and ganondorf don’t remember things from their past lives, buuuut what if they did.
like what if every single reincarnation of link feels this wave of peace fall over them when they draw the master sword for the first time because the memory of a blue spirit who never smiled much but was kind and helpful flashes before their eyes. or when they hear an ocarina or a harp, this bittersweet melancholy takes over them as they think of old friends. or when night falls and they hear a wolf howling, they get this haunting nostalgia at remembrance of the twili. or when every time link has to go face to face with the king of evil, he remembers battling demise for the first time.
or in zelda’s case, she feels different every time she wears a white dress. or how the ancient royal family song passed down through the generations will always be her favorite. or how she dreams of cool disguises, ones with bandanas and masks and sheikah eyes. maybe she’s claustrophobic because she remembers getting sealed away so many times. maybe she likes doing things by herself so she doesn’t have to burden someone else’s life with her problems again.
for ganon it’d probably be more of a burden than decent memories. every reincarnation is filled with undeniable hatred. there’s always an intrusive thought laying in his head, thinking of what it’d be like to rule all of Hyrule and kill anyone who gets in his way. but there’s also tragedy, of losing his people, his tribe, whatever family is to him. this single gerudo man sees a wild boar and feels a strange resonance to it, because he’s been a beast many, many times before. he returns to old gerudo ruins, and as he gazes upon a large rock in particular, one in which he was nearly killed upon, he remembers what he is.
