Honestly the more I think about it the more I think they could have done some great things with Lilith adopting the Collector.

They could have showed that you don't need a romantic partner/interest in romance in order to want to adopt kids. (The creator's have said that Lilith is aroace.) (All if not most of the parental figures in the show currently are shown to either be widowed, divorced, or in the process of getting into a romantic relationship, etc. Implying that they have had or will have a romantic partner to help parent the kid(s).)

King and the Collector as the type of cousins that are raised really close to each other and thus become besties/bffs. They can still be a great troublemaking duo as cousins. Siblings aren't the only familial relationship that exists for kiddos!

Protective Uncle Hooty. Protective Uncle Hooty. Y'all just know he'd be way more doting on the Collector if they were Lulu's kiddo.

The Collector using his powers to help Lilith construct/restore historical buildings. (He literally made a crown shaped castle, the dude's gotta have some interest in architecture.)

A callback to Lilith trying to protect King and calling him her nephew with Eda protecting/speaking up for the Collector and calling him her nephew. The Collector learning what that aunts/uncles are really supposed to be like, outside of Belos, both with how Eda interacts with them and how Lilith interacts with King.

I've been back and forth on whether I wanted Eda or Camila to adopt the Collector.

But no lie when I saw the Collector working with Lilith to free everyone from being puppets and then walking up to and looking up at her I somehow accidentally 1000% assumed she had adopted them.

...Until it was revealed that he was just giving her Hooty. And that they then left to be alone in the stars, parentless. :/

But I mean come on just imagine how smug about adopting them she'd be towards Eda!

Lilith, busting into the Owl House door with the Collector waddling behind her like a little duckling:
