Charlie Smith Character Study Intro
Just finish my re-watch of BBC’s Class for the twentieth time and I am more than a little stuck on it. Mostly in the focus of my favorite character my poor confused little prince, Charlie. I find him so fascinating, well I find them all fascinating but him most of all. Probably cause with him most of it is kept under the surface, the other you eventually get to see them bring out their other side and come into their own, but with Charlie he is trying to hide as much as he can. I’ve seen several people hating on him for a lot of reason and his flaws and I just want to get why I love him out of my system and out there, or I might go crazy, Character Study with a more than a little bit of questions and theorizing, here we go!
Starting the first episode when we first see Charlie at home. Quill ask him why isn’t he upset and when he is at their house you see a different Charlie. A more confident one,he changes, not completely but it he shifts just slightly and it makes all the difference. Charlie is confused but only with his current surroundings, outside of that he is very much in control of the one thing that he can be, himself. This all comes back to one central thing, probably the only thing that doesn’t shift him is that he is a Prince. Hell, it so important to his story they have to tell us not even half way into to the first episode and man do they hit us over the head with it again, and again and again. Mostly by everyone else calling him by his title. It is that centered in who he is and how we are meant to understand him. No not the I’m a prince, I’m better than everybody else kind of way, but in his way of think, his point of view, the exceptions that he was held while growing up, how he was raised and what he was raised to believe. Even when his people are gone he is still who he was raised to be. “I am a prince, Just without a people” Which leads to a really cool question to how Rhodian’s Royal hierarchy works. Is it something biologic, the the royalties are born different from the common folk, genetic marker, a special ability or trait? ( I’m really really desperate to know more about his home and his culture.) But going further we will take it as a basic simple mean as he is who he always was. ( I will have main point later to look back on through to vigorously point to about him having unnamed or addressed abilities.*evil laugh*) Means that basics is how he proceeds through the series.
I thought so to. April herself said she hit her head when she fell and it was effecting her ability to picture it. I always thought the flashback was more of refers point to how the humans perceived Charlie and Quills backstory and their relationship to each other than anything else. It's how April thinks they would look for a moment, it's never confirmed that it's what they actually look like. I wondered for a while if they did actual look like humans or not (considering we find out that Charlie is much better at lying than this), which was at least confirmed that Quill looks different than a human when the Lin Kin says it took a human form in her 'sisters' case. And even if that is what they look like, which seems to literal for me (a being named Quill actual having quills and the boy who almost always wears blue being blue shades and having weirdly blue hair, seems to much like April taking connect and coming up with a picture in her head.) It doesn't necessarily mean they look like that.
Ah, so now, I just gotta say, about posts like this:

Am I the only one who thought that that was intended as a joke? As in, Charlie’s ‘alien form’ isn’t like that, and is, in fact, humanoid? (He does say “No. Why do you ask?” after April inquires about it, though it is maybe in a misleading way)
I took the point as being to show April’s thoughts about what he could look like.
I mean, we do see Rhodia here:

Anyway! Guess my point is, is it confirmed either way?
